Chapter 213: Jonin's Pressure

Just as Kakashi and the others were sprinting north as fast as they could, a figure with lightning flickering around its feet caught up.

Berkeley was extremely fast; every time Obito looked back, he could see him getting closer.

Although ninja rank is not determined solely by strength, under normal circumstances a higher-ranked ninja generally has the power to overwhelm a lower-ranked one.

Of course, this is under normal circumstances; special examples like Obito and Might Guy, though only trainee ninjas who aren't even genin, have strength that surpasses many chunin.

If they had been facing seven or eight chunin, Kakashi wouldn't have been too worried, but a jonin is different; every ninja who can become a jonin is one in a hundred, a core asset in any ninja village.
