Chapter 559, I’ll go back and carry you back (second update)

~7 min read 1,346 words

"What is there to explain? Let them say whatever they want."

He purely enjoyed acting, nothing else mattered to him, nor was he interested; after all, he wasn’t bound to stay in this circle forever. He didn’t need to tread carefully, and besides, the Weibo post he made was no big deal.

Jiang Yisheng was so angry he felt like hitting a wall, "You..."

"Forget about that, come here, I’ll take you gaming." Ji Mingqian put on his clothes and half-dragged, half-pulled him to the sofa.

Jiang Yisheng wasn’t really angry, he was just inexplicably a bit embarrassed. Now that he had posted this Weibo, the fans would only monitor them even more closely.

Having made him sit down, Ji Mingqian brought over his tablet, "I’ve downloaded a few new games, they’re not too difficult, you should be able to play them."

"..."

Was that a compliment or a slight?

In a daze, the tablet was already in his hands, and a deep voice began to explain the game rules carefully.

A sense of helplessness flashed in Jiang Yisheng’s eyes. He had come to settle accounts, only to end up being pulled into playing games by him.

Had he become masochistic?

While the two of them played games, the fans in the Weibo comment section were destined to have a sleepless night.

...

In the quiet of the night, the bright moon hid behind the clouds.

In the bedroom, the light was still on.

The whirring of the hairdryer suddenly stopped, Ye Jiuliang, wrapped in a blanket, rolled around on the bed.

Her bright eyes caught sight of the figure nearby, her face softening with a tender smile.

After putting the hairdryer away, he came back and saw the woman curled up in the blanket, laughing heartily. Li Mochan couldn’t help but chuckle.

He flicked her forehead with his finger, "What are you laughing at like a fool?"

Ye Jiuliang raised her head, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him, "Am I?"

"Your mouth is almost grinning to the back of your head." Li Mochan laughed softly, just as he sat down, a certain ’little wolf cub’ conveniently rolled over to his side.

Li Mochan moved his legs onto the bed and reached out to pull her into his embrace; the corners of their similar clothes lifted, indistinguishable as to whose they were.

With her cheek against his chest, Ye Jiuliang found a comfortable position in his arms and spoke softly, "Li Mochan, shouldn’t we settle some accounts, hmm?"

"What accounts?" Li Mochan feigned confusion.

Ye Jiuliang fiddled with his large hand, her voice cool, "You said you were going to throw me off the balcony, what did you mean by that, hmm?"

Li Mochan lowered his gaze to look at her, denying outright, "Did I? I don’t remember saying that."

Raising her head, the man looked puzzled, acting as if he was earnest.

Ye Jiuliang pinched his jaw, counting their debts with a fierce yet affectionate tone, "How come there is no such thing? You threw me out of the room, and I had to climb back in through the window."

"I can’t recall. Did I say that?" Li Mochan held her hand, with tenderness in his eyes that could drown someone.

"I just recovered my memory, don’t try to fool me."

Not admitting and even counter-accusing, Ye Jiuliang quivered her lips.

Sitting up straight, she mischievously pinched his face, "Li Mochan, playing dumb, are you?"

His handsome face was squeezed and molded by her hands, looking somewhat comical and amusing.

Ye Jiuliang couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Li Mochan held her hand, and his gaze suddenly turned deep, "It’s late, let’s first fulfill your promise before anything else."

"No, no, I won’t hold you to that, stop it, we can do it another day." Ye Jiuliang hastily pushed him away, cowardly backing down.

Just kidding, if they continued, she wouldn’t need to leave this room tomorrow.

Didn’t this guy know the meaning of "moderation"?

"That won’t do, the matter of having kids can’t be delayed." Saying this, he pinned her wrists and leaned in closer.

"Li Mochan, don’t push your luck, I’m not that easy to bully." Her legs were shaky, but her spirit was strong.

"Keep making trouble, and you’ll sleep in the study."

Li Mochan chuckled softly, pressing his forehead against hers, "I’ll sleep in the study; can you sleep by yourself without me?"

"So, what, wait until you’re asleep before I come to carry you back?" Ye Jiuliang narrowed her eyes, her smile laced with mischief.

His unique wolf cub’s quirky reply had Li Mochan grinning from ear to ear. How could she always be so endearing to him?

He played along with her and asked, "You think you can carry me?"

"Of course I can carry you. Who do you think you’re underestimating?" Ye Jiuliang said with a light snort, her lips curved in a smug smile.

"Still got the strength to carry me? Looks like you’re not tired enough," Li Mochan hinted with a deeper meaning.

Catching the undertone of his words, Ye Jiuliang yawned and snuggled closer into his embrace, "So sleepy, so sleepy."

"Haha."

Li Mochan laughed softly, his hold tightening around her hand as he noticed the weariness in her brow and eyes.

She hadn’t closed her eyes to rest since taking care of him yesterday; it must have been tough on her.

He gently brushed a stray lock from beside her ear, "Tomorrow, I’ll take you out for some fun, okay?"

The person who just claimed to be sleepy suddenly perked up, eyes bright with curiosity, "Where to?"

"Wherever you want to go, we’ll go," he indulgently replied.

"Then I want to go eat hot and sour noodles, spicy hotpot, and buy some ice cream," Ye Jiuliang said with a cheerful grin.

"Okay."

"I also want to buy a motorcycle."

"Okay."

Ye Jiuliang’s eyes twinkled mischievously, "Can I get a kiss from you then?"

Li Mochan gazed at her intently and whispered a response, "Okay."

No sooner had he spoken than Ye Jiuliang leaned in to press her red lips against the thin corner of his.

A intoxicating smile spread across the depths of his dark eyes; Li Mochan raised his hand to cradle the back of her head, not allowing her to pull away.

After all, she was the one who initiated the flirtation; he couldn’t be blamed for responding.

...

Approaching eight o’clock, Mo Garden remained utterly quiet.

For once, everyone had overslept.

"Haven’t Xiaojiu and the others gotten up yet?" Old Lady Jiang turned to Veya and asked casually.

Veya smiled, "They haven’t rested much these past few days, let them sleep in."

Before her words had faded, Jiang Yisheng walked in.

He pulled out a chair and sat down, "Grandma, good morning."

"Good morning." A loving smile spread across Old Lady Jiang’s face.

"Asheng, what’s this all about on Weibo?" Veya asked curiously as she took a seat opposite him.

Ever since her son entered the entertainment industry, she started following Weibo to catch up on his updates from time to time.

That morning, she saw a Weibo post by Ji Mingqian, and for the first time, she learned that even two guys could have CP (couple pairing) fans.

Jiang Yisheng stared at her dumbfounded, "Mom, you know about it too?"

Veya smiled, "I saw it when I was browsing Weibo this morning."

Jiang Yisheng slapped his forehead, laughing in resignation, "It was just a joke by Mingqian. Yesterday, we went to eat with Yi, and he called me short, so I retorted that I was better looking than him. So he jokingly posted on Weibo. It’s all in good fun."

Understanding the situation, Jiang Hai could not resist teasing him, "You’re shorter than him, though."

Jiang Yisheng, "..."

Was this man even his real dad?

"You’re only an inch taller than Asheng," Veya chided affectionately, glancing at Jiang Hai to defend her son.

Jiang Hai glanced at Jiang Yisheng with a smug tone, "At least I am one-eighty."
