Chapter 485, Who is shamelessly pestering (Third update)
"No, I need to call my mom, I don’t want to live with Master Extinction." Mo Chen jumped out of bed and hurried to find his phone.
Having grabbed the phone, before he could dial the number, Alei’s voice sounded again.
"Madam said you don’t need to call her; she won’t pick up. She also said that if you throw a temper tantrum, she will send you back to F country to study."
Mo Chen clenched his phone, his face darkening.
This was clearly coercion to make him accept her decision.
He strode to the wardrobe and grabbed a set of clothes at random.
"I’m going out for a walk. If my sister comes, let her do whatever she wants; I won’t be back for dinner." Saying this, Mo Chen picked up a sweater and pulled it over his head.
"Young master, you can’t go out. If you leave and the young lady comes back and doesn’t see you, I won’t be able to explain." Alei said with difficulty.
Mo Chen snatched a scarf and casually wrapped it around his neck a couple of times. "I’m not leaving for good. I’ll be back after dinner. What are you afraid of?"
"This..."
"Quit the hesitation. Anyway, I don’t want to stay with my sister." He didn’t want to bring trouble upon himself.
Mo Chen stuffed his phone and wallet into his pockets, put on his shoes, and walked briskly outside.
"Young master, come back, you can’t go out." Alei chased after him, shouting as he went.
"Oh come on, can’t you stop nagging? She’s an adult, does she really need me to take care of her?" Mo Chen, irritated by Alei’s obstruction, turned to look at him and didn’t notice the person who had walked in through the door.
His shoulder was pushed, and Mo Chen stumbled back two steps, his legs hitting the sofa.
"Young lady." Alei’s face changed slightly as he saw the person standing in the doorway.
Damn.
Mo Chen steadied himself and stiffened as he heard Alei’s words.
He turned his neck with difficulty, casting his eyes towards the figure standing at the door.
Against the light, the woman’s pretty face was slightly made up, her fiery red lips exuding a sense of sensuality and splendor.
The black and white dress suit along with a light grey overcoat gave her an air of intelligence and dignity.
Mo Su walked in on high heels, followed by a man and a woman.
Mo Chen watched as the woman drew closer, saw her expressionless face, and couldn’t help but curse Master Extinction inwardly.
"Mo Chen, where are you hurrying off to in such a rush?" Mo Su sat on the couch, her gaze faint as she looked at him, her tone carrying an air of authority.
"Just now you said"
Mo Chen tugged at his scarf and lied casually, "I have plans with friends, going out for a walk."
"Is that so?" Mo Su shifted her gaze. "I thought I just heard you raising your voice at Alei. Are you unhappy with my arrival?"
"No." Mo Chen lowered his head and responded rigidly.
"Are you used to living here?"
"Used to it."
The back-and-forth exchange made the atmosphere extraordinarily awkward.
Mo Su said, "Fine then, go if you want to. Just don’t come back too late. I’ve been on a plane all day and need to go back to my room to rest."
At her words, a smile finally appeared on Mo Chen’s face, and he dashed out excitedly.
"Young lady." Alei approached, bowing slightly with respect.
Mo Su hummed a response, "Has Mo Chen met with Ye Jiuliang recently?"
"This..." Alei hesitated.
Seeing his reluctance, a cold glint flashed through Mo Su’s eyes as she spoke indifferently, "Alei, you should know I don’t like being lied to. I’ve never been forgiving towards those who lie to me."
Alei tensed and dared not hold back any longer, "He saw her on the day he reported to Beisen, but not after that."
Upon hearing this, a quirk of amusement flashed in Mo Su’s eyes.
"Mengzhu, Alei, take the suitcases to the room."
"Yes, young lady." The woman standing beside Mo Su nodded and went outside with Alei to move the luggage.
Mo Su curled her lips. "Mark, go prepare a gift for me, I want to visit Old Master Li at Li Mansion in person tomorrow."
The burly man nodded respectfully. "Yes."
He turned and walked out, leaving Mo Su alone in the living room.
She twirled the wristwatch in her hand, a cold smile appearing on her lips.
Ye Jiuliang, here I come, and so begins the game.
...
As dusk faded, the heavy snow fell through the remnants of golden light, beautiful and romantic.
Upon returning to Mo Garden, Ye Jiuliang took some cold medicine and fell asleep immediately.
Li Mochan watched the person in his arms sleep soundly, his gaze landing on the small hand clutching his sleeve, and the corner of his lips curved into a nice arc.
He lifted his hand to rub her head and carefully pried her hand away.
Leaving a wall lamp on, Li Mochan closed the door and turned to go downstairs.
He hadn’t reached the staircase when he heard bursts of laughter and cheerful voices.
In the living room, because of Ji Mingqian’s sudden arrival, the somber atmosphere was instantly dispersed.
Veya looked at Ji Mingqian, her smile so wide she could hardly close her mouth. "If only my Asheng were half as humorous and witty as you."
"Aunt, why don’t I see Yisheng? Is he not here?" Ji Mingqian looked around, but he couldn’t spot Jiang Yisheng.
"He just went to find Feng Yi, he should be back soon."
Ji Mingqian nodded, his gaze catching the person coming downstairs, and he waved at him.
"Li Mochan, where’s Ajiu?"
Knowing that the "Ajiu" he referred to was Ye Jiuliang, Li Mochan felt an alarm go off inside him.
For him, currently suffering from amnesia, Ye Jiuliang was the only person who could make him let down his guard, and naturally, his possessiveness towards her was very strong.
"Who are you?" Li Mochan looked at him with a chilly gaze, his tone far from warm.
Ji Mingqian scrutinized him carefully. He really did forget entirely, huh.
He raised his lips, saying in a playful and teasing manner, "I’m pursuing Ajiu. You could say I’m your rival in love."
Veya and the others knew he was joking, but they didn’t point it out. Maybe provoking a bit could help bring back Mohan’s memory.
Li Mochan sneered, his steps shifted slightly, and he deliberately chose a seat opposite him.
He caught the key point and attacked directly, "Can’t win her over, so resorting to pestering?"
"..."
Who’s pestering?
So obnoxious even with amnesia, truly fitting of Li Mochan.
He gathered his wits to provoke him further, "It’s you who’s the pest. I knew Ajiu before you did."
"Knew her first but still couldn’t chase her down. First, it might be your character that’s lacking, second, your appearance is too forced, and third, she has no affection for you." Li Mochan hit him with relentless criticism.
In just a short time, Ji Mingqian felt as if he had been thoroughly demeaned.
Character, appearance?
Where was he, Ji Mingqian, losing to Li Mochan in those aspects? Damn it, what a venomous tongue this guy had.
Li Mochan’s venomous words had such a strong impact that Veya and others felt the awkwardness as well.
He was a guest after all; look how much he got riled up.
"Is it time for dinner?"
The gentle voice eased the awkwardness of the scene. Jiang Yisheng walked in while taking off his coat.
"Asheng, you’re back. Come over here and sit down." Veya saw her son return and waved at him.
Jiang Yisheng walked over and, seeing Ji Mingqian was also there, he paused.
When had he arrived?
