Chapter 66: The Informant

Let him come, and say he might be able to enter the Xuanlight Bubble Barrier.

Aweng Qi said solemnly.

Song Ce nodded and used a transmission talisman: “Why don’t you just come over? If you can enter the Xuanlight Bubble Barrier, there are ancient divine techniques inside.”

Wei Chaochun quickly replied: “Your location is too far, and it’s too close to the Yama lands—I couldn’t even enter without trying. Most people here can’t get into the transparent bubble barrier either, so I won’t come.”

Aweng Qi sighed deeply and said, “Ask him for his exact location.”

After Song Ce asked for Wei Chaochun’s precise location, Aweng Qi cautiously said to Chijue: “Your Highness, we can either wait here or adjust our plan—I recommend we adjust the plan.”

“Go on, tell me.”

Chijue frowned tightly.

Aweng Qi smiled and lowered his voice:

“Your Highness, the Golden-Haired Demon Monkey, having obtained ancient divine techniques, is issuing orders to the Yama, deliberately stationing his own kind farther south. Think about it—how many humans could possibly survive coming this far?”

“As a result, all the unclaimed qi and celestial treasures of humanity are being seized by the demonic clans. We planned this ambush, yet they’re reaping the benefits while we do the work.”

“Before, we could tolerate it—but now, with the circumstances as they are, we can adjust our plan and strike first, killing every single human.”

“With nearly two hundred elite Yama warriors, victory would be effortless.”

Aweng Qi’s face lit up with joy, as if he could already see the coming victory.

“Excellent!” Chijue gave Aweng Qi a look of deep appreciation and immediately ordered all the Yama to gather and march swiftly toward Wei Chaochun’s reported location.

“Damn it!” Baijinghu, seeing a massive force of Yama heading south, used a transmission talisman to confirm Chijue had changed plans—furious, he roared and summoned all the demonic clans to head south as well.

The demonic and Yama clans, like hounds spotting prey, raced desperately to devour this fat piece of human flesh.

Closer, closer, even closer!

Deep within a mountain range, the five-colored bubble barrier stood out vividly; beside it sat or stood Pei Kuang, Xue Luo Sha, Wei Chaochun…

All of them stood before the five-colored bubble, discussing how to eliminate the monstrous creatures within.

Chijue and Baijinghu arrived side by side; along the way, they had reached an agreement.

Each side would claim unclaimed human qi and celestial treasures by their own merit, but to prevent any humans from escaping, they split off a contingent to circle around from all four directions, like wrapping dumplings, trapping the humans in the center.

With so many demonic and Yama warriors moving, the noise was immense.

Xue Luo Sha raised an eyebrow, her expression grim as she scanned the surroundings: “Something’s wrong—I sense a massive number of demonic and Yama forces.”

Wang Teng chuckled: “Where’s this ‘massive force’? I only sense a few. These blind fools—we’ll…”

His voice cut off abruptly.

Before them, the air above the surrounding mountains swarmed with countless demonic and Yama warriors—they had been completely surrounded.

“Kill them all!”

“Attack!”

Chijue and Baijinghu shouted simultaneously.

Watching the charging demonic and Yama forces, Aweng Qi, who had stayed behind to guard Song Ce, smiled: “Song Ce, though you lack backbone, you’re obedient. This plan will succeed—”

Aweng Qi’s smile vanished instantly; his voice rose sharply: “What’s going on?”

As the demonic barbarians rushed into the air deep within the mountains, the expressionless Lingxiao Daoist swiftly formed several hand seals, and suddenly thirty-six Bagua small flags appeared, instantly shrouding the entire mountain range in thick fog.

The mist was nearly solid, obscuring everything beyond three feet.

Most shocking of all, when the demonic and Yama warriors reached out, they found the five-colored bubble barrier—and the humans inside—had vanished entirely.

Song Ce suddenly attacked, slapping Aweng Qi hard and preparing to retreat.

“Trying to run?”

Two Yama warriors beside him moved faster, blocking Song Ce from both front and back.

Puff!

As Song Ce barely formed his Confucian Qi Boat, a Yama warrior kicked him back—he struggled to rise but spat blood, collapsing weakly to the ground.

“Stop.” Aweng Qi halted the two Yama warriors from killing Song Ce, his face dark:

“You’ve ingested Yama Poison Pills—your entire Confucian Qi is suppressed. Without an antidote in seven days, you’ll beg for death; in fourteen, you’ll dissolve into blood. Dare you betray them?”

Setting up a formation like this requires an extremely long time.

The moment the demonic and Yama forces charged, the trap activated—meaning it had been prepared in advance. That means they knew the demonic and Yama clans would come to ambush them.

After racking his brain, only one explanation made sense: Song Ce had secretly leaked the information. Otherwise, none of this could be explained.

Song Ce spat out a mouthful of blood and sneered:

“You really think I’m stupid? After you wipe them out, do you think you’ll let me live? Become a demonic spy? With so many demonic and Yama warriors knowing this, how could that possibly work? As for the Yama Poison Pills—have you heard of ‘Scholarly Qi’? I tried it—it works wonders for detoxification.”

Aweng Qi growled: “Then how did you send the message?”

Song Ce gave a bitter smile: “Last time Wei Chaochun invited me to Wanhed Lou, we drank too much and fought. Later, with friends mediating, we buried the hatchet and swore never to go back to Wanhed Lou again.”

“The moment I sent my first message and heard he didn’t mention Wanhed Lou, I knew he understood!”

“That kid—he’s truly brilliant!”

Song Ce shook his head with a pained laugh, bitterness filling his mouth.

Aweng Qi snarled: “You think you’re clever? You think you’ve won? How laughable! Nearly four hundred demonic and Yama warriors—even with your human formation, you’ll all die here, and you’ll die with them!”

“Die with them? I doubt it!”

Wei Chaochun stepped out of the fog, sneering as he walked toward Aweng Qi.

“Die!” Aweng Qi punched toward Song Ce.

A swirl of black mist appeared before Song Ce, blocking the blow—Shui Yao emerged from the mist, her eyes narrowing.

Black mist surged from the two Yama warriors, coiling tightly around their necks as their bodies froze solid.

Crack! Shui Yao struck them both with two palms, reducing them to shattered fragments.

Seeing the tide turn, Aweng Qi turned to flee—but Wei Chaochun caught up and killed him.

“Thank you, young lady, for saving my life,” Song Ce bowed to Wei Chaochun as he approached.

“While the demonic and Yama are trapped in the formation, let’s get out of here? I thought you understood my message—just avoid falling for their trap. Why did you deliberately lure them here? Before I saw the formation, I thought you hadn’t figured it out.”

Wei Chaochun rubbed his nose. “That was Lord Wenguan’s idea. No need to leave—Lingxiao’s formation will hold them. We plan to annihilate every last one of them.”
