Chapter 390, Qian Yisheng ( - 1)
"When will your book signing end?" Ji Mingqian’s magnetic voice became even lower.
His thin lips slightly curved, and as his shining green eyes followed suit, Jiang Yisheng’s voice came out with a slight rasp, "Not sure yet."
The book signing had just started not too long ago, it was expected to take quite some time still.
After pondering a moment, Ji Mingqian said, "Then I’ll wait for you backstage, we can eat together afterward."
Jiang Yisheng raised an eyebrow, "Are you treating?"
"Please, I came straight to support you after getting off the plane, what’s more, this is your territory. You’re asking me to treat you, do you have the nerve?" Ji Mingqian almost took off his sunglasses just to roll his eyes at him.
Jiang Yisheng let out a soft chuckle.
Ji Mingqian had been on stage for too long, and the fans below were growing restless.
Everyone was a fan, so why could they only stay for a few seconds, while that man could stay up there for so long?
"Who is that?"
"How can he stay on stage for so long and even chat with Asheng?"
"He’s wrapped up so tightly, it’s impossible to see who it is."
The murmurs from the crowd grew louder, and Wen Rang caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye, the two still engrossed in conversation, and the corners of his mouth twitched unconsciously.
Could you two gentlemen please step off the stage and chat?
There are still people here.
As the two were oblivious, Wen Rang had no choice but to move towards them.
"Yisheng."
When Jiang Yisheng lifted his gaze to him, Wen Rang leaned over and whispered, "Yisheng, the fans are watching from below."
Jiang Yisheng snapped back to reality and glanced towards the crowd below.
A sea of fans was staring up at the stage.
He had almost forgotten about them.
Jiang Yisheng withdrew his gaze and looked at Ji Mingqian, "There are fans waiting in line. Why don’t you go backstage and rest for a bit?"
Ji Mingqian’s thin lips lightly curved into a playful smile, "Then I’ll trouble celebrity Jiang to sign his autograph for me."
Jiang Yisheng couldn’t help but smile, as he swiftly signed his name on the album cover.
Meanwhile, someone in the crowd recognized Ji Mingqian, their voice barely containing their excitement, "The person on stage is the actor Ji Mingqian!"
Their high-decibel voice spread across the whole venue, immediately causing a commotion.
"The figure from the back looks exactly like actor Ji, it must be him for sure."
"Ji Mingqian is at the book signing, ahhh..."
"I knew the ship I’m following must be real."
The order that was hard to maintain instantly crumbled as groups of fans broke through security, desperately squeezing to the front of the stage to catch a glimpse of the thoroughly bundled man to see who he truly was.
"Ji Mingqian!"
"Ji Mingqian!"
The entire venue was chanting Ji Mingqian’s name, the atmosphere was unprecedentedly enthusiastic.
On stage, Wen Rang held his forehead, unable to bear to watch.
It was over.
This was about to blow up big time.
Tomorrow’s trending topics and Weibo would surely explode.
It seemed their team would have to prepare a press release too.
"Ji Mingqian, what should we do? Should you leave first?" Jiang Yisheng stood up, put down his pen, and said in a low voice.
Ji Mingqian glanced sideways, catching the worry in his eyes, and smiled nonchalantly, "If I leave now, that would make things even harder for you to explain."
Being discovered wasn’t the end of the world; facing it head-on would leave those journalists no fabrications to make up,
Ji Mingqian turned around, and under the watchful eyes of everyone, he removed his hat, took off his mask and sunglasses.
All eyes converged on him, and in that moment, his handsome features unguardedly invaded the vision of every person present.
His sword-like brows rebelliously lifted a touch, and his enchanting peach blossom eyes twinkled with broken light, tugging at heartstrings.
All of a sudden, the screaming in the venue vanished.
Ji Mingqian held his hat and waved to everyone with a roguish smile, "Seems like I can’t escape the discerning eyes of everyone after all."
The silence didn’t last two seconds, and the venue erupted with screams again.
"Ah—"
The overwhelming screams made the ground tremble.
Ji Mingqian put a finger to his lips, "Shh."
Gradually, the venue quieted down again.
Ji Mingqian picked up the microphone and his low, magnetic voice slowly filled the air, "Like everyone here, I came to support Yisheng and wish his album great sales."
As he finished speaking, suddenly a fan shouted a slogan below.
"Mingqian and Yisheng, never apart."
Ji Mingqian, "..."
Where did these idiots come from.
Mingqian and Yisheng?
Could they be any more talented?
Jiang Yisheng lowered his head slightly, a hint of embarrassment flitting across his eyes.
These fans are really difficult to manage.
"Today is Yisheng’s autograph session, I just stopped by to show support, I won’t get in everyone’s way, I’ll leave first," Ji Mingqian said, looking at the increasingly uncontrollable scene and quickly thinking of making an escape.
"Movie Emperor Ji, please take a photo with God Jiang."
"Brother Qian, don’t go."
The fans started to chant, especially the CP fans, who went wild.
"Asheng, don’t let Brother Qian leave."
On stage, Wen Rang’s inner thoughts were: It’s over, now the CP will be even harder to break.
Ji Mingqian looked at the crowded scene, his brain working overtime to find a solution.
His eyes brightened, and he casually draped an arm over Jiang Yisheng’s shoulder, "Ten seconds for photos, quick hands get them, slow hands miss out."
Before his words had faded, flashes started to go off incessantly.
Jiang Yisheng glanced sideways at Ji Mingqian, a few hints of confusion showing in his eyes, "Ji Mingqian, what are you doing?"
"They’re all blocked here, I can’t leave even if I want to, might as well let them take their fill of photos, once they’re satisfied, they won’t keep staring at us without end," Ji Mingqian said in a lowered voice.
The two whispered with their heads together, and from the fans’ perspective at a mysterious angle, it immediately took on a whole new interpretation.
"Aaahhh..."
Another wave of frenzied exclamations.
When the time was about right, Ji Mingqian pulled his hand back. Unseen by others, he took a candy from his pocket and secretly slipped it into Jiang Yisheng’s hand.
"I’ll go backstage first."
Jiang Yisheng hadn’t yet reacted when the other man had already run down and, escorted by security, quickly slipped backstage.
"Yisheng, better continue the autograph session," Wen Rang reminded.
Jiang Yisheng nodded lightly and sat back down.
Hidden under the table, he opened his hand, and there lay a candy, quietly resting in his palm—the kind Jiuliang had once given him.
A charming smile appeared between Jiang Yisheng’s brows as he clutched the candy in his palm and then tucked it into his pocket.
After the commotion, the autograph session proceeded as usual.
As evening fell, the autograph session finally ended.
Once off stage, Jiang Yisheng headed straight for the backstage.
Pushing the door open, the dressing room was quiet.
Jiang Yisheng looked around, but there was no one in sight.
Had he left already?
At this thought, a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
Wen Rang followed him in, and seeing Jiang Yisheng standing still, he asked in confusion, "Yisheng, why aren’t you leaving? Isn’t Brother Qian waiting for you in the underground parking lot?"
"What did you say?" Jiang Yisheng spun around, his eyes rekindling with a bright light, a subtle excitement that was hard to detect.
Wen Rang scratched his head, confused by his response, "I just ran into Brother Qian. He said he’s waiting for you in the parking lot."
Without bothering to grab his coat, Jiang Yisheng hurried outside, "I’ll leave first, just put my backpack in the recording studio."
"Yisheng, you didn’t take your coat, slow down, don’t get caught by the reporters," Wen Rang called out loudly as he poked his head out.
Such a worrisome life.
