Chapter 589: Immortal God Remains
Seeing Yuanzu and many other True Persons arrived here, their expressions calm, showing little surprise, for when this ancient palace first emerged into the world, fierce battles had erupted over it.
Many of the cracks at the end of that passage were remnants left by their struggles.
The Divine King gazed at the empty space on the steps, where a bronze divine throne had once stood—back then, he had yielded it to Seeing Yuanzu.
Yet now, the other still had not become an Immortal God.
"Hmph."
The Divine King sneered, cast a glance at Seeing Yuanzu, and strode forward.
Outside the ancient palace, every area accessible to True Persons had already been explored, stripped bare, leaving not a single treasure behind.
Li Hao followed them through the passages, delving deep into the ancient palace.
Inside this ancient palace was a self-contained secret realm, vast beyond measure, resembling the imperial palace of a divine dynasty.
The expansive Reviewing General Platform was lined with several ancient statues, each carved into the form of a towering, exquisitely handsome youth.
His gaze stretched toward the front of the ancient palace, his eyes seeming to reflect starry rivers, lifelike and vivid.
Li Hao narrowed his eyes slightly; around the statue, Dao rhythms swirled, and he faintly sensed that touching it might trigger some unexpected phenomenon.
Moreover, the craftsmanship of this statue was extraordinarily high—at least eighth or ninth rank—having sealed a trace of its Dao rhythm within, and even capturing just one percent of it made one feel unable to meet its gaze.
"This is the ancient Immortal God."
A True Person gazed upward at the statue, his eyes filled with longing.
Though Immortal Gods had vanished, the traces they left behind had revealed a glimpse of their mystery, drawing people endlessly.
"Don't get close—if the statue absorbs Dao, you won't survive it."
An elderly Three Calamities True Person warned those who had never come before.
Li Hao noticed two statues with broken heads, their Dao rhythms gone—likely the result of past exploration.
"This is the Worship Immortal Platform; ahead lies the Sacrifice to Heaven Platform—we've already explored both."
Seeing Yuanzu whispered softly to Li Hao, who followed behind.
"According to records from other relics and certain ancient clans' texts, their ancestors once had contact with Immortal Gods and were invited here as guests."
"The Worship Immortal Platform was where the master of this ancient palace received homage from Immortal Gods; this palace's master was not merely an Immortal God, but held extremely high status among them."
"That over there is the Sacrifice to Heaven Platform—used to worship the Dao of Heaven."
Seeing Yuanzu pointed.
At the end of the passage leading from the Worship Immortal Platform stood a vast, towering platform, majestic as a mountain, adorned with ceremonial banners now faded and tattered.
There were also many bloodstains, yet no other debris—as if it had been looted clean.
Li Hao glanced silently; the Elder Wind had told him this before.
"That over there is the Sealing Dao Platform—the true core of the ancient palace, accessible only to those who have reached the Sixth Ultimate Realm. Inside, besides the Immortal God Path, there should be many treasures."
Seeing Yuanzu led the way ahead and smiled at Li Hao: "Only because of you can we enter now. When we're inside, feel free to choose any treasure you wish."
The Divine King heard this and sneered, saying nothing.
Li Hao merely nodded slightly; no one yet knew what lay inside. If there were truly top-tier treasures, no one would let him choose first—but the other's smooth words did win him favor.
Soon, the group arrived en masse before the Sealing Dao Platform.
The ancient palace was immensely vast, filled with traps and prohibitions, but the outer regions had already been explored, leaving the path clear.
As all arrived at the Sealing Dao Platform, Li Hao's expression grew solemn: before them stood a gate tower, thick with swirling Dao rhythms, and faintly laced with spatial-cutting power.
Forcing entry would inevitably trigger something.
"This is the True Martial Eight Ultimates Array!"
Seeing Yuanzu raised his hand, sending a thread of power to touch the center of the ancient gate tower—like striking water in the air, ripples spread outward.
Simultaneously, a hidden prohibition within revealed itself.
"Besides the Sixth Ultimate Realm power, we all possess the other Ultimate Realm powers."
Seeing Yuanzu said.
This True Martial Eight Ultimates Array had been discovered through the lives of many True Persons, and only unraveled after the combined efforts of countless top-tier array masters from the myriad heavens.
It required the Ultimate Realm powers of the Eight Martial Realms, filled in sequence, to open.
As Seeing Yuanzu finished speaking, all True Persons turned their gazes to Li Hao.
The Divine King, Hun Tian, and others also fixed their eyes on Li Hao—among all the myriad heavens, only this boy possessed the mysterious Sixth Ultimate Realm.
Li Hao's expression appeared calm, but he knew: once the array activated, his uniqueness would no longer matter—he'd have to rely on his own strength to survive.
