Chapter 250, Sent to the right place (first update)

After sealing the documents, Ye Jiuliang stretched out his hand to open the drawer and took out a pair of black gloves, putting them on unhurriedly.

The specially made leather gloves felt cool against the skin as she wore them.

Xue Wu silently lowered his eyelashes, knowing that offending their Master Jiu was more terrifying than a category nine tornado.

"Master Jiu, what should we do with these two documents?"

Ye Jiuliang curled his lips into a smile, though it didn’t reach his eyes, "Of course, deliver them to their rightful place."

Xue Wu looked up at her with a puzzled gaze.

"Make a few copies and send them to the hands of those few in the capital," Ye Jiuliang said as he grabbed the car keys and the two documents, striding out with straight legs.

His leisurely pace carried an air of sharpness.

It was time for the power structures of the capital to be reshuffled.

He would, albeit reluctantly, give it a little push.

...

The sun blazed overhead; the stifling dust on the road hung like fog, and the shadows of the trees on the roadside shrank into a clump, their dust-coated leaves listlessly curling up.

The black Maybach came to a steady stop in front of a luxurious villa, its tires rolling over fallen leaves with a rustling sound.

The car window rolled down, and Wei Bei leaned out, his eyes coldly fixed on the security guard blocking the way, "Move aside."

"Who are you? Without an appointment, you can’t just enter," the security guard said.

"Take a good look at the license plate. Does Li Five Master also need an appointment?" Wei Bei scoffed coldly.

Upon hearing the name "Li Five Master," the security guard’s eyes widened, and he hurriedly bowed his head to check the license plate.

The next second, he stumbled, his face turning deathly pale.

"Li Five Master, I didn’t recognize you. I’m so sorry, so sorry."

The security guard quickly apologized and turned to open the gate.

The car window rolled up, and the car drove smoothly into the villa’s courtyard.

As he watched the car drive away, the security guard’s back broke into a cold sweat, and he quickly took out his phone to report.

His lips trembling, he said, "Manager Chen, Li Five Master has arrived."

In the living room, the air conditioning spread cool air mixed with a faint scent of tea.

"Bang—"

The teacup fell onto the carpet, spilling pale yellow tea all over, and the light grey carpet began to soak through with dots of dampness.

Li Hong’s expression changed slightly, and he looked at the steward in surprise, "Did you say Li Mochan has come?"

Manager Chen nodded, "Indeed, it is Li Five Master."

Outside, the sound of a car horn was heard.

Li Hong stood up briskly, feeling somewhat puzzled. Li Mochan hadn’t visited them in eight hundred years; what kind of wind had blown him here today?

No matter the reason, that esteemed person could not be slighted, "Quickly, invite him in."

"No need for an invitation."

The chilling voice carried a frosty tone, as if coming from a place of extreme cold, involuntarily making people shiver to the core.

Li Hong looked up, and against the light, the figure of the tall, well-built man entered his view. His facial features were striking, enchanting like a demon, and his inherent nobility and elegance in every move and gesture imposed an inexplicable sense of oppression on those around him.

Coming back to his senses, Li Hong took a step forward, eagerly saying, "Five Master, how come you have time to visit today? Please, take a seat."

Even though he was of the same generation as the old Master Li and, by rights, Li Mochan should be calling him uncle, Li Mochan’s temperament was peculiar and his methods ruthless. In his presence, Li Hong wouldn’t dare to act superior or presume to pull rank; doing so would only make a fool of himself.

Li Mochan gave him a cold glance, his gaze icy, "Where is Ye Jiuliang?"

"What, what?" Li Hong was stunned, looking completely bewildered.

Ye Jiuliang?

What was happening?

Wei Bei stepped forward, pulling the man over with a rough gesture, "Don’t play dumb here. Didn’t you send people to follow Ye Jiuliang and have her assassinated on the way?"

Li Hong, an old bag of bones, couldn’t withstand such torment. His face turned pale, and the confusion on his face deepened.

A foreboding feeling surged in his heart.

"Stalking, assassination?" His voice cracked as he spoke, "I haven’t done anything of the sort. Where is this coming from?"

Everyone in the capital knew that Ye Jiuliang was now with Li Mochan. How could he possibly seek his own death by troubling Ye Jiuliang? It’s not like he was tired of living a peaceful life.

"Still not admitting it, huh?" Wei Bei scoffed, pulling out a Token from his pocket and waving it, "You can’t say you don’t recognize this, can you?"

The Token was pitch black, engraved with the character "Hong."

Li Hong’s face changed, "This is my Token, how did it end up with you?"

"Good that you admit it’s your Token," Wei Bei snorted, "Hurry up and tell me where the people you sent followed Ye Jiuliang to, speak up."

"I really don’t know what you’re talking about." Li Hong’s mind was nearing chaos. He turned his head towards Li Mochan, "Master Five, I really haven’t sent anyone to assassinate Ye Jiuliang, truly, I swear it."

"I also don’t know how my Token ended up in your hands. Ye Jiuliang is your person, how could I possibly seek death and oppose you? There must be a misunderstanding."

Before he finished speaking, Wei Nan hurried in.

"Master, we’ve captured them."

Li Mochan turned his cold gaze towards him, "Where?"

Wei Nan looked towards the door, "Bring the people inside."

As he said this, a group of people in black was brought in.

Their black clothes were stained with blood, and their faces bore bruises and wounds to varying extents.

On the side, when the butler Chen saw the black-clad people being brought in, his complexion changed drastically.

What on earth was happening?

Could someone have stolen the old master’s Token and be causing trouble behind his back?

Li Hong also recognized these black-clad people, and his expression suddenly grew solemn.

He angrily shouted, "Lai Biao, what is the meaning of this, what have you done behind my back?"

"Master Li, we were merely following your orders, Master Li, you can’t abandon us," the one called Lai Biao pleaded, his cheek swollen, mumbling through unclear speech.

Without regard for anything else, Li Mochan grabbed Lai Biao by the collar, his voice frosty as he demanded, "Where is Ye Jiuliang?"

"At..." Lai Biao shivered as he looked into his deep eyes, stammering in hesitation.

Li Mochan lost his patience, kneed him fiercely, knocking him over, "Where?"

Lai Biao lay on the ground and vomited a mouthful of blood.

"Pu—"

"Speak up already," Li Hong demanded with a face turning ashen.

He could see what was happening now, surely someone was trying to bring his family down.

If Ye Jiuliang was unharmed, that would be fine. But if she were in trouble, Li Mochan might slaughter his entire family.

"At a slope in the Eastern Suburbs, behind it there is a cliff. Ye Jiuliang jumped off on her own," Lai Biao said with a trembling voice.

His wolf pup...

Jumped off a cliff?

Li Mochan’s eyes turned dark suddenly, a scarlet shade flashing deep in them.

"You all deserve to die," he said coldly, each word pronounced distinctly.

He reached out and grabbed Lai Biao’s neck, his well-defined hand tightening fiercely.

A crisp "snap" sent shivers down the spine.

Lai Biao’s eyes bulged, unable to let out a whimper before life left him.

Seeing this, the other black-clad people were frightened.

"Master Li, it was your command, you must save us..." one of them wailed pitifully.
