Chapter 480, Close the Door and Release the Dogs (Second Update)
"Are you comparing me to a mouse?" Jiuliang teased.
Gu Xinuo put down her cup and gave her a sidelong glance, "I really can’t believe you’re still in the mood to joke around."
Jiuliang hooked her arm around Xinuo’s shoulder, smirking, "How about we have a motorcycle race?"
With just a look, Gu Xinuo immediately grasped her meaning, her lips curving slightly, "Then let’s have a race."
"Xue Wu, I seem to remember there are a few guard dogs raised here," Jiuliang said as she picked up her jacket and put it on, a sharp coldness flashing in her eyes.
Xue Wu said, "There are six."
"Go tell those reporters to leave within three seconds. If they don’t want to, don’t bother with words, just open the gate and let the dogs out," Jiuliang ordered, her hand reaching for the car keys, her voice cold and fierce.
If sweet talk won’t work, then be prepared to face the gale.
Xue Wu’s expression brightened, and he cracked a smile, "Yes."
That’s the style of Master Jiu, bold and fierce.
Gu Xinuo bent over with laughter when she heard the words "open the gate and let the dogs out."
Brilliant idea, this idea was incredibly satisfying—she almost wanted to stay and watch the thrilling scene that was about to unfold.
"Anuo, let’s go," Jiuliang said, striding forward, her lean figure exuding an air of unrestrained freedom.
Gu Xinuo tied her shoelaces and quickly followed.
After they left, Xue Wu closed the room’s door, his footsteps light as he made his way to the basement.
Not taking the main entrance, Jiuliang and Gu Xinuo left through a secret door, heading straight for the garage.
The cold wind swept in with fine snow, covering the sky and the ground, and the winter sun offered not the slightest warmth.
The journalists squatting by the door, one and all, were bundled up in heavy coats, the women reporters not missing a single scarf or hat.
"Why haven’t they come out yet? I’m freezing to death."
"Just bear with it a little longer. If we interview Jiuliang, that’s an exclusive story. We can’t miss out on the bonus."
"The security at this VIP club is a bit too tight; it’s so hard to get in."
Before the words could fade, the tightly shut gate finally opened.
The journalists who had been crouching surged forward, some of whom had been squatting for too long and nearly stumbled from numb feet.
As the gate opened and they saw who stood behind it, they were all taken aback.
How come it’s not Jiuliang?
"It’s such a heavy snowstorm, why is everyone crouching at the club’s entrance?" Xue Wu scanned the still-stunned journalists, smiling politely.
"Could it be that you all have mistaken our club’s business hours?"
The male journalist at the front asked, "Is Jiuliang here?"
"If you all want to come to the club, then please come back this evening. But if you’re here to cause trouble, don’t blame me for driving you away," Xue Wu’s tone shifted from warm to assertive.
"You have three seconds to leave, please. Don’t stand around here; we don’t need so many bodyguards at our entrance."
With that, he started to count down.
"Three."
"Two."
The many journalists exchanged glances, none of them moving back.
Clearly, they couldn’t just leave without seeing Jiuliang or getting some scoops today.
"One."
Xue Wu’s lips curled into a dangerous smile.
Very well, don’t regret not leaving.
"It seems you all are determined to give me trouble today."
Xue Wu stepped forward, and the journalists stepped back.
When he reached the entrance, Xue Wu stood aside.
He took out a whistle, put it to his lips, and blew with force, the piercing sound of the whistle slicing through the sky.
The journalists had startled looks on their faces, completely bewildered.
In their moment of confusion, suddenly, the barking of dogs could be heard coming from inside.
"Woof woof woof—"
Six shiny-coated wolf dogs rushed out one after the other, their dark eyes flashing with wildness, baring their fangs, with suspicious silver strands hanging from their mouths.
"Woof woof woof—"
The reporters turned deathly pale with fright, almost passing out.
The next moment, the reporters who had been determined not to leave scattered like birds startled by a bowshot, running without even stopping to pick up the microphones they dropped.
"Help!"
"Don’t bite my pants, help..."
"Ah, my clothes."
The ground was covered with a thick layer of snow, making it hard to run. Some reporters slipped and fell, and the big wolf dogs pounced, licking their faces with fiery red tongues, nearly scaring the reporters out of their wits.
"Ah..."
A scream rose, and a tall, burly male reporter fainted.
At the door, Xue Wu toyed with a whistle, smiling as he watched the chaos unfold before him.
Across the street, two motorcycles stopped one after the other.
With his long legs planted on the ground, Ye Jiuliang lifted the visor of his helmet, a wicked smile playing on his lips as he watched the commotion across.
"Heh."
Interesting, fun.
"Hahaha." Gu Xinuo, not one to be restrained, laughed out loud, slapping his thigh.
"Hey," Ye Jiuliang called out to the reporters as they fled.
"Master Jiu is here."
The reporters, eager to escape, turned at the noise and, upon seeing the figure sitting on the motorcycle, their faces lit up with relief.
"Woof woof woof—"
The barking grew louder, approaching fast, and the reporters didn’t dare to stop, frantically running back to their cars.
Seeing his objective accomplished, Xue Wu blew his whistle, and the wolf dogs immediately turned around and ran back to his side.
With no more wolf dogs in pursuit, the reporters let out sighs of relief and hastily drove toward Ye Jiuliang.
"Anuo, let’s go." Ye Jiuliang slid down his visor, and with the rumble of his arrogant engine, left behind only a blur for the reporters.
Before leaving, Gu Xinuo ran a circle around one of the reporters’ cars and then chased after Ye Jiuliang’s direction.
The broad road witnessed a peculiar sight.
Two motorcycles sped side by side, with a swarm of cars following behind and to both sides.
The sound of flash photography overwhelmed the cold wind, bursting out intermittently.
Cold winds howled as the light snow gradually stopped.
In their rush to follow Ye Jiuliang, the reporters hadn’t paid attention to the route until they arrived at the seaside and realized they had been led all the way to the beach by Ye Jiuliang.
Ye Jiuliang spun around, her black boots stepping on the soft, fine sand. She raised her hand to remove her helmet and casually placed it on the motorcycle.
Taking out a baseball bat from the motorcycle, Ye Jiuliang swung it carelessly a couple of times before shouldering it.
Gu Xinuo approached, holding a baseball bat of the same kind.
"Miss Ye..."
The words suddenly cut off.
The reporters opened their car doors, swarming out, but the moment they saw the baseball bat in Ye Jiuliang’s hand, no one dared to approach her recklessly.
Ye Jiuliang’s gaze lifted at the corners, a chilling smile on her lips.
Her cold voice slowly said, "Ask if you want to know, go ahead. Master Jiu has all the time in the world to listen."
The reporters, recalling Ye Jiuliang’s history of violence, swallowed hard as they looked at the baseball bat in her hand, trembling with fear.
They wanted to ask questions, but she shouldn’t be threatening people so readily. With that baseball bat in hand, who would dare to ask so casually, if not looking for death?
It was like risking their lives for an interview; they wanted to live a few more years.
Ye Jiuliang walked up to them unhurriedly, one hand in her pocket, exuding coolness and confidence.
"If you want to ask something, ask quickly; you might not get another chance."
