Chapter 305: Don't Mourn Obito; Green Beast Might Guy Arrives
Ninja Academy Teacher: I Get Stronger Just by Teaching, Chapter 223: No Need to Mourn Obito—The Green Beast, Might Guy, Arrives on the Battlefield. A massive amount of chakra gathered in Obito's throat, and with the enhancement of the Flame Breathing, it underwent nature transformation at extreme speed, finally turning into blazing hot flames that Obito spat out.
"Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!"
Orange-red flames burst from Obito's mouth, instantly spewing a fire surge far larger than a Great Fireball; the spat flames writhed wildly like countless fire snakes.
This was the difficulty of the Fire Dragon Flame Bullet—controlling so many flames to attack from multiple directions at once severely tested a ninja's skill.
Obito kept spitting flames; the fire in front of him grew larger and larger, and streams of fire snakes surged toward the oncoming white mist.
Faced with such fierce fire release, the white mist that had previously swallowed the Great Fireball could no longer act arrogantly. The orange-red sea of fire steadily drove back the white mist, and the muddy ground became dry under the terrifying heat of the flames.
"This guy actually mastered such a high-level fire release." Seeing Obito's fire suppress her Boil Release, Terumi Mei was greatly surprised.
If only comparing jutsu, she had never met a peer who could match her, yet Obito was strong in taijutsu and even stronger in ninjutsu—it made Terumi Mei feel like she was facing an upgraded version of herself.
"But unfortunately, what you use is fire release." Terumi Mei canceled her Boil Release chakra output, stopped spitting mist, then rapidly retreated and formed hand seals to perform a water release jutsu.
After Terumi Mei stopped maintaining Boil Release, Obito's Fire Dragon Flame Bullet instantly surged forward at an increased speed; the white mist vanished, leaving only orange-red flames charging continuously toward Terumi Mei.
When Terumi Mei could almost physically feel the incoming sea of fire, she completed her final hand seal.
At that moment, the flames were extremely close to Terumi Mei; the red glow of the fire enveloped her, as if in the next instant it would swallow her whole.
"Water Release: Water Formation Pillar!"
A terrifying volume of water spewed from Terumi Mei's mouth, instantly extinguishing the flames in front of her, and then the entire sea of fire Obito had spat was put out by this suddenly erupting water sphere.
Terumi Mei, her face reddened, continued maintaining the water release; having just faced the high-temperature flames, her face was scorched red.
This could be considered daring on her part—because the distance from Obito was relatively far and she was confident in her water release, she adopted this method to counter Obito's Fire Dragon Flame Bullet.
Normally, if a ninjutsu clash failed, one would have to find a way to dodge.
But Terumi Mei knew this wave of ninjutsu clash was crucial; even if she wanted to dodge, the wide attack range of this fire release left little room to evade, and Obito would surely take the chance to suppress her with taijutsu, leaving her little chance of winning.
Conversely, if her water release could suppress Obito's fire release in this clash, she could use her water release skills to catch Obito off guard.
"Damn it, why does it seem like everyone from Kirigakure knows water release." Obito watched helplessly as the large expanse of flames he had spat vanished in less than twenty seconds, feeling immensely frustrated.
With Muyue's guidance, Obito was well aware of the chakra affinity relationship—fire release was at a huge disadvantage against water release. With similar strength, fire would inevitably be suppressed by water; only with a significant strength advantage could fire overpower water.
Obito observed the entire battle with his peripheral vision, preparing to find an opportunity to switch opponents with Kakashi. Fighting Terumi Mei was too stifling, and with his Sharingan, he had strong endurance; handling a two-on-one and stalling was easier for him than for Kakashi.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Jutsu!"
Terumi Mei maintained her control of the water release, using shape transformation to convert the Water Formation Pillar into a massive, thick water dragon.
Obito was somewhat stunned by the sudden appearance of the enormous water dragon; it was the first time he had seen a jutsu that could transform into another jutsu after being used.
He desperately burst chakra trying to dodge, but because the water dragon was already extremely close, he was directly sent flying backward by the massive Water Dragon Bullet, crashing through five large trees before stopping.
"Cough, cough." Having endured such a heavy blow, Obito's breathing became labored; he coughed twice before barely managing to stand using the power of his breathing method.
"To stand up after taking an attack like that—but do you still have the strength to keep fighting?" Terumi Mei didn't take the opportunity to attack; instead, she remarked on Obito's tenacity.
Obito looked at Kakashi and Rin Nohara, who were still fighting, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and replied, "Of course I do. My comrades are still fighting—what reason do I have to fall?"
This sentence was not only an answer to Terumi Mei's question but also something Obito said to himself.
He struggled to maintain Total Concentration Breathing, continuously focusing and refocusing his breath; the breathing method accelerated his body's recovery, though it couldn't heal instantly like medical jutsu, every bit of recovery increased his chances at this moment.
Against a full-strength Obito, Terumi Mei avoided his edge; against a heavily wounded Obito, she struck hard, engaging him in taijutsu combat.
