Chapter 186
The Spirit of the Mirror sneered, "In this space, I have no fear of powerful opponents, so don't struggle—you cannot defeat me."
Lu Fang raised an eyebrow and smiled, "I thought the same at first—after all, the mirror figures seemed endless. But after our conversation, I realized why you appear so strong: we've been focusing on the wrong thing."
"For example, we've poured too much energy into the mirror figures themselves."
"As a result, not only were they never eliminated, they grew stronger—clearly unnatural."
"What if, instead, we bypassed the mirror figures entirely and attacked you, the Mirror Spirit? I suspect there'd be some unexpected surprises."
He paused, then chuckled softly, "I suppose what the Demon Heart meant by 'seeing your pattern' was precisely this weakness."
Snow Luo Sha suddenly understood. "Of course! Why didn't I think of that? Attacking the mirror figures does nothing because you control them—so why not attack you directly?"
The Mirror Spirit's expression darkened instantly. "You two fools think you can do that?"
Lu Fang smiled and nodded. Without any visible movement, petals of peach blossom drifted down from above, forming a circular ring that locked onto the Mirror Spirit.
Clang!
The Fluorescent Moon Sword shot forth from Lu Fang's body, shattering the mirror figure the Mirror Spirit inhabited—in an instant, the figure exploded into countless fragments.
Yet the peach petals did not vanish; instead, they moved rapidly, as if an invisible figure were darting through them.
Lu Fang exhaled in relief. "Good. Just as I suspected—the Song of Buried Blossoms can lock onto your position. Now I can strike directly without wasting time searching for you."
Snow Luo Sha beamed. "You were hiding somewhere safe, watching us in secret—now you're exposed. You can't run anymore."
The invisible Mirror Spirit tried to dispel the Song of Buried Blossoms' lock, but it had no effect. It snarled, "You think this is enough to defeat me?"
Suddenly, countless mirror figures emerged from the surrounding mirrors—mostly resembling Lu Fang and Snow Luo Sha, but also others with different appearances, all with blank, vacant expressions.
"Even if you summon a thousand of these mirror figures, they pose no threat to us," Snow Luo Sha scoffed.
The Mirror Spirit possessed another mirror figure, its mouth splitting into a grotesque grin. Within moments, all the mirror figures merged into one towering monstrosity, over ten zhang tall.
Its face was square, with no ears—only two flat, square mirrors on either side. Where its body was exposed, there was no flesh or skin, only jagged seams where broken mirror shards had been reassembled.
"You really think I'm afraid of you?"
The Mirror Spirit's voice rasped, unnatural and distorted.
Boom!
Before Lu Fang and Snow Luo Sha could react, a colossal force hurled them backward, slamming them hard against the mirrors.
Creak…
A crushing weight, like a mountain descending, pressed down upon them.
Snow Luo Sha fainted instantly. Had Lu Fang not used the Power of Heaven and Earth to shield her, she would have been crushed into pulp.
Lu Fang had been wrong—the Mirror Spirit was not weak. He'd assumed its invincibility came only from invisibility and hiding.
The Demon Heart spoke timely: "Shall I lend you my power? You've already locked onto the Mirror Spirit with the Song of Buried Blossoms. With my strength, you can easily defeat it and leave this place."
"No."
Lu Fang snorted, his Power of Heaven and Earth surging violently.
The Mirror Spirit's gravitational pressure met Lu Fang's Power of Heaven and Earth—neither side held clear advantage.
Lu Fang rose and summoned the Book Spirit Yan Chixia. "Protect her here. Do not let her be harmed."
"Yes, Master."
Yan Chixia replied.
Lu Fang nodded slightly, his gaze fixed on the distant Mirror Spirit. "If I'm not mistaken, your strength is tied to the number of people here."
"You're the Mirror Spirit of the Gold-Light Mystic Mirror—you must have special abilities. Perhaps you're slightly stronger than I am."
"But that's not certain. My own hidden cards are no weaker than yours. So I propose we negotiate—end this peacefully. Otherwise, we'll both be destroyed."
Lu Fang stared straight at the Mirror Spirit.
The Mirror Spirit frowned. "You seem overly confident. I've been underestimated, haven't I? That's infuriating."
Lu Fang sighed. "You misunderstand. I'm not belittling you—I'm stating facts. Even ignoring my own strength, if I used the Demon Heart's power, you'd have zero chance."
The Mirror Spirit's eyes narrowed, intensifying the gravitational pressure on Lu Fang.
Yet seeing Lu Fang remain utterly unmoved, as if unaffected, the Mirror Spirit frowned and sensed deeper. "You can control the Power?"
Lu Fang did not answer. He drew a deep, forceful breath—and the space around him began to twist violently, as if all the Power of the realm were converging to crush him.
When the pressure reached its peak—
"Ahh!"
Lu Fang roared, and the compressed Power erupted outward in a sharp, blade-like burst.
An invisible force, unstoppable and devastating, slammed into the Mirror Spirit—its body shattered like glass into countless fragments.
This was the first time Lu Fang had unleashed the full power of his Heaven and Earth Power.
Its strength far exceeded his expectations. He'd only intended to scare the Mirror Spirit into negotiating peacefully.
But he'd shattered it outright.
Lu Fang clearly felt he had wounded the Mirror Spirit—but not killed it.
The flesh formed from the Mirror Spirit's fragments dissolved, and it reverted to its transparent state—the Song of Buried Blossoms still locked onto it.
"Damn it! Can't this cursed thing just disappear?"
The Mirror Spirit roared.
Lu Fang smiled faintly. As the Mirror Spirit scattered in all directions, he began gathering strength for a devastating strike. In a dozen breaths, he had amassed the power of five Souls.
Before the Mirror Spirit could react, the Green Dragon Crescent Blade slashed across its form.
Crash!
The slash did not kill the Mirror Spirit—but the nearest mirror surface shattered violently.
"You can transfer fatal damage onto these mirrors?"
Lu Fang swallowed a breath of book-scented Qi and shook his head. "No. With so many mirrors—if you could transfer fatal damage infinitely, you'd be invincible."
"So I deduce your ability to transfer fatal damage has limits."
