Chapter 75

~7 min read 1,366 words

The atmosphere of the Stark couple's funeral was very serious and mournful. Nothing strange happened, at least no one jumped out to claim that they were old Stark's illegitimate child and wanted a share of the family property.

Katharine actually wanted to talk to Tony, but never had the chance.

It wasn't that there were too many people gathered around the future head of Stark Industries to get a number. It was that she couldn't even find the person, no matter who wanted to talk, they couldn't.

Young Master Tony was only seen when he was carrying his mother's coffin, and at the final burial stage. As soon as the ceremony ended, he disappeared without a trace.

Henry didn't deliberately use his super senses to find people. After all, even if he found them, he didn't know what he could do.

Was he afraid that this young master, who was still in his rebellious period, would blow up his own father and mother's grave? Even if he really blew it up, it wasn't Henry's business; that was the family's business.

Seeing that there was no chance to talk, and feeling a bit tired. Arriving in New York late last night, and getting up especially early in the morning, tossing for half a day, for Katharine, who was over eighty years old, it was truly exceeding the standard.

So Katharine found Jarvis, paid her respects to the other party, and was about to leave. Although she was qualified to attend the subsequent funeral banquet.

However, Audrey and Henry, who accompanied her to pay their respects, didn't have a close enough relationship with the Stark family. The funeral banquet was only aimed at family relatives or close friends, so Katharine simply left with Audrey.

What the evaluation of Howard Stark was after his death, Henry couldn't judge. But the funeral, which had been tossing until the afternoon, the sky was dark, and it even started to drizzle, as if God was also mourning this passing.

Henry held a large umbrella, walked behind the two Ms. Hepburns, shielding them from the drizzle. All the way to the car in the parking lot.

After sending the two ladies into the car, Henry took off his suit jacket before getting into the car, shook it slightly to shake off the raindrops, and then sat in the driver's seat.

Unexpectedly, just as he sat down, someone broke into the passenger seat.

This damn car was rented! Otherwise, Henry would definitely have punched him out, blowing the person and the car door away together.

"Drive." Sitting in the passenger seat, burying his body in the seat was Tony Stark.

He spoke in a listless manner. It reminded people that before the two coffins were covered with soil, he had two fresh flowers in his hands.

He should have placed a fresh flower on each coffin, but this young master seemed to have used up all his last stubbornness, placing both flowers on his mother's coffin.

Such behavior, which lacked decorum, made those who were close to him and knew him feel heartbroken.

So even though he was almost invisible throughout the funeral ceremony, no one really blamed him. Because the Stark family was left with only Tony Stark.

Now he suddenly appeared, and directed Henry to drive. The Kryptonian didn't know whether to be angry and drive him away, or to sympathize with the other party for a while.

Fortunately, her own boss and her old best friend made a decision. Katharine didn't care at all how much impact it would have on the only person in the bereaved family disappearing from the funeral. She just patted Henry's shoulder on the driver's seat from the back seat and said:

"Let's go. Find a place to eat something. Today, just listening to those people's hypocritical speeches, I thought I was full of anger. As a result, as soon as it ended, I found that I was still hungry."

"Is there anything you want to eat?" Henry asked while fastening his seat belt.

"You decide, child. Just don't let me be hungry for too long, old people can't afford to be so hungry."

"Okay. Please fasten your seat belts, we are about to set off." Henry deliberately chose a car model with seat belts in the back seat, just for the safety of the two ladies.

Although Henry was very confident that he wouldn't hit others when driving. But others coming to hit him, sometimes he couldn't prevent or block it, so the necessary safety protection still had to be there.

However, the main target of this reminder was the one sitting in the passenger seat. But looking at his appearance of wanting to put his feet on the dashboard, Henry gave up on directing what this young master should and shouldn't do.

Turning the steering wheel and stepping on the accelerator, the car drove away smoothly. Of course, no one found that Tony Stark was in this car.

Since someone shouted that they were hungry, including Henry himself, he was indeed hungry, so he didn't intend to drive all the way back to New York City to find a restaurant to solve the late lunch.

Speeding was undesirable. Not only was it dangerous, but it would also be fined. As a law-abiding Kryptonian citizen, Henry found a family-style restaurant on the road and stopped, preparing to eat.

This one wasn't the first family-style restaurant they encountered on the side of the road, but a restaurant that Henry felt shouldn't taste bad with his super sense of smell.

No matter how hungry, as long as there were conditions, Henry didn't want to abuse his sense of taste. Fortunately, with the super sense of smell leading the way, the risk of trying a new store was reduced a lot.

The two big stars didn't have the pretentiousness of not eating unless it was a star-rated restaurant. As for Tony Stark, he was like a walking corpse at this time. A car full of people got off, and he followed.

It was just that Tony looked like he wanted to run, and didn't intend to eat. Unfortunately, with Katharine there, she directly held the arm of this young man and didn't let go, and Tony couldn't shake her off and leave.

It was already afternoon, past the peak dining time, so there were not many people in the restaurant.

A group of people found a seat and sat down. The waitress came over with a coffee pot, poured a cup of hot coffee for all four, and presented the menu.

"What do you want to eat?" Katharine asked. The object wasn't anyone else, but the young master who was listless.

Tony didn't refuse to eat, he just leaned his head against the big window and said listlessly, "Cheeseburger."

Katharine reached out and summoned the waitress, saying, "I want a peach pie. And give him a cheeseburger."

Audrey followed and said, "Apple pie."

"A steak, a spicy sausage, honey pancakes, fried chicken nuggets, fried bacon, three sunny-side-up eggs, and a portion of mashed potatoes."

Henry's heroic ordering not only scared the waitress, but Katharine also had the same expression. Even Tony Stark, who was originally immersed in sadness, looked at him with a look of "you kid is stupid," and looked at him with disgust.

Only Audrey was not surprised.

Henry said without any guilt, "Why, I'm still growing, can't I?"

Tony leaned back against the window with a more listless expression, not wanting to say a word of complaint.

The meal was delivered quickly.

Because the two ladies had passed the meal time, they just let their stomachs have something, so as not to be too hungry. They picked up their forks one after another, cut the pie and pie into small pieces, and ate them slowly.

Young Master Stark still had that listless look, the burger was placed in front of him, and he didn't move.

But Henry, whose meal was spread all over the table, was not polite. He was like deliberately making a sound, his knife and fork quickly cut the food on the plate, and then stuffed it into his mouth and chewed.
