Chapter 294. I won’t indulge you anymore (part four)

The dominant presence occupied her every ounce of reason, her slender spine pressed against the cabinet door, emitting a faint sound.

For an instant, Ye Jiuliang felt like a drowning person, gasping for air.

She struggled to free one hand and beat his arm, trying to awaken a certain "Beast" that was too triumphant to remember itself.

"Li Mochan, you son of a..."

Fuck, is committing violence supposed to be this exciting?

Before she could finish cursing, her red lips were sealed once more.

"Li... Mohan..."

Her broken syllables were devoured until nothing was left, Ye Jiuliang’s eyes fogged over, and the corners of her eyes tinged with rouge.

Damn Li Mochan, I will never pamper you again.

...

"Big Boss’s phone is unreachable again," Chen Xin said, looking at the press release submitted by the team, pacing back and forth in the office restlessly.

"Chen, what should we do now? We can’t suppress the trending searches, and the servers have already crashed," a team member said.

Another person inquired curiously, "What’s up with the big boss, does he really have a girlfriend now?"

This year was definitely the year with the most rumors about their big boss; he made the trending searches every now and then and couldn’t be taken down.

"Chen, is this rumor true or not?"

Chen Xin glanced at them and said, "I’d like to know that too."

"Could the big boss be about to make an official announcement this time?" said the team member.

Just as Chen Xin was about to speak, her phone suddenly rang. At last, Ji Mingqian’s call came through.

She answered eagerly, "Big Boss, you finally called. We were so worried."

Ji Mingqian got off his motorcycle and walked out of the garage unhurriedly, "What’s the rush?"

"Big Boss, have you seen the news?" Chen Xin got straight to the point, "Is it true or not?"

"False," Ji Mingqian replied without hesitation, "If I really had a girlfriend, I’d announce it immediately, and there would be a grand celebration."

Amused and relieved by his response, Chen Xin said, "Understood, I will take care of it, but it might be more effective if you clear things up with a Weibo post."

"Got it," Ji Mingqian replied perfunctorily and hung up, then took out his keys to open the door and enter the house.

The spacious living room was bright and quiet.

He saw the slippers on the shoe cabinet, raised an eyebrow, Jiang Yisheng went out for a walk?

After changing shoes, he walked to the sofa and his peripheral vision caught sight of the sticky note on the coffee table.

Ji Mingqian frowned, reached for the sticky note as his delicate handwriting matched the person’s elegant demeanor.

[Had to go back for something.]

Signed—Jiang Yisheng.

Ji Mingqian’s fingertips tightened around the sticky note. That guy left in such a hurry.

He checked the time; he should have landed by now.

Ji Mingqian took out his phone and dialed a number, elegant piano music looping in his ear.

Gradually, irritation seeped into Ji Mingqian’s brows and eyes.

Why isn’t anyone answering? Could something have happened?

Finally, someone on the other end answered the call, and it was a familiar voice.

"Is there a problem?"

Ji Mingqian paused, sensing something off about the person on the other end of the call.

"Why did you leave without saying anything?"

Jiang Yisheng sat in the VIP lounge, waiting for his agent to pick him up.

He took a sip of hot coffee, soothing the dryness in his throat, "I left you a note in the living room."

Still the smooth voice, but it seemed to be lacking something, Ji Mingqian asked, "Did something happen that made you leave in such a hurry?"

"Hmm, got a photoshoot for an endorsement," he said casually.

"Anything else?"

Ji Mingqian was tongue-tied and finally muttered, "No."

"I’m about to get in the car, let’s talk later."

After he spoke, the call was disconnected, leaving behind the "beep beep beep" on the line.

Ji Mingqian scratched his head, feeling that something was off.

He put down his phone, carelessly tossed his jacket onto the sofa, and walked upstairs.

As he passed the guest room Jiang Yisheng had stayed in, he inexplicably walked in.

The room had been tidied up, even the bed sheets were neatly folded, in stark contrast to his own room, which was ridiculously clean.

After idling for no more than two minutes, Ji Mingqian walked out again.

...

In the afternoon, a light rain started to fall again in the capital.

The capricious weather was always displeasing, and even a bit irritating.

Lightning streaked through the overcast sky, piercing through the curtains and waking the sleeping figure.

Ye Jiuliang sat up abruptly, the sour pain making her want to punch someone.

That damn Li Mochan was just asking for it.

He had nearly dismantled her bones.

She threw off the quilt, stepped onto the carpet and felt a wave of weakness.

Li Mochan, you bastard, this isn’t over between us and me.

After cursing him countless times in her heart, suddenly, the door opened.

The lights came on, and the man strode in.

"Awake?"

Li Mochan saw the person crouched by the bed, his gaze soft enough to drip water.

Ye Jiuliang gave him a sidelong glance and handed him one word, "Scram."

"Why are you crouching there, hmm?" Li Mochan reached out to pick her up, his lips almost stretching to the back of his head.

His little wolf was fragrant and adorable.

"My legs are weak, don’t you know?" Ye Jiuliang glared at him, "Li Mochan, do you even know how to spell ’restraint’?"

"Don’t be mad, after dinner I’ll take you to buy a motorbike, okay?" Li Mochan lowered his head to kiss her brow, a deep chuckle escaping from his lips.

"You think a motorbike is enough to appease me?" Ye Jiuliang scoffed lightly.

Li Mochan generously stated, "You can have as many as you say."

Ye Jiuliang snorted, giving her orders unceremoniously, "I need to brush my teeth and wash my face."

Li Mochan curved his lips into a smile and headed towards the bathroom.

**

After dinner, it was still raining outside.

Ye Jiuliang couldn’t be bothered to go out and nestled in her room, binging dramas.

She didn’t even realize when Jiang Yisheng came back.

After putting away his luggage, Jiang Yisheng walked into the kitchen just in time to see Li Mochan carrying a plate of fruit out, "Cousin."

"When did you get back?" Li Mochan hummed.

"Just now, Yisheng asked me out to dinner, want to join us?" Jiang Yisheng took out a cup and poured himself some warm water to drink.

Li Mochan said, "I’ve already eaten."

Jiang Yisheng glanced up, noticing the necklace around his neck was eerily familiar, "Cousin, that necklace around your neck?"

"Something wrong with it?" Li Mochan raised an eyebrow.

Jiang Yisheng shook his head and inquired, "Did Jiuliang give you that necklace?"

Li Mochan hummed indifferently, a trace of smugness barely concealed.

"That necklace must have a special meaning. I saw a friend of Jiuliang’s in Country Y with a similar one. It must be given only to someone special," Jiang Yisheng said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Li Mochan was surprised and unconsciously touched his necklace.

So it was true what the little wolf cub had said, not just a joke.

"Cousin, I’m heading out," said Jiang Yisheng, putting down the cup and turning to leave.

Given to someone special, huh?

Li Mochan chuckled to himself and carried the fruit platter upstairs.

In the bedroom, Ye Jiuliang was huddled on the couch, chatting nonchalantly with Old Master Ye on the phone.

"I know, I’ll be there tomorrow, is there anything else?"
