Chapter 13: Little Black Room? Trash Dump!

~7 min read 1,342 words

“Hurry up and get back!”

Teacher Yao simply didn’t want to argue with this student dressed in bizarre attire.

The kid had eventually steered the topic toward coexistence of diverse genders.

It gave the fifty-year-old Teacher Yao a minor existential shock.

“That might be difficult—I’ve got frequent, urgent, incomplete urination…”

“Fine, fine, just get back before class ends!”

The nonsensical talk made Teacher Yao feel he’d forgotten to check the almanac that morning.

Watching the student skip away cheerfully, Teacher Yao’s voice suddenly turned cold: “You’d better keep your exam ranking…”

He ignored the old bastard’s threat.

Wu Wang had already stepped outside.

The long corridor stretched endlessly; within sight, only white tiles and the green plants beyond the windows, spotlessly clean yet strangely unsettling.

The restroom’s direction was marked on the wall.

But strangely, the sign contained more than just restroom directions.

Other information too—

【Senior Class 1 is 20 seconds from the restroom】

“Time, huh…”

Wu Wang recalled the directional sign downstairs.

Indeed, it didn’t just mark the locations of all campus buildings—it kindly noted how long it took to reach each from there.

As if someone was constantly reminding you not to dawdle on the way.

He didn’t linger outside the classroom.

He walked toward the restroom.

About twenty seconds later, Wu Wang arrived at the restroom.

Inside the equally odorless toilet, the most striking feature was the timer hanging above each stall.

Curious, Wu Wang entered a stall.

He really did need to go.

“Ding dong!”

Suddenly, a shrill alert sounded from the timer.

Tick—tick—

Then the number 300 appeared.

Each tick reduced the number slightly, an irritating rhythm.

Five minutes total.

“Be a human—do you really need a countdown just to pee?” Wu Wang was speechless.

He hadn’t expected his first school rule to be in the restroom.

Taped to the stall door:

【Restroom usage must not exceed 5 minutes】

【In special cases, apply for a leave note from your homeroom teacher; otherwise, treated as a violation】

Fuck, am I gonna get shot for taking a shit?

Wu Wang finished quickly and left.

He returned to the directional sign on the first floor.

He found the building marked “Little Black Room.”

Lucky—he was right beside the senior building.

Running there would take about three minutes.

That way, he wouldn’t be gone too long and miss returning to class.

He had no intention of directly defying school rules.

Wu Wang was cautious—he always believed his 【Immortality】 only granted error tolerance.

It didn’t mean he could act recklessly before ghosts.

Ghosts that directly killed, like in the beginner dungeon, were manageable; he mainly feared being trapped by supernatural conditions.

Like this Little Black Room.

What if it didn’t kill him outright?

Or worse—once it realized he couldn’t die, the old bastard locked him in there forever?

That’d be a nightmare.

“Damn, it’s shattered everywhere—always takes forever to clean up.”

As Wu Wang neared the Little Black Room, he suddenly heard cursing from nearby.

He hid and crept closer, revealing the full sight of the Little Black Room.

It was a small, entirely black single-story building.

Around it, weeds grew wild, starkly contrasting the campus’s pristine order.

Even from afar, a rotting stench reached his nose.

The entire patch of ground held nothing but the Little Black Room.

Isolated, it looked profoundly eerie.

At that moment, two figures stood before the building, talking.

Both wore thick protective suits, making them look grotesquely bloated.

“Next time, tell the teachers to make them jump in the river—jumping off buildings is just too hard to clean,” said the man on the left.

His companion sneered: “Sure, go suggest that to the principal—I’ll even reserve your grave spot for you. Don’t worry, it’s prime feng shui!”

“Hehehe, just joking—let’s get to work!”

As they spoke, they opened the door.

They picked up a massive black sack on the ground but didn’t enter.

Only made a throwing motion.

Thump—

The sack was tossed into the Little Black Room, but due to the force, something fell out of its opening into the weeds.

The two didn’t notice the dropped object—only made disgusted noises and hurried away.

Once they were gone, Wu Wang stepped out.

Ignoring the strange stench, he reached into the weeds and searched.

Within moments, he found what had fallen.

“Huh, this is…”

Seeing what it was, Wu Wang’s pupils contracted slightly.

It was a bloodstained school ID card.

The name on it: Liu Yang.

“Was Liu Yang’s corpse in that sack just now?” Wu Wang suddenly realized a possibility, staring at the Little Black Room with surprise, then carefully sniffing the air.

“No doubt—it’s the smell of decaying flesh!”

“So the Little Black Room is just a corpse disposal site?”

But then Wu Wang felt something was off.

If it were only a corpse disposal site, why would students be so terrified?

They could watch Liu Yang jump without flinching, yet turned pale at the mere mention of the Little Black Room—clearly, something worse than death terrified them.

A corpse? Not frightening at all.

“Go inside?” Wu Wang hesitated.

According to the side quest, this place definitely held a ghost.

This wasn’t like the beginner dungeon.

No microphone to provide evidence—if the ghost latched onto him, things would get messy.

And if the ghost followed him out of the dungeon? Even harder to handle.

“Want to know what the Little Black Room does?”

A sudden voice came from the other side of the grounds.

Wu Wang turned his head—familiar mask in view.

The masked woman: He Yikan!

“You know?”

“What information are you offering in exchange? Even if you’re a newbie, I won’t give out clues for free,” He Yikan said coldly.

Wu Wang stared into her eyes.

After a moment, he said: “I’ll trade you the cause of death of the guy just thrown in. Don’t tell me you didn’t notice it was a corpse.”

“Fine! Deal!”

This was a team dungeon—everyone’s rewards were calculated collectively, at least to others’ eyes; no one knew Wu Wang’s main quest was slightly off.

But he had no reason to lie about the clue.

After all, Bilidao knew exactly how Liu Yang died, so Wu Wang revealed everything that happened in the classroom without hiding anything.

He Yikan nodded silently after listening.

Then he said: “The Black Room is where ‘trash’ is handled—not just corpses, but if a living person enters and survives, they become more obedient, obsessed solely with studying.”

“Because in my Class Three, a student who had survived the Black Room returned right after class started; our homeroom teacher was delighted and celebrated in advance, predicting his scores would skyrocket.”

“Class Three has two students in the top ten of the grade; both have entered the Black Room at least five times, but their condition seems strange…”

Here, He Yikan paused.

As if pondering how to describe the two people she meant.

Finally, she said coldly: “They look like tireless learning machines—unresponsive to everything around them, even pain, showing only extreme madness in their studies.”

“I suggest we find out what’s inside before we enter the Black Room casually, or our cognition might be affected.”

Cognitive impact is terrifying.

Because it has nothing to do with death—it only changes who you are.

That means even after leaving the dungeon, it won’t disappear.

No one wants to return to reality with a broken mind.

This is just a side quest; ignoring it won’t affect completing the main storyline.

“By the way, why are you here in the Black Room?” He Yikan suddenly asked Wu Wang; she had assumed Bilidao would be the one investigating.

After all, he’s just a newbie—why would Bilidao trust him to investigate alone?

Wu Wang smiled at this:

“Because my homeroom teacher told me to go in.”

“?”

He Yikan stared, baffled.

Though masked, she could picture her own expression—mouth agape, thinking, “Are you serious?”

This newbie’s got a screw loose!

How long has it been since he entered the dungeon?!

Has he already pissed off his homeroom teacher?!
