Chapter 511, Turned into a Vegetable Market (Third Update)
Mo Chen almost couldn’t hold back his laughter and, fearing he’d suffer the consequences, he hurriedly ran away.
Approaching Master Extinction at a time like this would ensure nothing but bad luck.
The "quack quack" of the ducks echoed in her ears, fueling Mo Su’s rage.
She clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles cracked.
Kicking a duck away, her voice dark and grim, she ordered, "Mengzhu, take it and chop it up for me."
"Understood." Mengzhu bowed, grabbed a duck, and quickly walked outside.
Soon, Mark came in with people to help catch the ducks.
The once high-end party instantly turned into a marketplace, especially considering the ducks were defecating everywhere, the smell was... beyond words.
Ye Jiuliang burst into laughter, collapsing in Li Mochan’s arms, unable to straighten up.
"Hahaha."
Coming here tonight truly wasn’t in vain; it was a once-in-a-century spectacle.
Li Mochan wrapped one arm around her waist to prevent her from getting hurt while laughing.
The air was thick with the stench of duck feces, the "delightfully sour" scent was almost unbearable.
Li Mochan couldn’t stand the smell, "It’s getting late, we should head back."
Knowing his obsession with cleanliness, Ye Jiuliang reluctantly stifled her laughter and nodded lightly.
With such an unexpected turn of events, the party likely couldn’t continue.
It seemed that Mo Su would have to check the calendar more carefully before hosting another party.
As both of them got up, Li Mochan straightened her collar and then took her hand to leave the banquet hall.
Seeing this, Feng Yi quickly followed, "Wait for me."
In the midst of the chaos, the three of them quietly left without attracting anyone else’s notice.
After a little while, the turmoil in the banquet hall finally subsided.
All the ducks had been caught and taken away, and the hotel staff were methodically cleaning the dirty and disorderly floor.
After the heart-pounding duck-catching battle, the guests lost interest in continuing the party.
Especially after noticing that Li Mochan and his company had left, more followed suit, excusing themselves and leaving.
"Vice President Mo, I just remembered something urgent; I must leave now."
"Vice President Mo, let’s gather some other time; we’ll take our leave now."
"We’ll be leaving too, Vice President Mo, really sorry."
Mo Su concealed all her anger, calmly seeing off all the guests.
In a moment, the surroundings were eerily quiet.
Mo Su surveyed the banquet hall; the duck feces still not cleaned from the floor was testing the little reason she had left.
She waved her hand and a large floor-standing vase shattered on the ground into pieces.
"Bang—"
Mo Chen, hiding behind a couch, heard the sound of the vase smashing, and covered his ears with his hands.
Not good, Master Extinction was furious.
Would he have to find a place to stay outside tonight, lest her anger be taken out on him?
Mengzhu glanced at the broken vase on the floor and cautiously spoke up, "Miss, please calm down."
Mo Su clenched her fist, her enraged expression frightening.
How was she supposed to calm down?
The party she had grandly hosted had ended in just an hour, and to make matters worse, it ended as a joke.
After tonight, this party would only become a laughing stock.
Especially since Ye Jiuliang was also present tonight, she must be laughing at her behind her back by now.
Mo Su gritted her teeth, her tone cold and terrifying, "Fire everyone working in the kitchen, and have those ducks slaughtered and thrown to the dogs."
Mengzhu bowed her head, "Yes."
Recalling a duck stepping on the hem of her dress, Mo Su’s mood soured even further.
She bent over, reached for the hem of her dress, and with a fierce tear,
the floor-length gown instantly became a knee-length skirt.
Mark, timely as ever, brought over a jacket and draped it expertly over her shoulders.
Mo Su put on the jacket, adjusted the collar, and said, "Mark, get the car ready for the return trip."
"Yes." Mark nodded, then turned and walked out.
After taking a deep breath, Mo Su calmed her anger somewhat, her piercing gaze shooting toward the sofa across from her.
"How much longer do you plan on hiding back there? Get out here now."
Mo Chen scratched his neck and stood up languidly.
He shrank his neck, quite discerning, not daring to ruffle her at such a moment, "Sis."
Unexpectedly not scolding him, Mo Su, with a cold voice, said, "Come back with me."
Mo Chen pouted with self-pity, "Okay."
...
Country Y
It was nearing noon when Chu Chen finally saw Ji Mingqian.
Following the scent of coffee, Ji Mingqian walked straight to the bar and sat down on a high stool.
He yawned, his sleepy eyes looking at the man making coffee, "Achen, make me one too."
"You’re certainly not shy," Chu Chen gave him a cold look, verbally complaining but nonetheless poured him a coffee.
"What have you been up to lately? Why are the dark circles under your eyes so heavy?"
Ji Mingqian picked up the cup, took a light sip, and the rich flavor of coffee spread in his mouth.
It was still the familiar taste, but it seemed like something was missing.
He asked, "Achen, did you change the coffee beans?"
Chu Chen sat down opposite him, "No, it’s still the same as before."
Ji Mingqian furrowed his brows and took another sip, still feeling that the taste was different.
"I forgot to ask, why did you suddenly come back?" Chu Chen put down his cup, dealing with documents coming in on the computer as he spoke.
Seeing him return in the early morning, he thought he had seen wrong.
Ji Mingqian evaded the question, "Haven’t you been urging me to come back?"
Staying in the capital, it’s either bumping into Jiang Yisheng or better to return here for a while.
Ever since that incident at Mo Garden, as soon as he had a moment of free time, Jiang Yisheng would surface in his thoughts like a shadow that couldn’t be waved away.
What’s worse is now when he sees Jiang Yisheng, beyond the awkwardness, he feels even more at a loss.
He figured that as long as he didn’t see Jiang Yisheng for a while, these strange feelings would eventually fade, so he ran back.
Chu Chen looked at him dubiously, "I feel like that reason isn’t very reliable."
"Believe it or not," Ji Mingqian picked up his coffee and got up to head upstairs.
With too many things to handle at the headquarters, Chu Chen was too busy with the documents to probe further.
Back in his room, Ji Mingqian put the cup on the table and reached for his phone.
Pressing the power button, the screen lit up, and a deluge of messages popped up.
Most of these messages were from Chen Xin.
They were all repeating the same sentence, needing to talk to him, asking him to call back when he saw the messages.
What’s the situation, to be contacting him so urgently?
Ji Mingqian’s eyebrows quirked in amusement as he searched for her number to call back.
The phone didn’t ring twice before someone answered.
"Big BOSS, you finally returned my call," said Chen Xin on the other end, almost moved to tears of gratitude.
Ji Mingqian collapsed on the sofa, determined to lie down rather than sit, "What’s the emergency that you needed to reach me for?"
Knowing he didn’t like beating around the bush, Chen Xin cut straight to the point, "Big boss, a couple of days ago Wen Rang contacted me, Jiang’s national tour is about to start, do you want to make a surprise guest appearance?"
