Chapter 115: The Miracle Landing
The ordeal of Ms. Audrey He Ben has undoubtedly become a recent hot news topic. Unlike the treatment of Hollywood stars who previously appeared on the entertainment pages, this time it is on the politics and society pages.
Appearing on the politics page is because it involves the coup and split in Somalia. Ms. Audrey He Ben's children's visit activity was like the ending song of a play, blowing out the Democratic Republic of Somalia established since 1969.
Appearing on the society page is, of course, due to the Italian captain's miraculous night emergency landing, saving the eight people on board; everyone was unscathed.
All professionals in the same field believe that aside from Captain Luca's flawless operation during the gliding phase, the final outcome must be attributed to good luck!
Otherwise, in the absence of lighting, even if the emergency landing site was soft sand, if the plane's landing posture was slightly off, once it caused a rollover, the ending would not be like today.
By then, everyone would not be praising a hero, but mourning a big star who sacrificed herself while engaging in public welfare activities.
The focus of all news media is on only two people: one is, of course, the big star Audrey He Ben, and the other is the Italian legendary captain, Luca Rizzo.
Henry Brown is jokingly called the lucky little assistant. A Hollywood-born extra, on his first job as an assistant, encountered such an event. Although he ultimately returned alive, whether this counts as luck or misfortune is a matter of debate.
But as Henry wished, the coverage about him was not much; there was not even a single word of report. He successfully hid himself from the public eye.
But wherever one walks, traces are left. Henry truly has no confidence in hiding himself from certain organizations or certain people, even if he can hide from the public.
This is not doubting that the CIA agents like Brian leaked the secret, but that there are too many strange abilities in this world. As long as one does something, it is inevitable to be exposed in the eyes of these people.
The difference lies in how these people will use such intelligence. Will they ignore it, make a huge fuss, or seek ways to profit themselves?
Since Henry can guess this point and still asked Brian and others to keep it secret, such behavior is merely a token gesture. Just to prevent too many people from knowing his secret.
If someone really helps promote it for him... then so be it. What else could be done? Kill them to silence them?
Unless living deep in the mountains and forests, isolated from society, the exposure of abilities is a matter of time. The focus is on the subsequent development, which can only be dealt with according to the situation.
Walking on the streets of 1990s New York, the various atmospheres here prove that this is the undisputed world financial center. The bustling scene, even placed twenty or thirty years later, is unattainable for many cities.
Looking up at the skyscrapers whose tops cannot be seen, the colorful neon light billboards, the noisy traffic, the most beautiful women, the most handsome men, fashionable and unfashionable, fill every corner.
Even the scent of money that rushes into the nostrils is something not smelled elsewhere. This makes the city appear so unique.
Especially the Empire State Building, where the big King Kong climbed up for his beloved woman and openly masturbated on the roof, is a key sightseeing spot for Henry.
But this is also the center of Marvel Universe disasters that Henry originally wanted to stay away from. However, Ms. He Ben is waiting to enter the United Nations to give a report at the Children's Fund, so she cannot leave temporarily.
Actually, the United Nations does not force personnel to stay in New York; they just need to appear at the agreed time. But considering Ms. He Ben's advanced age of sixty and the fatigue of the journey, she simply stayed behind, taking the opportunity to participate in some public welfare fundraising activities.
The main reason is that the rumored soulmate, Mr. Robert Wolders, also flew to New York to meet with the lady.
Even the lady's two sons, Sean Farrel and Luca Dotti, took time out of their busy schedules to come to New York to see their mother.
Today is a rare day off. The lady's agent did not schedule her itinerary as full as when she was young; there is always some time to steal leisure from busyness.
Moreover, Ms. He Ben attaches great importance to family; no one can pull her out of the time spent with her family.
So Henry took the opportunity while the lady and her family were resting in the hotel to stroll on the street, mainly to find food.
During these days, eating, drinking, and lodging were all paid for with public funds. Even though he could not sit at the same table with the lady's family, the meals eaten were of the same high level of Western cuisine.
And a major disadvantage of the separate dining system is that the portion is fixed. If some high-end restaurants want to add a meal temporarily, they will be rolled eyes at by the chef!
So for this period, Henry has been in a semi-full state, too embarrassed to ask for extra portions or larger amounts. This is quite disadvantageous for a Kryptonian who is still developing(!?), let alone Henry who was once afraid of hunger.
Therefore, whenever there is a chance, Henry will run out to find food. Anyway, spending his own money, he can eat however he wants; no one can control him. After eating, he takes a walk.
The United Nations Building is located in Manhattan, the most bustling area of New York, near the famous Central Park. Ms. He Ben lives in a nearby hotel, and Henry, the little assistant, also got a bargain, living the life of a New York upper-class person.
The reason that made New York's Central Park famous is not that the scenery here is so pleasant, nor that this park has any special protected landscapes or historical sites.
Simply because in this land where an inch of land is worth an inch of gold in Manhattan, there is actually a park of such a large area; it can be said that it is paved with gold bricks.
So when walking in the park, Henry enjoys every step costing a penny; even if the sole of the shoe rubs some dirt, it might be worth a few cents. It makes people unconsciously want to take one step and retreat two steps to show respect for this high-priced land.
Just don't know if taking a bucket and a small shovel to scoop some dirt from the park and deposit it directly into the bank would work? Maybe if you tell those snobbish bank clerks that this is dirt from New York's Central Park, they would get so excited that they would kneel down to worship.
Just as a certain Kryptonian was having wild thoughts, a familiar voice called out to stop him. "Henry, here."
Turning his head to look, sure enough, Ms. Audrey He Ben was standing by the artificial lake, waving to Henry.
She wore a large-brimmed ivory-yellow gauze sun hat, a sleeveless goose-yellow top with a large bow on her right shoulder. Paired with a beige-based black-and-yellow plaid skirt and a white belt, the overall look had a strong girlish style.
But worn by this lady, it was dazzling and shining, with no sense of mismatch at all. Especially reflecting the sunlight flashing over the lake, the whole person seemed to be glowing.
Henry didn't think much and jogged over. "Boss, why did you run out alone? Didn't you say you would rest in the hotel and accompany your family?"
"Suddenly thought of going to find an old friend. But the children are grown up and don't want to follow. Even Robert has his own things he wants to do. So you accompany me on this trip, Henry."
"Of course, Boss." Henry did not object.
Day 7, celebrating the release, one extra update at 9 PM tonight.
