Chapter 345, Not very friendly (first update)
Ye Jiuliang stepped back two steps, enveloped into his embrace.
In a low and magnetic voice, rich and seducing, he teased, "You little brat, getting itchy after not seeing me for two days?"
Ye Jiuliang laughed, squinting her eyes, and huffed, "It’s your fault for looking so disgusted just now."
As she spoke, she pulled away his hands, swung a long leg over, and settled sturdily on the motorcycle.
Her jaw lifted slightly as she beckoned him with a curl of her index finger, "Come on, I’ll take you for a ride."
In the night, the woman’s captivating eyes shone brightly, a rebellious smile played on her lips, hitting him right in the heart.
Li Mochan’s gaze darkened, and he stepped forward, lifting his knee to sit behind her.
They had known each other for so long, yet this was his first time sitting on her motorcycle.
Ye Jiuliang twisted the throttle, "Hold on tight, I won’t be responsible if you fall off."
Before her words even faded, the man behind her wrapped his iron arms around her waist, clinging close to her.
His husky voice overpowered the engine’s roar, blowing into her ear, "Hold on tight."
Ye Jiuliang shrank her neck, looking down at the hands around her waist, the smile on her lips deepening even further.
The next second, the purple motorcycle shot off like an arrow released from its bow, its arrogant roar piercing through the night and vanishing into the cold wind.
The illusionary lights of luxury made the city seem more ethereal and tranquil at night than during the day.
Silver moonlight chased after the purple motorcycle until it turned at the end of the alley, the elongated shadow gradually disappearing.
After a while, the motorcycle stopped in front of the hotel; the two dismounted, their hair in disarray, exchanging a look with a similar curve to their smiles.
"How’s that, isn’t riding a motorcycle better than a sports car?" Ye Jiuliang pulled out the keys, smiling with a twinkle in her eyes.
Li Mochan smiled without a word, his fingers, long and like jade, helping her comb through her disheveled hair.
"I’m asking you." Ye Jiuliang persisted.
Li Mochan removed his hand from her hair, flicked her forehead lightly, "When I’m not around, don’t drive so fast, it’s dangerous."
It was a motorcycle ride, but she rode it like a rocket, totally reckless.
Ye Jiuliang let out a pained yelp, she pursed her lips and didn’t argue the point about danger.
To argue would put her motorcycle at risk of being taken away.
After parking the motorcycle, the two walked into the hotel together.
The restaurant was on the second floor of the hotel. Ye Jiuliang led Li Mochan up there like it was her own backyard and picked a spot by the window to sit down.
"No alcohol allowed," Li Mochan’s eyes caught the person beside him eyeing the various drinks, his voice a soft reminder.
"Li Mister Five, I want to drink this one," Ye Jiuliang pointed to a red wine on the menu, grinning from ear to ear.
Li Mochan grabbed her chin and refused mercilessly, "No."
Allowing her to drink meant it wouldn’t stop at just one glass.
"I think it’s a bit cramped for two people to squeeze into one room. How about you go book another one for yourself?" Ye Jiuliang closed the menu, her voice cool.
If he wouldn’t let her drink, she’d play the brat.
Li Mochan’s deep-set black eyes narrowed dangerously, "Little wolf cub, that’s not very friendly, is it?"
"Pot calling the kettle black." Ye Jiuliang swatted away the hand that was pinching her chin, her face all smiles.
"..."
Li Mochan stared at her steadily, letting out a helpless chuckle.
In the end, he conceded over the room-sharing, "But don’t overindulge in drinking."
"Okay, just two glasses," Ye Jiuliang replied breezily.
After calling over a waiter to order, Ye Jiuliang took off her jacket and casually hung it on the chair.
The person beside her suddenly spoke, "Did you take care of everything over here?"
"More or less," she answered.
"Did you find the person?"
"No," Ye Jiuliang shook her head, "I found an iron box."
"Iron box?" Li Mochan’s tone was slightly puzzled.
Ye Jiuliang hummed in acknowledgment and briefly described what had happened in the small town.
After listening, Li Mochan’s cold eyebrows furrowed slightly, it seemed that this affair couldn’t escape its connection with those men in black, either.
Suddenly remembering another matter, he asked with furrowed brows, "Is your master the same as Ji Mingqian’s master?"
Without hiding it, Ye Jiuliang admitted frankly, "Yeah, the same master."
"From the same sect, childhood sweethearts?" The low voice couldn’t hide a hint of sourness.
Ye Jiuliang chuckled, teasing, "Oh, the dishes haven’t even arrived yet, how come I smell vinegar?"
Li Mochan’s thin lips pressed together tightly, the aura around him steeped in sourness.
"If you’re going to put it that way, I’ve had more than just one childhood sweetheart," Ye Jiuliang laughed as she leaned on him, purposely teasing him.
Li Mochan stretched out his arm to encircle her, staring at her intently, "Who else?"
Ye Jiuliang smiled mischievously, "Are you asking about the boys or the girls?"
Li Mochan, "..."
"Sister, we meet again," a soft, sweet voice came from beside her, tinged with a hint of surprise.
Without needing to see the person, Ye Jiuliang found the voice somewhat familiar, just from hearing it.
She turned her head to look, and the innocent face of a handsome young boy met her eyes, his golden hair notably striking.
It was him.
The youth who wore the fox mask that night at the pharmacy.
"Sister, may I sit here?" The youth walked over to the opposite side and asked timidly.
Ye Jiuliang looked at him scrutinizingly, remembering that he’d said the same thing the night they met in the pharmacy.
She hadn’t expected to see him here.
Whether it was coincidence or intentional was unknown.
And another thing, she had been wearing a mask that day, so how did he recognize her now?
It really was just a coincidence this time, Mo Chen hadn’t expected to run into Ye Jiuliang here while dining, and amid his surprise, he was afraid she’d forgotten him.
Seeing the inquisitive look in Ye Jiuliang’s eyes, the boy’s clear irises showed a touch of anxiety, "Sister, do you remember me?"
He reminded her, "It was at the pharmacy, we’ve met, you even saved me."
"Did I?" Ye Jiuliang’s eyebrows quirked up slightly, "I don’t remember."
"I was wearing a fox mask that day, do you truly not remember me?" Mo Chen became anxious upon hearing that Ye Jiuliang didn’t remember him.
He propped his hands on the tabletop, leaning his head close to her, trying to make her see more clearly.
"Look again carefully, we really have met before."
Suddenly, an iron arm swept across, and a cold voice carried an icy chill, "Stand back."
It was only then that Mo Chen noticed the person next to Ye Jiuliang. He tilted his head slightly, crashing into the man’s deep, dark eyes, a chill creeping up his spine.
He reflexively shrunk his neck and retracted his own ’paws,’ stepping back obediently to avoid the cold air’s mistaken strike.
Such a fierce person.
He looked at Ye Jiuliang with a wronged expression, the very picture of a little aggrieved soul.
Ye Jiuliang, seeing this, couldn’t help wanting to laugh.
She cleared her throat, asking with interest, "Kid, why do you call me sister?"
Ever since their first meeting, he had been calling her sister, making it seem as though they were quite familiar with each other.
Mo Chen’s eyes brightened as he spoke crisply, "Because you are a sister, aren’t you?"
Ye Jiuliang, "..."
