Chapter 246
Fury (Black) hadn't forgotten that the Infinity Formula serum needed regular injections to exert its function of delaying aging.
If the injections were stopped, even if the body was still in a healthy state, it would collapse in a very short time, and then death would come.
Fury (White) said calmly, "I don't care about my own death. If I could take away a group of parasites, it would be even more valuable."
"I don't deny the contribution of old money to society, but I can't agree with their attitude toward pursuing life. You absolutely can't imagine how bold these people are."
Fury (Black) asked about the key point of the matter, saying, "If the raw materials are gone, just find a way to get them. Is there anything on this Earth that can stump them?"
"You've already said the answer. There really isn't on Earth, but outside of Earth, that's not necessarily the case." Fury (White) sneered.
The confused Fury (Black) asked, "What raw material is not on Earth?"
"Kree blood."
"Kree? What is that?"
Fury (White) said, "An alien race. After World War II, we accidentally captured a crashed alien aircraft. The blood of the dead pilot, combined with the improved incomplete anti-aging drug Infinity Formula, created the SSS agent, commonly known as the Infinity Formula."
"As a race that hasn't even crossed the solar system yet, no one can expect that kind of resource, which is similar to a meteorite, to be delivered by aliens themselves after it's used up."
"So that pilot was drained dry by you?" Fury (Black) said in surprise.
"Including bone marrow, body fluids, not a drop left."
"I'm just curious, who would take a dead alien to make a drug that normal people have to swallow or inject into their bodies? And the most bizarre point is that you actually had the guts to take it!"
Fury (White) explained, "At first, that Japanese scientist prisoner didn't say what the raw material was. We were soldiers and could only obey." Operation Paperclip wasn't just targeting Japanese scientists.
And during World War II, don't think that only Hydra were the bad guys and everyone else were the good guys. All the warring nations, whether they won or lost, weren't good things. In the war, they had all done inhumane things; it just depends on how later generations interpret it.
Regarding his father's explanation, Fury (Black) didn't know whether to laugh or be angry. He said, "So you came to me now, planning to rely on me for your retirement? Then can I ask how much inheritance there is?"
Fury (White) said unhappily, "You don't need to worry about that kind of thing; I have my own arrangements. It's just that there are some things that really need to be entrusted to you in advance."
"Say it, I'll decide whether to do it based on my mood."
"After I die, I will put this eye of mine in the old place. Remember to go get it and keep it safe." The one-eyed Nick Fury (White) pointed to his intact eyeball.
"Why? Don't you think it would be more useful to leave me something more valuable?"
"This eyeball is registered in the bureau's biometric system and has the highest clearance. Maybe one day you'll use it, but the chance might only be once or twice. So use it cautiously."
"Can it launch a nuclear bomb?" Fury (Black) mocked.
"Some intelligence is more dangerous than a nuclear bomb. When your level is high enough, you'll know why."
Fury (Black) snorted coldly, noncommittal.
Taking a file bag from the inside of his black leather coat, Fury (White) threw it on the table and said, "This is a suggestion: build a team that belongs to you, one that no one else knows about."
"In this file are some candidates I've collected who should be useful. You have to find a way to conquer them yourself, and then find a way to raise funds to support them."
"This is your own strength; that organizational set is not safe at all. If you can't do this, it means you only have this much ability."
Fury (Black) didn't even look at the file bag on the table and sneered, "Instead of making this suggestion, you might as well give me the command of the Howling Commandos."
"That team belongs to Captain America, and now it's Carter's. I'm just one of the members and don't have command, so how can I give it to you? And you can't convince the public either. Go form your own team; don't embarrass yourself in front of that group of veterans."
"I also fought in the Vietnam War," Fury (Black) said dissatisfiedly.
Fury (White) sneered, "Bullying a group of monkeys in the jungle and still losing? I can imagine what kind of attitude you'll be sprayed with when you go to see that group of old buddies."
"Although we got some mutants to fight, it's one thing not to play to their advantages, but the most ruthless backstabbing was actually done by our own people. Do you want me to tell you more?"
Now Fury (Black) had nothing to say; he silently flipped through the file contents. He wanted to look through it hastily, but when he saw the first content, he couldn't help but look a few more times, and then came to a conclusion: "This Henry Brown is sick, right?"
The one-eyed Nick Fury (White) recalled when he first saw this person's information, he had the same thought. But he said, "You can't deny that this person is worth cultivating."
Fury (Black) summarized the information on the paper and said, "Education is blank, but the comment is that he is very smart and can speak multiple languages. Knows Tony Stark and Katharine Hepburn. Was a background actor in Hollywood."
"Possesses mutant ability to be invulnerable, but doesn't know the upper limit of hardness; known that pistol bullets can't produce effective damage at close range. Now he has become a freelance service provider for the Continental Hotel. He is the Fixman!"
Fury (White) said, "Can attack, can do logistics, and is very smart. It can be said that as long as he is cultivated, he is a talent with no shortcomings in all aspects."
Flipping to the second page, Fury (Black) let out a sigh of admiration and laughter. He said, "It seems City Councilman Mike Horton wouldn't agree with your statement. Found him to be a bodyguard, but he still died himself."
"That Black man was just an idiot, thinking everyone would be threatened and lured by him. Obviously, this guy is someone who eats soft but not hard, and he has the capital not to eat hard. From his work experience, you should also be able to infer roughly."
Fury (Black) looked at it and said, "Crabbing in Alaska, Hollywood background actor, Audrey Hepburn's last assistant before her death, freelance service provider for the Continental Hotel."
"According to unclear intelligence, the Mellon family and the Stark family have both extended olive branches, but he hasn't given a positive response. In summary, this person cannot be coerced or lured by ordinary means. This is also the main reason for City Councilman Horton's death."
"Calling it the main reason is a bit of an exaggeration. But he really didn't use this person well."
Fury (Black), who put down the file, said: "From his experience, human feelings are a means that have a chance to control him. Because of all his work, only the time as Audrey Hepburn's assistant was the longest."
"It can be said that if this has-been star hadn't died, he might have continued to do it. Can beauty seduce him? Although we don't have specially trained swallows, there are agents who are good at seduction."
Fury (White) finished the beer, stood up and said, "Being willing to stay by an old woman's side for more than two years, what he values is not just beauty. If you use the wrong method, you will only push him further away. This kind of person is the most troublesome."
"Leaving?"
"Because you didn't play any role, I have to investigate River Phoenix's death problem myself. We probably won't meet again in the future. When you receive my news, remember to go get the things."
"One last question, how will your S.H.I.E.L.D. handle it? Director."
Fury (White) thought for a while and said frankly, "Ms. Carter tends to let the two sides merge and reorganize, and is already negotiating relevant matters with Director Alexander Pierce."
"Because our side was originally a support organization for the Howling Commandos. After Ms. Carter retired, no one could continue to organize these people. If the Howling Commandos were disbanded, we would have no need to exist."
"I see."
"At that time, 'Nick Fury' will be transferred to the jurisdiction of Director Alexander Pierce as a representative of the Strategic Hazard Intervention and Espionage Logistics Directorate. This is the last thing I can help you with. Take care of yourself." After Fury (White) finished speaking, he left.
Leaving Fury (Black) in his apartment, looking at the file on the table, his expression was uncertain.
