Chapter 329. Tire Burst (First Update)

~7 min read 1,277 words

The person beside him chattered incessantly, giving Jiang Yisheng a headache. He glanced at him with a cool detachment that betrayed a hint of unnoticed aloofness.

He said, "I didn’t mind."

"OK, change into the next set of clothes," the photographer said while checking the photos.

Ji Mingqian moved his lips, but before he could speak, the person next to him had already walked away.

Watching his retreating back, Ji Mingqian raised his hand to scratch his head.

If he didn’t mind, why was he still wearing a sour face?

The subsequent photoshoot proceeded very smoothly, finishing more than an hour ahead of schedule.

Before leaving, Ji Mingqian generously treated all the staff to a meal, putting it on his tab.

After returning to the studio to pick up some items, since Feng Yi’s meeting wasn’t over, Jiang Yisheng greeted him and then left on his own.

Coming out of the side door, a man’s deep voice called out his name.

"Jiang Yisheng."

Recognizing the owner of the voice, Jiang Yisheng’s steps faltered.

He glanced to the side, where Ji Mingqian straddled a motorcycle, their gazes meeting in mid-air.

The engine roared to life, and the next second, the black motorcycle stopped in front of him.

Avoiding his gaze, Jiang Yisheng asked indifferently, "Why are you still here?"

"Waiting for you," he replied.

Jiang Yisheng took a step back, adjusting the brim of his cap, "I drove here myself."

Ji Mingqian raised an eyebrow, a gleam flashing through the depths of his eyes.

"Ajiu and the others are waiting at Jiangyue Restaurant, then you better hurry up."

Jiang Yisheng nodded and, bypassing his large motorcycle, began walking towards the car parked under a tree.

As he approached, his peripheral vision caught sight of the deflated tire, his delicate brows slightly furrowing.

What’s going on?

He hurried over, bent down, and saw two nails embedded in the tire, caked in dust and dirt.

He pursed his lips, everything had been fine in the morning, could it have been a prank by some mischievous kid passing by?

"What are you looking at?" Ji Mingqian rode the motorcycle over and asked.

Jiang Yisheng let out a breath, somewhat helplessly, "The tire has been punctured."

"Where, let me see." Ji Mingqian leaned forward, saw the nails embedded in the tire, and the dark gleam in his eyes faded.

"This needs to be towed to a garage for repairs."

Jiang Yisheng pulled out his phone and sent a message to Wen Rang.

Then, he looked up at Ji Mingqian and said, "You should go first, I’ll just take a taxi later."

"What taxi." Ji Mingqian reached out to pull him, tossing a helmet into his arms.

"Hurry up and put it on, we’re both heading to Jiangyue Restaurant anyway, let’s go together."

Jiang Yisheng looked at the helmet in his hands, his gaze rippling slightly.

"No need, lest I get snapped by the paparazzi later."

With that, he returned the helmet back to him.

The smile at the corner of Ji Mingqian’s lips stiffened, his handsome face darkening, "Jiang Yisheng, what exactly is your problem with me?"

Dammit.

He felt as if he owed him a hundred billion or something.

"None."

Again with those two words, would he die if he changed them?

Ji Mingqian was slightly irritated, snatching the cap and sunglasses from Jiang Yisheng’s hands before he could react.

With demonic swiftness, by the time Jiang Yisheng realized what was happening, Ji Mingqian had already succeeded.

A formerly expressionless face finally showed a trace of agitation, "What are you doing?"

"Someone has already recognized you. If you don’t get on now, you’ll regret it when you get mobbed by fans later," Ji Mingqian played with his sunglasses, a malicious smile curling his lips.

Jiang Yisheng, upon hearing the words, glanced sideways and saw the frequent gazes coming from across the street, wishing he could punch Ji Mingqian.

Ji Mingqian tossed the helmet back to him, urging, "Hurry up, otherwise, we’re both going to make the headlines again, but I don’t mind."

Jiang Yisheng gritted his teeth and, noticing fans running over from the opposite side, quickly put on the helmet.

As he straddled the motorcycle, the person in front spoke again, "Ready yet?"

Jiang Yisheng fastened the helmet and coolly replied, "Ready."

Before his words faded, the motorcycle suddenly shot out, leaving the pursuing fans far behind.

Jiangyue Restaurant

Ye Jiuliang came out of the restroom and saw a familiar figure approaching in the corridor.

In the midst of several rich ladies, that bright purple figure stood out significantly.

Fang Hui had arranged to dine and shop with a few friends today and didn’t expect to run into Ye Jiuliang here by coincidence.

Her smile turned stiff, and recalling the incident from a few days ago, she shifted her gaze guiltily.

With Ye Jiuliang here, Li Mochan might be around too.

If she could win her over and gain Ye Jiuliang’s trust, dealing with Li Mochan would be much easier.

She walked over in her high heels, a smile on her face, and with a hint of familiarity in her tone, "Jiuliang, what a coincidence, are you here for a meal too?"

Ye Jiuliang tossed a paper towel into the nearby trash can, lifting her eyelids, "I don’t think we’re familiar."

"We’re almost family now, isn’t that familiar enough? Are you dining alone? Why don’t you join us?" Fang Hui smiled and her voice grew even softer.

Ye Jiuliang looked away, "No, thanks."

She walked past her, leaving with light steps.

Fang Hui slowly turned around, her gaze on Ye Jiuliang’s departing back was venomous.

Insufferable girl, just like Li Mochan, so annoying.

"When did you guys get here?" Ye Jiuliang pushed the door and entered the private room, seeing that Ji Mingqian and the others had arrived, she casually asked.

Ji Mingqian, "Just got here."

"Why do you look like that?" Seeing Ji Mingqian’s somewhat gloomy expression, Ye Jiuliang asked with amusement.

Ji Mingqian’s gaze slid over the person playing with a cellphone across the table, his lips twitching slightly, "It’s nothing."

He felt more wronged than Dou E, not knowing what he had done to offend the other party.

Ye Jiuliang looked around, noticing someone was missing, "Why didn’t Feng Yi come with you guys?"

"Yi will come over after his meeting. He should be here soon." Jiang Yisheng, who was sitting quietly to the side, spoke up.

Li Mochan took the menu, flipped it open, and handed it to her, "What would you like?"

"This, and this, this one too." Ye Jiuliang’s finger rapidly moved across the menu.

Li Mochan noted each one carefully.

The two sat side by side, ordering dishes, sweetly envied by others.

Ji Mingqian, unable to voice his sarcasm, looked at the empty cup beside the person opposite and asked, "Jiang Yisheng, do you want some juice?"

"Thank you, I’ll stick with tea." Jiang Yisheng politely declined.

Ji Mingqian, "..."

At this point, Ye Jiuliang had finished ordering and looked up, noticing Jiang Yisheng’s curly hair, she blinked.

It seemed rather amusing.

"Asheng, who did your hair?"

"Just finished a magazine shoot, the stylist did it, it’s temporary, I’ll wash it off when I get back." Jiang Yisheng put away his phone, his lips curled into a faint smile.

"Does it look strange?"

"It looks good," Ye Jiuliang shook her head, generously offering her compliment.

Jiang Yisheng smiled quietly, and when he caught the cold glance from Li Mochan, he pressed his lips together.

"Can I touch it?" Ye Jiuliang’s eyes gleamed as she stared at Jiang Yisheng’s curly hair, clearly intrigued.
