Chapter 93: Assimilation

~6 min read 1,144 words

“You can make the star-nervous-force objects I created vanish too?” Helena stared at Wang Yu, speaking slowly and deliberately.

“Can’t you?” Wang Yu countered.

“Theoretically, of course not—unless…” The blonde woman bit her lip slightly, hesitating.

“Don’t talk about theory—try it yourself,” Wang Yu said, believing only in what he saw. He flipped his hand once, and another iron dagger materialized in a shimmer of light, tossing it straight to the blonde woman.

Helena caught the dagger, stared at it for a long moment, but it showed no change whatsoever.

Her face grew pale.

“So you really can’t nullify my creations. What did you mean by ‘unless’?” Wang Yu pressed, seeing this.

“Unless my star-nervous force has been assimilated by yours,” Helena threw the dagger onto the hall floor, speaking angrily.

“My star-nervous force assimilated yours? Do you have any other evidence?” Wang Yu didn’t dispute it, paused to think, then asked again.

“Come here, extend your hand,” Helena said without hesitation.

Hearing this, Wang Yu raised an eyebrow and walked over, extending one palm.

The blonde woman lifted her arm and seized his hand.

The next instant, strands of crystalline light surfaced along Helena’s arm, flowing automatically toward Wang Yu through their joined palms, accelerating rapidly.

Helena’s normally graceful figure, identical to a normal human’s, began to blur and flicker.

Wang Yu’s expression turned to shock—he suddenly pulled his hand back and examined it closely.

“You just transferred your star-nervous force to me?” he asked, uncertain.

“Of course I didn’t transfer it to you—when we make contact, your body automatically drains my star-nervous force. Do you feel your mental strength has increased slightly?” At this moment, Helena’s blurred form returned to normal, but she spoke through clenched teeth.

“My mental strength has indeed grown a bit more than before—is this your star-nervous force? Unbelievable—your star-nervous force can directly merge into my mental energy,” Wang Yu closed his eyes to inspect his own mental energy, then opened them again, his expression strange.

“Do you want to hear my analysis of our current situation?” Helena scanned the entire hall with her gaze, her expression shifting between dark and light.

“Oh? Go ahead,” Wang Yu said, genuinely intrigued by her tone.

After all, he had long wanted to understand what this login interface hall truly was.

Hearing this, Helena didn’t speak immediately. Instead, she clapped her hands together, then pulled them apart.

“Crack!”

Two silver arcs of electricity sprang from her palms, shooting upward and coalescing into two large circular arcs above their heads.

“The Taiyuan mainframe is on Blue Star, so originally, there should have been a virtual login interface hall created by virtual technology on Blue Star—but now, a Taiyuan login interface has appeared in this other world.

I don’t know how you achieved this, but can you tell me: do you believe this other-world Taiyuan login interface is the same as the virtual one on Blue Star, or is it an entirely separate, independent space?” Helena asked Wang Yu directly.

Wang Yu recalled his experience of system fusion on Blue Star. After a long pause, he replied firmly:

“It’s independent—at least in this world, it’s independent.”

“If you say that, then it’s fine. I also believe this login interface is completely different from the one on Blue Star.

Now, the situation is this: I’m trapped inside this other-world login interface hall, while you can freely enter and exit it,” the blonde woman said, her hands moving slightly as she controlled the arcs.

With a “crack,” one of the electric arcs instantly dissolved and vanished; inside the other, two white electromagnetic orbs representing the two of them appeared.

“Ever since you began cultivating star-nervous force, this login interface hall has changed—it expands as your star-nervous force grows, and star-nervous force is an ultra-compressed form of mental energy.

This means this other-world login hall is clearly tied to your mental energy. One could even speculate that it exists solely as an extension of your mental energy—or is entirely a hallucination born from it.”

As she spoke, Helena’s finger moved slightly again. The electric arcs surrounding the two electromagnetic orbs expanded outward, and a thin filament of electricity shot out, connecting the arc circle to one of the orbs.

“As for our ability to create objects with star-nervous force, we can set that aside for now—it’s clearly tied to some unknown property within star-nervous force itself.

But since the login interface hall changed, my star-nervous force has begun being assimilated—not by you, but by the hall itself.

Yet this login interface hall is intimately linked to your mental energy, which explains why, when we make contact, my star-nervous force is automatically drained by you.”

Helena paused, then moved her finger again. Two more thin filaments of electricity shot out, connecting the other electromagnetic orb to the arc circle, and linking the two orbs to each other.

This formed a perfect small closed loop between the two orbs and the arc circle.

Wang Yu watched silently, deep in thought.

“Worse still, as the hall grows larger, my connection to it strengthens—I now feel a pulling force emanating from the hall, trying to drain my star-nervous force. I can barely suppress it with my own ability, barely preventing its loss.

Do you know what will happen if this continues?” Helena asked Wang Yu, her face filled with fear.

“Will you vanish too?” Wang Yu murmured, sensing the answer.

“Exactly. Once your star-nervous force grows large enough that I can no longer resist, my star-nervous force will be fully absorbed by the hall. Once star-nervous force is drained, my other mental energy will automatically convert into the missing portion of star-nervous force. This cycle will repeat endlessly—eventually, my mental entity cannot survive.

But if I cease to exist, no one can inject electromagnetic energy into Wang Tiezhu’s memory data sphere—he won’t be able to revive either.” Helena spoke bitterly, then flicked her wrist—every arc above her head vanished.

“Are you threatening me?” Wang Yu’s expression darkened.

“It’s not a threat—I’m just stating facts. I don’t want to vanish like this,” Helena glared at Wang Yu, her anger masking fear.

“Then what do you propose? I have no intention of erasing you, and I will continue cultivating star-nervous force—I won’t stop. I can’t control the hall’s assimilation of your star-nervous force,” Wang Yu said after a moment, calmly.

“If you’re willing to cooperate, I’m not without options,” Helena said, her spirits lifting.

“Tell me,” Wang Yu replied, noncommittal.

“First solution: since my star-nervous force can be assimilated by you, that means my consciousness can survive within your star-nervous force. I can abandon all other mental energy and temporarily transfer my consciousness and memories into your mental body. Then, when you leave, you’ll likely be able to bring me back to the outside world with you,” the blonde woman said hopefully.