And the current situation left him no choice: behind this gate tower lay what every True Person in the myriad heavens craved desperately.
He took a deep breath and gradually revealed his Ultimate Realm powers.
The Eight Martial Realms were: Power Penetration, Celestial Cycle, Soul Continuation, Spirit Travel, Fifteen Li, Heaven-Human Realm, Three Immortalities, Four Establishments. Their corresponding Ultimates were: Divine Power, Heaven-Earth Meridians, Heaven-Earth Manifestation, Primordial Spirit, Return to Void, Transcend to Immortal, Deathless Immortality, Eternal Dao Domain. As his Divine Power, Heaven-Earth Meridians, and other Ultimate powers emerged, Li Hao channeled them into the revealed True Martial Eight Ultimates Array.
Within the array, beams of light flared one by one, each ignited.
When he reached the Sixth Ultimate, his hair turned silver-white, drawing in heavenly and earthly power, and he sent the Transcend to Immortal force into the array.
The array shimmered with brilliant silver-white radiance, becoming dazzlingly bright.
Aside from Transcend to Immortal, Seeing Yuanzu and the other Supreme True Persons had already mastered the rest.
But since they knew Li Hao possessed it too, none intervened—letting him alone open it.
As the Eternal Dao Domain power surged in, the True Martial Eight Ultimates Array blazed with unprecedented brilliance; the eight powers spun violently, merging into a hazy chaotic force, and slowly, an ancient, long-sealed prohibition began to open.
The ripples before the gate tower rippled and dissolved like a water curtain.
The scene within had changed drastically from before: a dark, icy passage, like a cavern within a mountain.
A stench of decay spread through the air.
The faces of the True Persons shifted slightly, their expressions grave.
Whoosh! Seeing Yuanzu's figure shot forward, racing into the gate tower at top speed.
Another crimson figure followed closely behind, nearly matching his pace—it was the Divine King, who had been poised and ready.
Seeing these two move first, the other Supreme True Persons did not hesitate; though all within was unknown and danger lurked, fortune came with risk—if they lagged behind, no treasure would remain for them.
The Law True Person, Medicine True Person, Ink True Person, and others all swiftly pursued.
Li Hao fixed his gaze, then followed closely, while secretly guarding against the other True Persons.
Before the Sealing Dao Platform opened, no one would attack him—even if they wanted to, Seeing Yuanzu and the others would protect him. But now, things were different.
His usefulness was gone.
Fortunately, all were eager to explore inside, and no one came near him.
Following behind the Supreme True Persons, Li Hao saw numerous corpses along the dark passage, long rotted to bone. The air reeked of decay. As he scanned the skeletons, he noticed Dao patterns etched upon their bones—like his own, they had refined Dao Bones! But they had clearly failed to transmute their divine blood into Dao force; otherwise, flesh and Dao Bone would coexist, and they wouldn't have rotted into mere skeletons.
Li Hao did not rush forward; if there were real treasures, the Supreme True Persons would fight over them—better to move slowly and avoid Hun Tian's surveillance.
As Li Hao walked and observed, the other True Persons surged ahead, some overtaking him quickly.
"These remains are mostly those of Immortal Gods."
The Sword Master caught up to Li Hao, slowed his pace, and spoke in a low, grave tone.
"Don't look—so many Immortal God corpses mean the Immortal God Path must be inside!"
The Sword True Person swept past, speaking rapidly, then vanished into the depths without looking back.
The Sword Master glanced at Li Hao: "Are you worried about Hun Tian?"
Li Hao nodded slightly and said to him: "Go ahead. Don't worry about me."
The Sword Master thought for a moment: "Alright, I'll go scout first."
He knew that if Hun Tian targeted Li Hao, he couldn't help.
When Li Hao had been in danger at the Fomen, he could still draw his sword to ease the crisis—but now, the enemies Li Hao faced were far beyond his capacity.
Though Three Calamities and Supreme True Person differed by only one step, the gap was as vast as heaven and earth.
"Immortal God remains... Do Immortal Gods die?"
Li Hao's eyes flickered slightly; Elder Wind had said Immortal Gods vanished due to some terrible crisis—a heavenly calamity.
Were these Immortal God remains the victims of that heavenly calamity?
"Could it be the Dao of Heaven's wrath?"
Li Hao's eyes narrowed in thought; the corpses in this passage and the traces throughout the ancient palace confirmed the existence of Immortal Gods.
But only the power of Heaven's Dao could have caused Immortal Gods to perish—he could think of nothing else.
Yet now, he could summon the will of Heaven's Dao, and with Transcend to Immortal perfected, he could barely command Heaven's Dao force—he sensed no malice from Heaven's Dao toward living beings; it regarded them like grass and flowers—not indifference, but a tolerant acceptance of the cycle.
