Chapter 420, the heating is not working (before dawn)
Jiang Yisheng watched as more beef appeared in his bowl, a faint smile flickering in the depths of his eyes.
Without realizing it, the atmosphere between the two had relaxed considerably.
"By the way, does your stomach not hurt anymore?" Jiang Yisheng suddenly asked in the middle of the meal.
Ji Mingqian shoveled a mouthful of rice, "It’s been fine since earlier, that medicinal oil of yours isn’t bad." At least it doesn’t smell awful.
"If you like it that much, I’ll give it to you," said Jiang Yisheng.
Ji Mingqian chuckled lightly, "Why do I feel like you’re cursing me to have a stomachache?"
Jiang Yisheng snorted lightly and didn’t continue the banter.
When they were almost done eating, Ji Mingqian put down his chopsticks and brought up tomorrow’s schedule, "Tomorrow they’re planning to go horse racing and barbecuing in the suburbs. They probably won’t go too early, so you can sleep in a bit, adjust to the time difference."
He’s used to trotting all over the world year-round and doesn’t suffer from jet lag, but Jiang Yisheng, with his frail constitution, always has a regular rest schedule, and was likely having some difficulty adjusting.
Jiang Yisheng acknowledged with a sound of agreement and put down his chopsticks, full.
"I’ll go take my shower first. Someone will come to clean this up later. Remember to wear a hat to cover yourself," Ji Mingqian said.
Jiang Yisheng nodded his head, paired with his sleepy look, which was cuteness overload, "Got it."
He hadn’t really slept on the plane today and was feeling sleepy after eating.
Before long, the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom.
As Jiang Yisheng was dozing off, someone suddenly knocked on the door.
He was jolted awake, grabbing a hat and scarf from the couch and adeptly putting them on.
Opening the door, a server pushing a dining cart was surprised to see the person who answered bundled up so tightly.
Why wrap up so snugly late at night?
Playing some role-playing game?
Remembering his task, the server quietly cleared the mess on the table and left with the dining cart.
Before leaving, Jiang Yisheng even gave him a tip.
Closing the door, Jiang Yisheng pulled off the hat and scarf, his eyelids already battling each other.
Kicking off his slippers, he collapsed onto the bed, pulling the blanket over himself, and instantly fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow.
For someone with such regular habits, staying up till this hour was quite impressive.
Lord Zhou was already calling him for tea in his dreams.
When Ji Mingqian finished showering and came out, he found the room eerily quiet, and there was no one on the sofa anymore.
Had he gone out so late at night?
With his hair fluffy and messy from the blow-dry, Ji Mingqian brushed it with his hand, walked around the screen, and looked up to see the person already asleep on the bed, somewhat amused and exasperated.
He turned to look at the wall clock, and it was already one-thirty in the morning.
Ji Mingqian walked over slowly and grabbed another blanket from the wardrobe to throw on the bed.
He turned off the room light, leaving only one wall lamp on.
Ji Mingqian climbed into bed and shook out the blanket over himself.
He had shared a room with Chu Chen before, and had no problem sharing a bed with someone else.
As soon as his head hit the pillow, he fell asleep in no time.
In his sleep, it seemed like something had rolled next to him, tugging on his blanket.
Ji Mingqian abruptly opened his eyes, and, in the dim light, he could see the "thing" that was stealing his blanket.
Leaning down slightly, he smelled the faint fragrance of the person’s chestnut-colored hair.
Their curled eyelashes cast shallow shadows under their eyes, the pale water-colored lips slightly puckered, their sleeping face bearing a touch of youthful naivety.
"..."
What’s up with this guy, wrapping himself up with both blankets? Isn’t the room’s heating working?
He reached out and gently pushed the person aside, his movements soft, careful not to wake him.