Obito's Sharingan was still active; he could still see through Terumi Mei's attacks as before, but his body had become sluggish due to his injuries.
Bang!
After a minute of skirmishing, Obito was knocked to the ground by Terumi Mei's punch. Though he stood up quickly, his aura visibly weakened.
"Still want to continue? Actually, you've already lost." Terumi Mei crossed her arms and looked at Obito.
At this point, Obito's condition was very poor; if Terumi Mei wanted, she even had a chance to kill him.
"I can still stand—what makes you say I've lost?" Obito panted in rebuttal.
"How troublesome. Are all you Konoha ninjas like this?" Terumi Mei was somewhat exasperated; she had already vented most of her anger over the strawberry ice cream. She had no intention of killing Obito, only wanting to obtain two scrolls to pass the exam.
Seeing that Terumi Mei seemed to have no further intention to attack, Obito remained silent, focusing on recovery and refraining from initiating an attack.
"The Mist ninja on Obito's side actually has this kind of strength..." Kakashi noticed the situation on Obito's side and frowned.
He felt that they might have encountered all the strongest people in the Chunin Exams. You know, they had never failed in missions against experienced chunin teams, yet now they were cornered by two genin squads. These were definitely not ordinary genin.
At this moment, Kakashi had no way out. Obito had almost lost. Although Rin Nohara had an advantage on her side, she couldn't quickly eliminate the enemy. And Kakashi himself had consumed a lot of stamina from using Lightning Breathing for a long time, now he was at the end of his rope.
Kakashi was extremely calm at this moment. Although he didn't have a surefire plan, there was still a glimmer of hope. He would bet all his remaining chakra and stamina on the final strike.
If he could take out the strongest, Kisame, then there was still a chance. Mei Terumi was strong, but her two teammates were inferior to Kurozawa and Zabuza.
Just as Kakashi was about to use his final Lightning Flash, a familiar voice reached his ears.
"Damn, ganging up on him. Let me, Konoha's Green Beast, take you on!"
Might Guy saw Kakashi looking disheveled and the two Mist ninja surrounding him, and his anger instantly maxed out.
"Eight Gates Released Formation, Gate of Opening, open! Gate of Rest, open!"
Might Guy immediately entered the Rock Breathing state and opened two gates. Using the power from Rock Breathing and the chakra of the Eight Gates, he sprinted to Kakashi and delivered a whirlwind kick, forcing Kisame and the Mist genin back.
Kakashi had never found Might Guy's voice so pleasant, and even Might Guy's green jumpsuit seemed cool.
"This is a big brawl." Tokara Shiranui, running behind, scanned the area and found that aside from them, there were actually twelve other ninja here.
"Let's go help Obito. He looks like he's in worse shape." Ebisu noticed that Obito, who was confronting Mei Terumi, looked even worse than Kakashi.
Tokara Shiranui nodded, and together they threw ninja tools at Mei Terumi, forcing her back, then ran toward Obito.
"Another squad of ninja." Mei Terumi dodged the shuriken and noticed the Konoha forehead protectors on the two ninja attacking her.
Mei Terumi was somewhat tempted to just grab an Earth Scroll and run. At this rate, wouldn't all the ninja squads in the area come over?
"Obito, are you okay?" Tokara Shiranui asked, keeping his eyes on Mei Terumi.
"It's nothing. Just some fractures in a few places." Seeing reinforcements, Obito immediately relaxed and said with a smile.
"That's a big deal, you're fractured." Tokara Shiranui remarked.
"Obito, rest. We'll handle her." Ebisu said, pulling out a kunai.
"Yeah, be careful. Her Water Release can change techniques — she can suddenly turn a water ball into a Water Dragon Bullet. She also has a powerful mist jutsu." Obito didn't stand on ceremony, sitting down and leaning against a nearby tree to rest, then warned the two.
Tokara Shiranui and Ebisu were average in strength, but Mei Terumi was not at her peak either. In her fight with Obito, she had used three jutsu consecutively.
Obito's expectations for them weren't high; just stall for a few minutes. To truly change the battle situation, it would have to be Might Guy.
Although being on a team with Rin Nohara was pleasant, if talking about the teammate who could give Obito the most sense of security, it had to be Might Guy. He always steps up in dangerous moments.
Obito continuously used breathing to recover his body while keeping an eye on the situation with Kakashi and Might Guy.
"Kakashi, can you still fight?" Might Guy asked, while keeping an eye on the enemy's movements.
"No problem for now. I'll hold off that shark-face. You quickly take out the other Mist ninja." Kakashi quickly drew up the next plan of action.
"A long-awaited joint battle. Leave it to me!" Might Guy gave Kakashi a thumbs up, his breathing becoming more focused, and began gathering chakra.
Kakashi nodded quickly, brandishing the White Fang Short Blade and charging at Kisame. After being stifled for so long, it was his turn to counterattack.
Another chapter coming up later. Also, a small request for monthly tickets — it's already the end of the month.
If I update less during my cold, I'll try to make up for it. Today I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday. Not fully recovered, but not as uncomfortable.
