Chapter 148: Author's Note: Thanks

~3 min read 599 words

Thank you all for your comments, and special thanks to those witty chapter-note posts — they were a real pleasure to read.

For constructive criticism, I've always kept the attitude of correcting what needs correcting and taking heed of the rest.

History — different people understand it on different levels, and their views differ greatly.

At first I wanted to write along the lines everyone suggested, but I found that readers' ideas varied too widely, so I had to follow my own planned outline instead.

The recent chapters mainly express the conflict between the protagonist and Chongzhen, as well as the process of his rooting out Wen Tiren, the greatest scourge among the civil officials — these are all unavoidable problems in the protagonist's expansion of power, and in a few more chapters that self-destructive scourge surnamed Wen will be dealt with.

Regarding the mutiny of the Yongwei Camp, many readers felt it was unsatisfying that there was no coup to depose Chongzhen.

I've said in earlier chapters that in the late Ming, even if Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of Han were reborn, they couldn't save it — it has to be torn down and rebuilt.

At the end of a dynasty, there are many problems; an emperor remotely commanding from the capital, no matter how wise, cannot thoroughly solve them.

This book's path is for Zhu Cilang to clear away obstacles and win the chance to march south to suppress the rebellion — once the trapped dragon enters the sea, the sky will be vast and the sea wide.

Zhu Cilang will follow the route of a founding emperor to pacify the realm, build a massive army loyal to himself, support a new gentry class, and redraw the cake of the Great Ming according to his own rules.

The protagonist's identity is a powerful buff — as long as it's used well, things become relatively much easier.

Identity plus a formidable army is equivalent to stacking an invincible buff; and since the protagonist is a transmigrator without too many feudal scruples, he can carry out bold reforms with a heavy hand.

One last thing: the protagonist is no pushover — he won't disappoint you later. Those who dislike violence, enter with caution.

At readers' request, I've created a new reader group: 641621369 (also added to the book's synopsis).

Interested friends are welcome to join — I hope we can discuss and learn from each other and improve together.
