Chapter 183
This is truly strange!
Luo Sha pulled her hand back, then reached out again to touch the mirror's surface; after several attempts, they still hadn't left this place. She frowned at Lu Fang and said, "Marquis Wen Guan, did you already suspect this would happen? I don't know why, but it seems we can't get out."
Lu Fang shook his head. "I only had a vague suspicion just now—I didn't expect we truly couldn't leave."
Luo Sha asked, "What did you suspect?"
Lu Fang paused, then smiled bitterly. "I suspected all of this was the Moxin 's doing, but when I asked it, it didn't answer."
"Actually, I didn't need it to answer—I guessed it was still the Moxin."
"Before, it was because of the Moxin that the green-skinned beasts ambushed us. This time, it's probably still the Moxin. I thought it was accidental before, but now it's clear it lied to me."
Luo Sha frowned tightly. "Your Moxin 's power is too great. I can accept it summoning green-skinned beasts, but this is the Golden Light Mystic Mirror."
"Can it really affect this space?"
"Could it be the Golden Light Mystic Mirror's doing?"
"I think we don't need to panic. If we're gone too long, my mother will notice something's wrong and come in to rescue us."
Lu Fang sighed. He asked the Moxin inwardly—under these circumstances, he needed to first confirm whether it was the Moxin 's doing; only then could he consider if something else was wrong.
" Moxin, do you really want to bring about mutual destruction? What benefit do you gain from trapping me here?"
He demanded.
Moxin: "Oh? How could you think it's my doing? This is the Golden Light Mystic Mirror—do I really have the power to influence it?"
Hearing the Moxin 's tone, Lu Fang's heart sank halfway.
He hadn't been wrong—this strange situation was indeed the Moxin 's doing.
It left him feeling heavy. The Moxin 's power surpassed his imagination; even the Golden Light Mystic Mirror, a supreme treasure, could be influenced by it.
This was too extreme.
He even suspected that, had it not been for certain reasons, the Moxin could have killed him outright.
Earlier, for reasons unknown, the Moxin had held back—but once it learned Lu Fang intended to erase it, it finally launched a direct attack.
"What did you do?"
Lu Fang asked inwardly, expressionless.
Moxin: "I didn't do much, really. But I was genuinely afraid—what if you actually erased me? I never want to relive that period when you sealed my consciousness."
"In a state of sorrow, I tried communicating with the Golden Light Mystic Mirror."
"To my surprise, the communication succeeded."
Lu Fang snorted. "You want to kill me?"
Moxin sighed. "I've said it many times—we're tied together on the same rope. If I kill you, I die too. Why would I kill you?"
"Want to leave here? Easy—just borrow my power. I didn't want to force you like this, but what you're planning makes me feel terribly unsafe."
Lu Fang smiled faintly. "If I borrow your power, you'll grow stronger. Then you'll probably take over my body entirely."
Moxin: "You think that way? It's unnecessary. I've never wanted to take over your body. I need very little space. To be honest, I've grown accustomed to this arrangement—whether you punish me or not."
Lu Fang didn't respond. "One thing puzzles me: you gain much from this, but what does the Golden Light Mystic Mirror gain?"
Moxin: "I didn't have to tell you, but since you asked—I'll say it. After this is done, it will gain a small portion of my power."
"So that's how it is."
Lu Fang sneered.
Seeing Lu Fang standing there lost in thought, then suddenly sneering, Luo Sha gently poked him and asked cautiously, "Marquis Wen Guan, are you conversing with that Moxin?"
"I don't know if it's on guard, but the first time we met, I could hear its voice. Now I can't hear anything at all."
Lu Fang nodded helplessly. "Yes, I was just talking to it. We're trapped here because of it."
"It communicated with the Golden Light Mystic Mirror, and that's why we're stuck."
"For now, people outside probably can't enter here either."
Luo Sha stared in disbelief. "You mean the Golden Light Mystic Mirror has consciousness? After communicating with your Moxin, it chose to trap us? Why?"
Lu Fang hesitated, then spoke plainly. "The Moxin wants me to use its power. The Golden Light Mystic Mirror wants to gain the Moxin 's power."
Luo Sha thought for a moment. "No—you must not use the Moxin 's power. It went to such lengths to create this situation just to force you into using it. There must be a trap."
"We'll see," Lu Fang said, sounding defeated.
Luo Sha insisted, "If you use the Moxin 's power, you risk letting it seize control. I advise you—"
Her words cut off abruptly.
Luo Sha frowned, staring at Lu Fang. "Your Moxin just radiated malice toward me."
Lu Fang's face darkened. "I felt nothing."
Moxin: "I dislike her. You still have a choice: kill her. She's the only one who knows my secret—and that's dangerous. If she reveals it, it'll be trouble for both of us."
"Kill her, and I'll let you leave."
"It's a fair deal—you remove your worry without needing to use my power."
Lu Fang laughed softly. "Do you know? You understand me even less than I thought. Do you really think I'd kill her?"
Moxin: "I suppose I must reassess you. You're very different from the image I had of you."
Luo Sha swallowed nervously. She'd heard the Moxin 's suggestion—Lu Fang killing her. It had clearly been meant for her to hear.
She firmly believed Lu Fang wasn't that kind of person.
Still, her heart pounded.
At that moment, an anomaly erupted—the Lu Fang and Luo Sha in the mirror smirked wickedly, then stepped out, staring coldly at the two of them.
"Marquis Wen Guan, look—the us in the mirror just came out!"
Luo Sha exclaimed in shock.
Lu Fang saw it too. His first thought: this was the Golden Light Mystic Mirror's doing. He'd already felt strange—why had he been pushed to use the Moxin 's power? Why not just wait for Luo Sha's mother to notice and rescue them?
