Chapter 68: Young Master Stark

~7 min read 1,310 words

Although he still wanted to continue cursing, the sound of the assistant director gathering the extras had already reached his super hearing.

Henry hurriedly grabbed a few donuts and stuffed them into his mouth. Then he gulped down a cola, and with a belly full of resentment, continued his work for the day.

The young man, stunned by the scolding, had never felt so aggrieved in his life. But he was not discouraged or helpless; rather, he was pondering words for a counterattack.

But before the words could leave his mouth, his opponent had run away! What was the difference between this and a low-class poker player who wins money and then runs?

He wanted to get up and chase the person, but he couldn't bear to let go of the cheeseburger that was still more than half full in his hand. "Sigh, don't run away." Only then did he notice a large black man in a chef's uniform standing nearby.

The old black man was certainly not someone like Henry who had never seen the world; he knew exactly who this young man was, eating the burger and unable to put it down.

It was just that the scene just now had scared him silly. He never expected that a newly made friend would have a conflict with this person!

Not until Henry hurriedly left and most of the people in the dining area had gone did he finally come to his senses, step forward, and greet: "Young Master Stark."

Tony Stark did not reply; he just looked at this large black man who had recognized him with some impatience.

The old black man introduced himself: "Young Master, I am Wei Sili Washington. The head chef of the chef team you hired."

"Oh, it's you. I remember you." Tony Stark held up the food he had eaten a little less than half of and said, "The burger is very good. At least it proves that hiring you was the right decision."

The old black man, Wei Sili, wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "Yes, Young Master, I must be honest with you. This is a new recipe, researched by me and that person just now. I am honored to add it to my cooking, and in the future you can enjoy it again."

"But regarding what just happened, could I request your generosity to forgive him this one time? I will tell him your identity, make him understand respect, and ensure there will be no further offenses."

The old black man pleaded on Henry's behalf.

At this point, if he still didn't know who the biggest star in the film production team was, he would have wasted all his time seeing these rich people in the sky.

Stark, a surname Americans cannot avoid since World War II. Stark Industries' products range from civil projects to military projects; although the variety produced is not large, whenever they make something, it is inevitably a masterpiece in that field.

Key point! Howard Stark had an excellent relationship with the US military. As an unaffiliated scientist, he frequently appeared in military research programs, sometimes as the lead and sometimes as an advisor.

With such a background, pulling out the battleship Missouri for a spin while it was in service was not a difficult matter. Even if they needed it, they could probably pull out an aircraft carrier task force.

Wei Sili certainly did not want his new friend to offend this person to death, so he helped plead. In this regard, he could be considered a very loyal person, rather than someone who, when facing danger, only thought about running faster than his companions.

Tony Stark did not answer directly but asked, "He left immediately after cursing; what is going on?"

"He should be preparing for filming. The other actors like him have also mostly left."

"Is he also an actor? The lead? A supporting role?" Tony Stark only remembered who the female lead of this movie was and the need to borrow the battleship Missouri. He paid no attention to the rest, which is why he asked now.

"Young Mas..."

"Do not call me Young Master, and do not call me Mr. Stark; that will remind me of another Stark. You can call me Tony." The young man, still in his rebellious phase, emphasized this.

"Okay, Tony. He is just an extra, not the lead, nor a supporting role. He really is not worth your effort to deal with..."

The old black man's words were interrupted again. Tony Stark, while eating the burger, said, "This taste is really good. If I told him to come be my personal chef, would he agree?"

Wei Sili was stunned, then said, "I believe this would be Henry's honor, but I think he would not agree."

"How do you know?"

"Because I also tried to recruit him to be my assistant, even helping him start his own career. But Henry did not agree."

"He refused? The salary you offered was too low." The child of a wealthy family's first instinct was that the money wasn't enough.

The old black man said in panic, "No, no, no. I gave him a fixed annual salary of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. If he worked with me on catering jobs, he would also receive a separate bonus each time. This is much higher than his pay as an extra."

Tony Stark certainly would not understand that an annual salary of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars was already more than three times the average salary in the United States.

He just recalled another matter, related to a few keywords spoken by that man.

Caltech, stupid questions, idiot. Especially the last item, it only made him think of Jia Siding Hammer.

This certainly did not mean that Caltech had only one idiot. It meant that among the idiots worthy of being remembered by Tony Stark, there was only this one.

So many clues were enough for Tony Stark to recall the scene at the rest area outside the library, where Jia Siding Hammer used a question about a space shuttle returning to Earth to fish out a passerby who could calculate the answer at a glance.

Possessing super calculation ability was nothing special to Tony Stark. Especially those students from the Eastern Kingdom, each one comparable to a human electronic calculator.

But this person also had excellent cooking skills; one could only say that even a genius had not given up on the taste of life. This was very good, much better than those one-sided geniuses who could not take care of themselves.

And then this person's job was to be an extra in Hollywood... Was he sick?

Any one of the above three traits appearing alone in a person would not be worth Tony Stark's attention.

But with all three together, one had to say that even with Tony's extensive experience, he would be interested in such a patient. He wanted to cut open the person's brain to see exactly where the knot was or which nerve was missing.

"With a better job available, why did that guy insist on being an actor? Does he really want to become a big star so badly?" Tony Stark asked.

At the same time, he was thinking in his heart: if the other person wants to become a star, what should I do to make him submit?

However, the old black man also knew what Henry was thinking. He said, "I asked him. He doesn't want to be very famous. It's just because he likes Lady He Ben, so he came to Hollywood to see the world. Maybe when he gets tired of it, he will find another job."

"Oh, when he gets tired of it." Tony Stark repeated the sentence with a playful tone.
