Chapter 389: Investigation
"Keep searching." Jiang Yuan finished collecting evidence from the warehouse and stepped out to find Li Li and Da Zhuang.
This aimless search now felt like hunting in the mountains—no idea where the prey was, or even which direction it might be in. Better to let the dog lead than wander blindly yourself.
Li Li replied, concerned: "Was there any issue with the earlier case? Should we pursue it further?"
"It's basically solved. Both suspects likely have records—we'll just match them later and arrest them for processing." Jiang Yuan shook his head slightly. "Finding the suspect isn't hard here. What's interesting is one ambushing the other—that's rare. If the victim hadn't been much larger and still had strong combat ability, this would've been a murder case."
"People's Liqi is so heavy these days." Li Li shook her head. "I'm done with it then. I'll take Da Zhuang to find the dog. Honestly, finding a dog is easier than chasing suspects. Some people—if I let Da Zhuang bite them, I'll still have to brush his teeth when I get back."
Jiang Yuan smiled and comforted her with a few words.

"When Director Huang was still Captain Huang, he never gave me even half a month off." Li Li grimaced.
"This trip counts as our team's. After every major case, we always have leftover leave—we can spare you some extra." Jiang Yuan spoke casually. His Jiang Yuan Cold Case Unit operated semi-independently; when Jiang Yuan requested leave, it was approved without question.
After all, he was technically always on assignment—his workload was already over the limit.
Li Li's mood lifted instantly. She straightened her broad chest, then squatted down to re-scent the Rottweiler with the cloth from the Guihua pad in the dog crate.
Da Zhuang didn't know why his handler was happy, but dogs didn't need to overthink it. If the master was joyful, the dog was joyful too. Worrying about values, duty, lofty ideals, or the meaning of life? That was just unnecessary trouble.
Zhang Qi left a few men to continue assisting the Ningtai County Police Dog Unit in the search. He himself led the majority straight to the nearby logistics center.
Severe injury cases could never be compared to homicides, let alone cold homicide cases. But from another angle, severe injury cases were also eight...
