Chapter 404: Ten Thousand Subscriptions Acknowledgment

Ten Thousand Subscriptions Acknowledgment

Ten Thousand Subscriptions Acknowledgment

Finally reached ten thousand subscriptions!

Lately there’ve been too many things going on—I originally didn’t plan to write any acknowledgments, but since this is still a moment of honor, I chose to write them anyway.

With “Entertainment China 1997,” “Who Are You Calling a Realist?,” and now this one, “Entertainment Intelligence King,” I’ve already written three ten-thousand-subscription novels in the entertainment genre.

I wouldn’t dare call myself the leader in the Qidian entertainment field, but I suppose I’m among its representative authors.

Let me cross my arms and feel just a little proud!

In my memory, the hardest one to reach ten thousand subscriptions was “Entertainment China 1997.”

Back then, Qidian had no anti-piracy measures, ten-thousand-subscription entertainment novels were extremely rare, and my book was stuck at eight to nine thousand average subscriptions, crawling upward painfully slowly.

I was nearly ready to give up when I caught the wave of Qidian’s anti-piracy rollout and surged past, becoming one of the earliest entertainment novels on Qidian to hit ten thousand subscriptions.

Now, it’s also the best-performing of the three, with an average subscription count nearing 19,000.

“Who Are You Calling a Realist?” reached ten thousand subscriptions the easiest.

It seemed to hit ten thousand just two or three months after launch, then I messed it up.

Its current average subscription is over 14,000—still decent, but it could’ve been much better.

Then there’s this current one, “Entertainment Intelligence King.”

After half a year of serialization, with around 1.2 million words, it hit ten thousand subscriptions—neither soaring nor sinking, just like its style: steady as a rock.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m still writing it, but personally, I feel “Entertainment Intelligence King” has been the most exhausting of the three.

I’ve mentioned this before in the group and in the novel itself: the first two books totaled nearly six million words, and I’d already used up most of the plot tropes—it’s been incredibly hard to find fresh ideas.

So from the very beginning, I went full throttle into “stepping on landmines.”

System, native characters, behind-the-scenes protagonist, obscure female leads and supporting roles—all these elements stacked together would likely kill off many new entertainment authors. Getting to ten thousand subscriptions at all is, to some extent, me cashing in on past reputation.

This has left me feeling insecure and anxious, as if I’ve hit a wall in the entertainment genre, even wondering if I’ve grown tired of writing it.

If nothing unexpected happens, my next novel might consider switching genres.

Not necessarily a full transformation—just seeking some fresh creative inspiration for myself.

Still, reaching ten thousand subscriptions is always a happy thing.

I also thank here all my readers who subscribe, vote, and tip.

Extra chapters will definitely be added!

But as everyone knows my current situation—I’m not begging for sympathy—besides the time lost to injections and acupuncture, because of my facial paralysis, my right eye can’t move, I can’t blink, and staring at my phone nonstop makes writing extremely tiring.

Even keeping up with normal updates is difficult now, and I still owe a mountain of backlogged chapters, so adding extra chapters must be put on hold for now.

I can’t do more than this: for ten thousand subscriptions, I’ll add ten thousand words.

Including previous backlogs: two days’ absence (16,000 words) plus scattered unpaid words (6,000), totaling 32,000 words owed.

Since I don’t know when I’ll recover, I don’t know if I can clear this debt this month—please be lenient, keep a record, and I’ll repay it once I’m well again.

Finally, thank you again to all my friends for your support—deeply grateful.