If not Heaven's Dao calamity, then what disaster could have slain Immortal Gods, beings beyond True Persons?
As Li Hao moved forward, he soon emerged from the passage into a grand hall, where several forces clashed, fighting over a broken spear shaft.
The spearhead was shattered; the shaft was cast in bronze, ancient in aura, radiating faint but potent tribulation energy.
Li Hao was now extremely sensitive to tribulation energy—he instantly recognized this broken spear as an immensely terrifying Dao Tribulation Emperor Weapon. Though damaged, it rivaled a Fifth or even Sixth Tribulation Emperor Weapon.
The Law True Person and Ink True Person fought over it, while the Medicine True Person and Name True Person battled for another amber-colored treasure pearl.
Indeed, there were treasures in this hall—and the Supreme True Persons had sensed them immediately.
While they fought, other True Persons searched elsewhere.
Though they knew the treasures contested by the Supreme True Persons were priceless, none dared covet them—they had to seek other items.
Inside the hall stood the youth statue, but no one dared approach; this statue wore battle armor, appearing even more majestic.
Li Hao glanced once and saw that Seeing Yuanzu and the Divine King were gone. He made no effort to join the nearby struggle, pressing forward instead—where the hall ended, three Cha paths branched off.
Li Hao noticed residual energy traces on two paths: one from Seeing Yuanzu, the other from the Divine King.
The central path carried the energy of other Supreme True Persons—like Hun Tian and Long Sheng.
Li Hao's eyes flickered slightly, then he halted, choosing not to proceed further.
He returned to the grand hall, watching the numerous Saints scrambling and searching everywhere, and felt they were no different from rural bandits.
He chose a higher spot, plopped down on the cushion before the statue, and waited for their scramble to end and for Yuan Zu and the others to finish their exploration, to see if the path to the Immortals and Gods truly existed.
After all, it was a path leading to the Immortals' and Gods' final resting place; Li Hao couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity.
He made no move to compete or snatch, sitting there in stark contrast to the surrounding Saints who frantically probed and fought over the hall's strange and wondrous treasures.
As he observed, he suddenly felt the cushion beneath him sink inward, a steady suction surging into his body, drawing and absorbing his inner power.
Li Hao froze, leapt up quickly, and stared at the cushion in shock.
The cushion was dull gray, seemingly unchanged; Li Hao cautiously released a bit of power and confirmed it was indeed being absorbed.
Yet the cushion, like an endless abyss, absorbed vast amounts of power without any visible change.
As Li Hao prepared to take the cushion and examine what strange treasure it might be, a thunderous boom suddenly echoed from within the statue before him.
Immediately, Li Hao saw a beam of light shoot from the statue's eyes, enveloping his body.
Then, a force of spatial primordial law washed over him; his vision blurred, and when he reappeared, two sacred auras stood beside him.
This anomaly also stirred the other Saints inside the grand hall.
"Where's Lord General Hao Tian?"
"Where did he go? It seems he triggered something—he was transported away by the statue."
"Could this be the path to the Immortals and Gods?!"
The many Saints who had been fighting over treasures instantly grew excited; some abandoned their plundering altogether and rushed to the statue.
Ming Sheng's eyes flashed with anger; he gave up seizing the pearl and hurried to the cushion.
He stared intently, quickly discerning the truth, then raised his hand and unleashed power to envelop the cushion. Soon after, the statue's eyes emitted another beam of light, engulfing him.
As the Saints gathered before the statue, Li Hao, who had been the first to be teleported, saw two familiar figures beside him.
Hun Tian Huntian Shengren and Long Sheng.
Both of them were slightly stunned upon seeing Li Hao suddenly appear, clearly unprepared for his abrupt arrival.
When Li Hao saw Hun Tian Huntian Shengren, his expression darkened.
He remembered that aura—back at the central fork of the three paths. So, did the statue teleport him directly into the heart of the central fork?
Li Hao swiftly scanned his surroundings and subtly stepped back.
"How did you get here?"
Long Sheng asked Li Hao directly, curious.
"Yuan Zu sent me here," Li Hao said.
Hun Tian Huntian Shengren narrowed his eyes and sneered: "You seem afraid of something. Afraid of me? Someone must have told you something."
Long Sheng glanced at him, understood at once, and smiled: "Then I won't disturb you."
Whoosh! Li Hao turned and ran straight away. This was a palace hall, but fortunately, corridors ran along both sides—he bolted quickly, cursing inwardly.
He'd only wanted to sit and rest a moment, and now he'd been mysteriously teleported here—this was too damn frustrating.
