Chapter 417: Sorry, My Condition Has Been Terrible Lately — Staying Up Late Has Fried My Brain

~3 min read 449 words

Sorry, my condition lately has been terrible — staying up late has fried my brain.

How should I put it, it's my own problem; lately my condition has been awful from pulling all-nighters.

This stretch of plot was actually written after I adjusted the direction; it wasn't originally like this.

At first I was confident, thinking that with my ability I could control the plot even if I changed it on the fly.

But because staying up late slowed my brain's thinking more and more, the revised plot ended up not feeling good to read.

I really could only keep it from collapsing, but the progression of the storyline was pretty mediocre.

Anyone who often stays up late knows that when you hit a certain tipping point, your brain feels utterly exhausted — there's this floaty, half-ascending-to-immortality kind of sensation.

Memory, focus, thinking — everything takes a nosedive.

This past month, basically whenever I wasn't catching up on sleep, I've been in that state.

On top of that, my blind pursuit of novelty made me switch to a new way of writing the content, and with the negative state piling on, my mental condition just got smashed to pieces.

Sometimes I even post to the wrong place — my brain has already drifted into that foggy state of "I have no idea what I just did."

The payoff of a few foreshadowing threads also came across as flat because of my poor condition.

I can't keep going like this, so this time I'm taking two days off to adjust myself before I get back to writing.

Also, on the career front — there's honestly not much left for Zhou Yi to write about now: one album each domestically and internationally per year, and that's about it.

That's the limitation and drawback of a singer-story.

Twelve months in a year, set aside the four or five months around the two albums, and there's a seven- to eight-month dormant period in the year.

Unless he starts acting, those seven or eight months are really hard to get through.

So you can see me expanding all kinds of side plots.

Wanting to switch to a new writing style and new content is also because I want to fill in that long dormant period as much as possible.

But unfortunately, because of my own condition, I didn't handle that transition well — my fault, sorry.

This time I'm taking two days off to rest and adjust.

One day isn't enough, because today I only slept four hours.

Today is the 10th — I'm taking two days off to rest and adjust, to properly recover my condition. Update at 6 p. m. on the 12th.
