Chapter 369, look at your favoritism ( - 1)
"Delete it, just delete it." One of the young girls backed down first and painfully deleted the video.
It wasn’t easy to capture a video of their beloved Ji Mingqian, and now they couldn’t keep it, their hearts were bleeding.
Seeing this, others followed suit, deleting their photos and videos.
The more he wiped off the paint on his face, the more it smudged, and the pungent paint fumes made him cough uncontrollably.
Ji Mingqian decided not to wipe it off anymore and lifted his foot to leave.
He took a step, and not seeing the person behind him follow, he turned back to look. Jiang Yisheng stood there in a daze.
His eyes, green like jade, were filled with sparkling confusion, like a lost elk.
He frowned, "Aren’t you leaving?"
Her eyelashes trembled slightly, and Jiang Yisheng nodded, catching up with his steps.
The crowd watched the two leave, whispering and gossiping amongst themselves.
With a bucket of paint spilled all over him, on his way back to his room, Ji Mingqian garnered a lot of curious gazes. Many recognized him, and if it weren’t for the hotel security holding them back, some fans would have rushed over.
The elevator came to a stop with a "ding," and Ji Mingqian and Jiang Yisheng exited one after the other.
Jiang Yisheng looked up at the figure ahead, her lips moved, but no sound came out.
Suddenly, the person in front came to a halt.
Ji Mingqian turned around, catching her gaze before she could withdraw it.
Eye to eye.
The atmosphere was subtly awkward.
In the end, the first to break the suffocating silence was still Ji Mingqian, his low voice rang out, "Why are you following me without changing your clothes?"
Avoiding his gaze, Jiang Yisheng lowered her eyes, "Thank you."
His distant tone somehow angered Ji Mingqian.
His magnetic voice dropped a few notches, "No need."
With those words, he turned and walked back to his own room.
"Bang—"
The sound of the door slamming reverberated, and Jiang Yisheng stared at the sealed door, with a layer of desolation clouding her eyes.
The news of the two megastars getting splashed with paint in the restaurant spread like wildfire, with many fans flocking to the hotel, clogging the entrance with fans and reporters.
As he drew the curtains, Feng Yi frowned deeply, "Downstairs is swarming with fans of you and Mingqian, along with a bunch of reporters."
On the sofa, Jiang Yisheng had already changed out of her clothes. Her chestnut-colored hair hung in disarray over her forehead, her head bowed, her expression indiscernible.
"I’ve checked it out. The person who threw the paint is not mentally stable. His girlfriend was your fan and a violin student too. She broke up with him a few days ago to study abroad, so he took it out on you," Feng Yi explained.
Jiang Yisheng remained silent, prompting Feng Yi to pat her shoulder, his gaze fraught with concern.
"Asheng, are you alright?"
Jiang Yisheng shook her head, her voice hoarse, "I’m fine."
"Ahan has already sent people to deal with this incident. Jiuliang and the others have gone over to Mingqian’s side. Shall we go check it out too?" asked Feng Yi.
Upon hearing this, a trace of conflict flickered in Jiang Yisheng’s eyes.
He seemed angry earlier. Would he want to see her?
Before she could decide, Feng Yi grabbed her, "What are you thinking about? Let’s go."
In another room, Ji Mingqian remained in the bathroom the whole time.
Lathered with paint from head to toe, cleaning it all off was a huge struggle, especially in his hair.
After cleaning up, his neck was rubbed red, and despite washing his hair several times, it still wasn’t clean.
With no other choice, Ji Mingqian had to have his styling team come to trim his hair.
Because he was here for the movie promotion, Chen Xin had brought the work team as well, otherwise, they’d be too far from the emperor and unable to deal with this incident in time.
When Ye Jiuliang and Li Mochan arrived, Ji Mingqian had just been getting a haircut.
"Here, coffee." Ye Jiuliang walked over and handed him a cup of iced coffee.
She glanced at his hair dyed with paint, the corners of her lips slightly lifting, "Why not just shave it all off and try a buzz cut?"
"You should stop talking nonsense." Ji Mingqian took the coffee and gave her a white look, speaking irritably, "You should tell Li Mochan to try a buzz cut."
Ye Jiuliang chuckled, remembering something Chen Xin had mentioned just now, she teasingly asked, "I heard you and Asheng have been shipped together by the fans?"
"They have nothing better to do." Ji Mingqian bit on the straw, his dark, glossy eyes narrowing slightly.
"What’s there to ship between men, I don’t get what they’re thinking."
Before he’d even finished speaking, two figures appeared at the door.
Jiang Yisheng’s pale eyes paused briefly, catching every word Ji Mingqian had just said.
Indeed, there was nothing about them that should be shipped together.
He blinked, suppressing the sourness in his heart, and when he looked up again, his eyes were clear and bright.
"Mingqian, is your neck having an allergic reaction?" Feng Yi looked at his reddened neck, "Are you allergic to the paint?"
Ji Mingqian waved his hand, "I just rubbed it too hard when I was washing off the paint."
"Brother Qian, it’s done, are you satisfied?" The stylist put away the scissors and asked.
Ji Mingqian looked at the mirror, casually messed up his hair with his hand, "It’s fine."
The stylist packed up the tool case, smiled, and said, "Then I’ll be off."
Ji Mingqian nodded, stood up, and brushed the hair clippings from his clothes.
As he turned around, he lifted his gaze to see the person standing next to Li Mochan, the smile at the corner of his mouth slightly fading.
"Most of the fans outside have left." Feng Yi looked at the crowd gradually dispersing downstairs, then turned to them, "Are we still going to the hot springs?"
Ji Mingqian shifted his gaze and slowly picked up the jacket thrown on the sofa, putting it on indifferently, "Let’s go, it’s boring just staying here."
"Let’s go then, through the side door," Feng Yi said.
The five of them only took two cars; Jiang Yisheng rode with Li Mochan, and Feng Yi got into Ji Mingqian’s car.
The hot springs were far from the city center, and it took an hour by car to get there.
The Maple Forest of City C was famous far and wide. As soon as they got off the cars, looking around, the fiery red maple forest was as spectacular as clouds at sunrise.
"Mohan, let’s go check that out." Ye Jiuliang stepped on the maple leaves on the ground, which rustled as she walked.
After parking the car, Li Mochan walked over, holding a candied haw on a stick.
"Here."
"Where did you get this?" Ye Jiuliang looked at him with sparkling eyes, eager to take a bite.
Li Mochan grasped her hand, "Someone over there is selling them."
Following his gaze, she saw that at the entrance of the scenic area, some vendors were selling snacks.
Ye Jiuliang curved her lips into a smile and brought the candied haw to his mouth, "Want to try?"
Li Mochan shook his head, lightly touched the tip of her nose, "Too sweet."
"Ahan, look at you playing favorites, only buying treats for Jiuliang and not thinking of us three," Feng Yi teased.
As expected, a cold glare shot towards him, full of disdain.
"Go stay where it’s cool." Dropping those words, Li Mochan led Ye Jiuliang away, leaving Feng Yi alone to enjoy the solitude in the cold wind.
Heartless.
Feng Yi muttered to himself, when suddenly his phone in his pocket began to ring.
