Chapter 1073: Standard of Downgrading

Pitter-patter...

A light rain fell drop by drop, hitting the window sill, one petal falling into eight pieces, looking like a monkey's butt.

In Dai Mingsheng's slightly cooled office, the atmosphere began to become relaxed.

These were all daily affairs of the bureau. Although they needed to be coordinated in a meeting, Dai Mingsheng had been in the Criminal Investigation Detachment for nearly ten years, and communication in all aspects had long been smooth, so coordination was very easy at this time.

The emotions of the deputies were also very stable. The big event recently was the film and television city case. Now that it was mentioned, it was still a bit troublesome. But the root cause of the problem had been solved. For the police, the remaining things were nothing, nothing more than cooperating with the tone of the propaganda department.

Dai Mingsheng flipped through the documents in front of him lightly, his thoughts drifting away with the light rain—I don't know how Jiang Yuan is choosing the cases. There are still a few cold cases left in Lanyue City. No matter which case can be completed, Dai Mingsheng feels it is very good, and it can be regarded as wiping away a wisp of dust from his police career.

However, Dai Mingsheng guessed that Jiang Yuan would probably not choose these serious and major cases. Dai Mingsheng had heard of Jiang Yuan's work in Changyang City and Beijing, and Dai Mingsheng also believed in Jiang Yuan's investigation ability, but what everyone knew clearly was that "being able to do" and "willing to do" are two different things.

Those serious and major cases are the focus of headaches for all parties during the current case stage. After several years, how many people have the confidence to take them out and do them again?

Actually, it's fine if they can be done, but what if they can't? Trying to open a cold case group secretly by one's own people is something every local police station does every year, but to say, what are the results of these cold case groups? Most of them were disbanded silently.

If cold cases were easy to do, they wouldn't become cold cases. Any local city bureau or county bureau, if an ordinary police officer can solve a homicide cold case, he will immediately become the star of the year, not to mention meritorious service and awards, and the subsequent one or two years of advanced individuals and advanced collectives are guaranteed. These things may not reach the level of promotion, but in terms of normal rank promotion, there will be no obstacles for many years to come.

But going to another place is different. Especially a star detective like Jiang Yuan, whose reputation is growing, probably doesn't want a cold case to become a cold case again in his hands.

Considering this angle, Dai Mingsheng felt that Jiang Yuan should choose to downgrade the cases.

And Jiang Yuan choosing this way, Dai Mingsheng would also understand very well.

If he were to go to Changyang City or Ningtai County to do a case, even out of responsibility to the team members, he would firmly make this choice.

It is not easy to pull out a good team, and the team relies not only on resources but also on devouring a huge amount of sense of honor to become cohesive.

Precisely because of this, Dai Mingsheng didn't even urge Jiang Yuan.

Just let him choose a cold case that is easy to do and can support the facade. After Jiang Yuan downgrades and does a few cold cases, I will quietly insert a major cold case, and squeeze Jiang Yuan well. If it can be done, then it is really a profit. Even if it can't be done, it doesn't matter. Let it pass quietly, change another one, or wait for a while and invite Jiang Yuan to come again.

Dai Mingsheng knew the temperaments of experts very well, especially young and vigorous elite experts like Jiang Yuan. If a case fails in Lanyue City, he will definitely take revenge by plowing the land three feet deep. How many old bandits have died because of this?

"Branch Leader Dai, this is our expenditure for a period of time recently." A subordinate put a new document in front of Dai Mingsheng.

Dai Mingsheng flipped it open casually, habitually flipped through a few pages, and then flipped to the end, and trembled at that time: "Why didn't I see this before?"

"This was sent by Political Huang Zhengwei Qiangmin of the Ningtai County Bureau. It's not the previous expenses, it's the expenses for the new case." The subordinate lowered his head and replied.

"It's not the previous expenses, that's good... no..." Dai Mingsheng responded subconsciously, and then immediately raised his head: "The expenses for the new case won't work either. This number is too exaggerated!"

"Because it was agreed that items can be used for price reduction, so the budget has to be made higher. Otherwise, the price of some second-hand items is actually not that high, and Ningtai Huang's side will feel that it's a bit of a loss..."

"He doesn't want it, I don't want to give it either. What is called a second-hand item! My newly bought GL8, newly decorated GL8, I checked the decoration drawings three times myself, and I haven't sat in it for long, and he took it away. Is that called a second-hand item? It should be a price increase!" Dai Mingsheng raised his voice. He was really unhappy.

The subordinate said cautiously: "But, there are few items like your car, and Political Huang Zhengwei also allows us to list the names ourselves. In this way..."

"Are you a Lanyue person, or a Ningtai person?" Dai Mingsheng said sharply: "Money shouldn't be spent like this for a case, you go negotiate again."

"Yes... then I'll negotiate with Ningtai Huang again." The subordinate replied hurriedly.

The conversation between the two ended, and the office was quiet.

Dai Mingsheng didn't speak for a while, and others couldn't speak.

After a long time, Dai Mingsheng said: "Change the tea."

Amidst the sound of cups, Dai Mingsheng lit a cigarette.

With him taking the lead, the office was suddenly filled with smoke.

Dai Mingsheng smoked a cigarette and said to the subordinate just now: "I'm not a stingy person. If I take my newly changed Passat, I won't be reluctant. But let's be clear, some cold cases are things we can do ourselves, but they require time, personnel, and a lot of resources. Such cold cases are not very necessary to transfer to Jiang Yuan. Of course, if he is willing to do it, based on long-term considerations, I also agree, but the expenditure should at least not be higher than our own expenditure, at least not much higher, right?"

"Jiang Yuan brought more than thirty people." Deputy Lin Xunlei felt he said a fair word.

"Giving less for ordinary cases is to let him do the cases we have burdens with. Actually, I don't ask for anything else. The Li Aiyuan case ends smoothly. If Jiang Yuan and the others are willing to pick 'soft persimmons,' picking one or two, or even three, is reasonable. But the expenditure in this regard cannot be too high. Finally, we still have to ask them to do major cases."

"What size case counts as a major case?" Lin Xunlei asked.

"Didn't we discuss it earlier? There must be some statement." Dai Mingsheng was also unwilling to give a clear standard.

Lin Xunlei said jokingly: "Like the Li Yaoji murder case?"

Dai Mingsheng was stunned, then imagined it, and turned to laugh.

"Hahahaha..." The captains and political commissars in the office suddenly burst into hearty laughter.

Knock knock.

A knock on the door sounded.

"Come in." Dai Mingsheng frowned.

A big head entered the door: "Branch Leader Dai, Ningtai Huang... Political Huang Zhengwei from Ningtai is here."

"He should have made a decision." Dai Mingsheng was awe-inspiring: "Please invite Political Huang Zhengwei in."

Dai Mingsheng looked at everyone again and said: "Based on the principles we just discussed, everyone organize their expressions."

A group of old men stood up one after another, putting on the posture that criminal police should have, with an awe-inspiring, majestic, and sincere atmosphere surrounding them, an atmosphere that could stop children from crying. ===== CHAPTER 1074 =====
