Chapter 154: Emperor Selection

"Stefanie, may I ask if your new album is truly already in production? There are rumors that you might be trying a new style in the new album; is that true?"

"May I ask, Yanzi, what you have to say about Zhou Yi stating in an interview two days ago that you have been delaying giving him money?"

"May I ask..."

Two days after Zhou Yi made up those words off the cuff, Sun Yanzi, who was finally dragged out by Chen Zeshan to work, after finishing an event, faced the surging tide of reporters and politely smiled without showing her teeth: "The matter of the new album is indeed being prepared, and I have indeed thought about trying one or two songs in a new style, but currently it is still in the stage of collecting songs, that's all."

"As for the matter of not giving money, I think you should go ask General Manager Zhou Jianhui."

When speaking to this point, Sun Yanzi playfully stuck out her tongue: "I am just a singer; I understand nothing."

"Then, may I ask what your opinion is on the female group Twins, which recently officially released an EP album? The two members of Twins, A-Jiao and A-Sa, both appeared in the MV for Zhou Yi's second album 'Jiangnan'; do you feel your status is threatened?"

"???"

Sun Yanzi, who had been holed up in the hotel these past few days eating and sleeping, sleeping and eating, and going out to play with Zhou Yi whenever free to kill time, living a life more comfortable than a god, was suddenly stunned in her heart—

Who are Twins?

"Uh, although I don't know why you would think that, I feel you might have some misunderstandings about the relationship between Zhou Yi and me."

Facing the camera, Sun Yanzi, with no expression on her face, quietly steered the topic away, unconsciously raised her right hand to smooth the hair slightly scattered on her forehead, and smiled: "He and I are just very, very good friends."

"As everyone knows, Zhou Yi and I knew each other before debuting, happened to be at Warner, and our debut times were also similar, so we just get along better than others."

"Do you mean Zhou Yi is indeed dating one of the members of Twins?"

"No, no, no, I didn't say that; you people must not report this randomly; it's better to ask him yourself." Hearing this, Sun Yanzi shook her head like a rattle drum.

After the Sprite official event ended, Sun Yanzi directly asked her assistant to gather some information on the origins of this Twins—

"Emperor Entertainment's artists Cai Zhuoyan and Gillian Chung recently released the group's first self-titled EP album 'Twins', officially announcing their debut; sales results are explosive..."

Heaven can bear witness; Sun Yanzi can swear to heaven that she really didn't pay much attention to outside news these past few days.

Seeing the press releases bought by Emperor Entertainment, and having said nothing wrong during the interview, Sun Yanzi, after feeling relieved, felt a certain curiosity about the two of them—

"Zhou Yi Shows His Power Again! Twins Explode to Fame Upon Debut!"

"Husband-Luck Constitution! Zhou Yi's MV Heroines Become Stars Again!"

"Emperor Selection: Zhou Yi Busy Day and Night!"

"..."

After the first album's Chen Hao was selected to star alongside Liu Ruoying in the famous manga-adapted drama 'Pink Lady' thanks to the 'Huatian Cuo' MV and rose to fame, Zhou Yi, after releasing his second album, directly made the superstitious entertainment industry start to doubt and believe him—

The lead song 'Jiangnan' MV heroine Liu Tao, not only rose to fame in the mainland entertainment circle with her performance, but also secured many opportunities to appear on screen.

The 'Da Cheng Xiao Ai' MV heroine Wang Xinling, even more so, won the favor of Avex, the number one giant in the Japanese record industry, with her sweet performance in the MV, becoming the first local Taiwanese artist signed under Avex (Taiwan), which planned to enter the Taiwanese market.

Fan Bingbin, after quarreling with Qiong Yao, not only had her development blocked, but instead signed with legendary manager Chen Shuhua and got the female lead role in 'Young Bao Qingtian 2'.

Originally, this was enough to label Zhou Yi with metaphysical colors, but who would have expected that on August 12, Twins, officially debuting as a group leveraging the fame from appearing in Zhou Yi's MV, saw their self-titled EP album sell in less than a week, showing a trend of becoming this year's Hong Kong New King.

Although the explosion of these two was not without the operation of their backer company Emperor, for the superstitious Hong Kong entertainment circle, Zhou Yi's continuous string of 'bringing luck' since his debut was truly a bit frightening.

