Chapter 260. Li Mochan Bullying Me (Second Update)
"That woman said her last name was Li," Wang Lian declared.
As the words fell, Wei Bei and the others had varying expressions on their faces.
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes slightly chilled, a mocking smile playing on the corners of her lips.
It seemed that the woman Wang Lian was talking about must be the same one Li Hao had mentioned.
She concealed the confusion in her eyes and spoke in a gentle voice, "The Su Family and the Wang Family have a long list of bad deeds; pleading with me is useless. I have always been one to hold a grudge. Do you think I would let go of someone who wanted to take my life?"
"You... Ye Jiuliang, you’re going too far," Wang Lian stiffened, her lips trembling with anger.
Su Yishan couldn’t hold back any longer, her eyes looking at Li Mochan with a pitiful light, her soft voice choked with sobs, "Mochan, our families have been acquainted for so many years. Can’t you overlook this for once for the sake of our past relations?"
Li Mochan tossed the orange peel into the trash can, his gaze never leaving the person in his embrace as if nothing else around him could attract his attention.
"Mochan, can’t you just do it for me? My mother humbled herself and apologized to Ye Jiuliang on her knees, isn’t that enough?" Su Yishan pressed on, unwilling to give up.
Li Mochan looked somewhat displeased, the coolness in his voice tinged with impatience, "Noisy."
Su Yishan was stunned on the spot, her eyes reddening.
After all she had said, he had no pity for her, only impatience.
What had all her years of affection for him been for?
Ye Jiuliang gave Su Yishan a cursory glance, her heart devoid of much sympathy for the white lotus pinning after her Li Mochan, "Wei Bei, take them out."
"Yes."
As Wei Bei approached, Su Yishan took two steps back, glaring at Ye Jiuliang with malice.
"I won’t leave. Ye Jiuliang, you have no right to tell me to go. It’s all because of you that I became like this. You only blame those assassins, but have you ever thought about how hateful you are to offend so many people?"
Unable to suppress the rage building inside her any longer, her voice grew agitated, "Ye Jiuliang, you are nothing but bad luck. Your parents died because of you. Look at the Ye Family, no one likes you. They all hate you. You deserve to be alone your whole life... you will never be worthy of happiness..."
Ye Jiuliang regarded Su Yishan indifferently, viewing her as nothing more than an ant, not angry or upset by her words.
Suddenly, the cool hands of the man covered her ears.
Li Mochan’s eyes turned frosty and his thin lips parted, his voice cold and cruel as he spoke, "Wei Bei, throw her into the dungeon with those men in black."
Upon hearing this, Su Yishan collapsed, rushing towards Li Mochan’s side.
"Mochan, you can’t be cruel to me..."
Wei Bei, already fed up with Su Yishan’s voice, reached out to grab her.
During this time, Wei Xi had already summoned a few patrolling guards, who swiftly dragged both Su Yishan and Wang Lian out.
"Let go of me, let go..." Outside, Su Yishan’s voice gradually weakened.
Ye Jiuliang lifted her eyes to Li Mochan and pulled his hand from her ears, "Don’t worry, I didn’t take her words to heart."
Li Mochan bent down, his forehead against hers, his voice softening slightly, "You have me."
He would not let her be alone; he would make her happier than anyone else.
Ye Jiuliang smiled faintly, nuzzling his straight nose, "Yes, having you is enough for me."
In a flash, the cold aura surrounding the man vanished entirely.
Li Mochan stroked her head, "Shall we go eat?"
"Yeah." Ye Jiuliang nodded with a smile.
The two headed to the dining room, leaving only Wei Nan and the others in the living room.
"Wei Nan, stop scowling all the time, or the master might throw you into the Dark Hall," Wei Bei remarked.
Wei Xi echoed, "Exactly, didn’t you notice the ring on the madam’s finger? The Master has already made his choice."
Wei Nan gave the two of them a glance, "Did I say anything?"
"You didn’t say anything, but it’s all over your face." Wei Bei said.
"Actually, I think the madam is quite nice, and the Master is very discerning. You shouldn’t worry too much," Wei Xi said in a low voice, patting his shoulder.
Wei Nan glanced at him and fell silent.
...
The cold marble floor, the mottled light and shadows sparse and scattered.
It wasn’t long after Ye Jiuliang got back to the bedroom when old Madam Jiang called.
It all boiled down to one purpose: to urge Li Mochan to bring her back home quickly.
Li Mochan answered the phone, simply responding word by word. Old Madam Jiang said a lot, but he just replied with a "hmm."
Ye Jiuliang, leaning in his embrace, listened to the elderly lady lecturing Li Mochan on the phone, her laugh so bright her eyes disappeared.
Li Mochan looked down at her, suddenly placing the phone to her ear, and Ye Jiuliang almost couldn’t suppress her laughter.
She looked at him with puzzled eyes, covered the phone, and whispered, "What are you doing?"
"Grandma wants to talk to you," he said.
Ye Jiuliang blinked as old Madam Jiang’s vigorous voice came through, "Xiaojiu, Li Mochan is always backtracking on his words, saying he’ll bring you back but never does. Tell grandma, is he bullying you? Is that why you haven’t been back?"
"No, Grandma Jiang, he hasn’t bullied me," Ye Jiuliang replied, amused but not forgetting to defend her man.
"Xiaojiu, you can tell the truth, it doesn’t matter. Did he make you angry, and that’s why you refuse to come? Tell me, I’ll make it right for you."
Even through the phone, Old Madam Jiang’s enthusiasm could not be blocked.
Li Mochan’s lips twitched slightly; was he just a bonus gift that came with the phone bill?
He bowed his head and nuzzled her face, his long, jade-like fingers lightly tapping her abdomen.
Ye Jiuliang, already ticklish, tried to dodge his hand by turning to the side.
"Stop fooling around."
Li Mochan pretended not to hear and intensely nibbled on the tip of her ear.
Gritting her molars, Ye Jiuliang told the phone, "Grandma Jiang, Li Mochan is bullying me."
"I knew it was definitely Li Mochan bullying you, that damned boy, wait until he comes back—I’ll deal with him," old Madam Jiang said.
"Tell me how he’s bullying you?"
"He doesn’t feed me, nearly starved me slim," Ye Jiuliang made up an excuse on the fly and tossed the phone back to Li Mochan, quickly slipping away from his arms.
Li Mochan cast a meaningful glance at her, then picked up the phone and put it back to his ear, "Grandma, you..."
Not waiting for him to explain, the old lady blasted off, "Li Mochan, feeling quite capable, aren’t you? Dare to starve Xiaojiu, I..."
"Grandma, I have some things to take care of, we’ll talk another day."
After finishing, Li Mochan hung up the phone, threw it aside, and walked towards the big bed.
The little rascal, framing him like this, was clearly itching for trouble.
"Li Mochan, I’m an injured person, you better not mess around," Ye Jiuliang hid under the quilt, wrapping the entire blanket around herself.
With his arms crossed and an arched eyebrow, Li Mochan said, "Scared now?"
