Chapter 310, Trying to scam without checking the target (Sixth update)
"Hehe." Seeing the little girl look so listless, Mingchong couldn’t help but laugh.
In the end, his heart softened, "All right, then. I’ll get you one can, but you’ve agreed to only drink half, okay? Don’t make me get into trouble with Fifth Master Li."
Ye Jiuliang’s eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly like a chick pecking at grains.
"Fine, just half."
Mingchong got up and headed to the kitchen.
In no time, he came back with a can of beer.
He pulled the tab open and placed the beer in front of her.
"It’s very cold, drink it slowly," he advised.
Ye Jiuliang nodded, unable to wait any longer, she took a sip of the beer.
Refreshing.
Mingchong took a bite of his dish as he ate, watching her drink with a helpless smile.
The dinner was thoroughly enjoyable for all.
After eating, Mingchong even cut some fruit for her.
Ye Jiuliang had eaten herself stuffed and burped from time to time.
"Jiuliang, I made some snacks while I was at it, take them home and eat them slowly." Mingchong came out of the kitchen, holding a small food box in his hand.
Eating and taking, Ye Jiuliang felt embarrassed, "You really don’t need to, I’ve bothered you enough by freeloading today."
Mingchong put the food box in a bag, his eyes smiling softly, "I made a lot. I’m usually at the company, and these snacks will go bad if left too long. Don’t be polite with me."
His tone shifted, seemingly aggrieved, "Or are you afraid they taste too bad, so you don’t want to take them?"
Ye Jiuliang couldn’t help but chuckle, "Then, thank you, Director Ming."
"Stop calling me Director Ming, call me Uncle Ming," Mingchong said as he felt distant when she addressed him as "Director Ming."
He didn’t want to be so formal and strange with the little girl.
"Then, thank you, Uncle Ming," Ye Jiuliang corrected herself and said.
Mingchong smiled slightly, "You can come over to eat with me whenever you have free time. Bringing Fifth Master Li along for company is fine too—it’s merrier with more people."
"Sure," Ye Jiuliang responded cheerfully.
"Then I should be going now. I’ll come for a visit some other time when I’m free."
With that, she stood up and reached out to pick up the bag on the table.
Mingchong also stood up, "I’ll walk you out."
As Ye Jiuliang reached the door, she suddenly turned to look at him, her red lips slightly curled, "Uncle Ming, feel free to visit Mo Garden when you’re free. The food made by Li Mochan at my place is also really good."
Mingchong paused briefly, then a bright smile spread across his lips, "Sure."
Ye Jiuliang walked down the steps with light steps, swung her leg over the motorbike, and rode off into the distance.
Not until her figure vanished from sight did Mingchong let out a quiet laugh.
A little girl who loved spicy food just like him.
Right, and she loved beer too.
The black motorbike zoomed out of the gates at high speed, leaving the security guards at the entrance thinking a gust of wind had whisked by them.
As she passed a corner, a figure suddenly dashed out.
Ye Jiuliang reacted quickly, slamming on the brakes immediately, her toes touching the ground, the soles of her boots creating a soft, rustling sound as they skidded across the pavement.
"Ouch."
A pitiful wail came from the ground.
Ye Jiuliang looked down to see a brightly colored dress—it was the woman who had just caused a scene at Mingchong’s doorstep.
"You’ve hit someone, oh, my back," the middle-aged woman wailed.
"It’s you again, girl. You’ve hit my wife, you can’t leave," a middle-aged man stormed out, blocking Ye Jiuliang’s path, and shouted angrily.
Ye Jiuliang raised an eyebrow, a hint of derision flickered through her eyes.
Running a scam without checking the target.
Her bike was two meters away from the woman, not even a fingertip had touched her, where did she get the audacity to say she had been hit?
Ridiculously laughable.
