Chapter 266. We raise a baby (Part Four)
"Xiaojiu can really hold her liquor," Veya observed as she watched her drink a glass without batting an eyelid and praised her.
The alcohol content of this bottle of red wine was not low, and it packed quite a punch later on. The fact that this young lady could drink a glass without showing any change in expression clearly indicated she had a good tolerance for alcohol.
Ye Jiuliang smiled with a curl of her lips, "Not bad."
The house was rarely this lively. With Ye Jiuliang there, the dining room was filled with laughter all the time.
After the meal, Ye Jiuliang was so full that Li Mochan took her for a walk around the castle, claiming it would help with digestion.
The sunlight was warm and cozy, feeling very comfortable on the body.
On the bright green grass, their shadows were stretched out long.
Hearing the hums of the person next to him, Li Mochan chuckled lightly, "Do you want some digestive tablets?"
Ye Jiuliang shook her head, rubbing her overstuffed belly. It was her mouth that had been indulging, but now her stomach was the one to suffer.
Suddenly, a white mass in the distance caught her attention.
She let go of Li Mochan’s hand and jogged forward a few steps.
Under the sunlight, a white Samoyed lay on the grass, basking in the sun, looking completely at ease.
When it saw Ye Jiuliang approach, it didn’t run away but let her stroke its head, even nudging her hand actively.
"Mohan, who owns this?" asked Ye Jiuliang as she sat down and scratched the Samoyed’s large head.
Li Mochan squatted beside her, "Asheng owns it. Its name is Er Bao."
"Er Bao?" Ye Jiuliang laughed, "What an interesting name."
She petted Er Bao’s head and glanced sideways at him, "How about we get a pet too?"
"What do you want to keep?" Li Mochan, sitting on the grass just like her, reached out and touched Er Bao’s head.
After thinking for a moment, Ye Jiuliang smiled with a soft and sweet voice, "Let’s keep a big white goose."
"..."
A big white goose?
What was she thinking?
Li Mochan withdrew his hand and brought her into his embrace, resting his chin on her shoulder, "Why suddenly a big white goose?"
"They’re easy to raise. Once they’re fattened up, we can roast them for a nice treat," Ye Jiuliang said, giggling into his chest.
"It’s best to keep a female goose. I’ve never had roasted goose eggs before."
The thought alone was delightful.
At her words, Li Mochan couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time, pinching her cheek, "Even the goose eggs are not spared, huh?"
"Let’s not be wasteful," Ye Jiuliang intoned seriously, "How about we keep two, just in case there isn’t enough to go around after roasting them? We could share some with Er Bao too, right?"
As if understanding her words, Er Bao howled.
"Woof, woof, woof."
"You wolf cub, spare those big white geese. They won’t survive your mischief," Li Mochan said with amusement, stroking her head.
"So you mean to say you won’t let me keep one?" Ye Jiuliang’s clear eyes narrowed slightly, asking in a slightly ominous tone.
Li Mochan held back a smile, "How about we keep something else?"
"Then how about a fat chicken?" Ye Jiuliang’s eyes gleamed, "When the time comes, we’ll make an old hen soup or stew chicken with mushrooms?"
Li Mochan was momentarily petrified, "..."
"What’s that look for? You won’t let me keep a big white goose, and fat chickens are off the table too?" Master Jiu poked his shoulder, clearly dissatisfied.
"So what do you suggest we should keep? Just to let you know, I won’t raise pigs. I don’t like pork."
Li Mochan’s lips curved up, a gleam of mischief in his eyes.
"Don’t worry, we’re not keeping pigs." His thin lips slowly approached her ear, his voice deep and low, "We’ll keep a baby, one that looks like you or like me."
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes trembled slightly, a baby that looked like her or him?
All of a sudden, her mind conjured up an image of a small, adorable chub.