He doesn't just bring luck to himself; he brings luck to others too!

Watching Chen Hao, Wang Xinling, Liu Tao, Fan Bingbin, and others act or sign with giants with their own eyes, and now with the sudden emergence of the Twins group, countless models and actors across the two sides and the three regions had their eyeballs almost turning green—

They wished they could run to Zhou Yi's side right now to offer themselves, get a spot as an MV heroine, and suck up some of that fiery luck.

"Compared to other singers' MVs in the music scene, you are now like Tang Seng's flesh; everyone who sees you wants to take a bite. Even after quarreling with Chow Yun-fat, you remained safe and sound; the outside world now even has the term 'Zhou Girl'."

In the Warner (Hong Kong) building, Qian Jiang, having received an invitation from Emperor, looked at Zhou Yi with a strange expression: "Do you know how many people's phones I received calls from these past two days?"

"How many?"

"58."

"... So many?" Zhou Yi, hearing this number for the first time, was also somewhat surprised.

"You might have underestimated the level of superstition in the Hong Kong entertainment circle, especially since this time you actually overturned Chow Yun-fat; not only were you unscathed, but Chow Yun-fat also had a large chunk of flesh torn off by you."

When speaking to this point, Qian Jiang's tone inevitably paused: "Do you know what Chow Yun-fat has been doing these past few days?"

Zhou Yi curled his lips: "Lost endorsements and hiding at home crying?"

"No, he went to Thailand to visit White Dragon King."

"...???"

What the heck?

"You didn't contact the Hong Kong and Taiwan entertainment circles before, so you might not know the fame of this person, White Dragon King."

When speaking of this man, Qian Jiang's wording was also somewhat cautious: "He has a very high status among Chinese celebrity groups in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and has guided many people."

"Chow Yun-fat took such a big fall on you this time and couldn't get his face back, so he plans to ask White Dragon King to guide him."

"Guess what White Dragon King said?"

"No interest."

Regarding Qian Jiang's words, Zhou Yi was somewhat uninterested; after lazily yawning, he took the invitation letter from Qian Jiang's hand—

The invitation letter to Twins' celebration party.

On August 21, Emperor will hold a celebration party for Twins; to show respect, they specially sent an invitation letter to Zhou Yi.

"Can't go, can't go; I still have to go back to the mainland to shoot an MV. Recording a video is enough; the paparazzi here in Hong Kong are somewhat disturbing; even sleeping feels uncomfortable."

After glancing at it once, Zhou Yi directly refused; he had stayed in Hong Kong long enough.

Moreover, Twins, who had just released an EP album, hadn't reached the point of truly lighting up half the sky yet; the reason they had this heat now was purely because they were riding on the fame of him and Xie Tingfeng; recording a VCR to send over was already considered acceptable.

Not until the song 'Love Is Greater Than Heaven' from the first official album in November is released will these two truly start their long-term popularity.

However, what surprised Zhou Yi was that, from some time unknown, some news about Chow Yun-fat visiting White Dragon King suddenly appeared on the market—

"'The Purple Star Descends, The Nine-Five Supreme!':

"It is learned that Chow Yun-fat, unwilling to be humiliated, recently returned from visiting White Dragon King in Thailand; White Dragon King advised Chow Yun-fat not to contend with a person having the Emperor's fate, otherwise the one who suffers in the end will always be himself..."

"'Zhou Yi: The Appearance of an Emperor': White Dragon King claims Zhou Yi's fate is too noble to be spoken of!"

"The Merit of the Dragon! The Secret Behind Warner Music's Sudden Rise!"

"Three Palaces, Six Courts, and Seventy-Two Concubines—Wang Guan's 'Empress Palace' was determined long ago!"

"..."

In the early millennium when superstition ran rampant, a piece of guidance the White Dragon King gave to Chow Yun-fat was leaked by someone.

Benefiting from the previous "Supreme Emperor," media reporters who found the angle began frantically stacking buffs on Zhou Yi; many who believed in fate even pulled up lists of all the MV heroines from Zhou Yi's recent two albums—

This further cemented Zhou Yi's private reputation as the Little Emperor.

As Sun Yanzi, who became famous a step ahead of Zhou Yi and was hailed as "Male Zhou, Female Sun," had a "Queen" Wang Guan inexplicably placed on her head...
