Chapter 82: Opening the Door to a New World

~7 min read 1,220 words

"Right now, our Deception Art doesn't seem to have much distance from ordinary Clone Technique."

During the break between classes, Gangsteel couldn't help but sigh.

"Yeah, whether you turn into a monster or turn into the other person, against a powerful opponent it's essentially no different from an ordinary Clone Technique." Kamizuki Izumo nodded and said.

From class sparring to grade sparring, they had watched two fights between Anko and Shisui.

From their perspective, Anko had already done well enough—after creating a clone that looked like Shisui, she pulled off a real-fake Anko trick.

Even so, Anko still failed to confuse Shisui and was easily defeated.

"I still think we should follow my approach—instantly create enough attention-grabbing clones, then strike while the opportunity is there." Kamizuki Izumo felt his idea was correct; it's just that the monsters he could create now weren't scary enough.

"But Izumo, you couldn't even beat Anko." Gangsteel refuted.

"But I beat you, Gangsteel." Kamizuki Izumo pointed out that he at least won against Gangsteel.

"If you can beat Shisui, then I'll admit your approach is fine." Gangsteel wanted to shift the topic to Shisui.

But Kamizuki Izumo had already seen through Gangsteel's intention and chuckled, "I only need to have beaten you, Gangsteel."

"You got thrashed by Anko."

"I beat you." Kamizuki Izumo struck at the weak point.

Gangsteel couldn't hold it together anymore—he felt that final exam was a major failure in his life.

"You two really don't understand anything, do you?" Ebisu, who was passing by, heard their conversation and pushed up his sunglasses by the nose bridge with one finger, speaking disdainfully.

Such a good idea, and you waste it on turning into monsters. What a pity.

"Who are you...?" Gangsteel scratched his head, a little confused.

"I think he's a senior from Group B." Kamizuki Izumo said quietly.

Because Ebisu wore sunglasses, Kamizuki Izumo had some impression of him.

"Senior, since you know we don't get it, why not give us some pointers?" Gangsteel felt it was good to pool ideas.

As he spoke, Gangsteel took out a bag of chips and handed it to Ebisu.

Ebisu looked around for a moment, and only when he saw no one particularly close by did he accept the chips.

Ebisu sat down, then gestured for Kamizuki Izumo and Gangsteel to come closer.

"Your idea is fine—the most important thing about the Clone Technique is to distract the enemy. But you shouldn't be thinking about turning into monsters." Ebisu said to Kamizuki Izumo.

"Instead of turning into a monster, why not turn into..." As Ebisu spoke, his voice dropped much lower, and Kamizuki Izumo's and Gangsteel's eyes grew wider and wider.

"Senior, are you a genius or what?" Gangsteel said with genuine admiration.

He imagined the Deception Art as described by Ebisu, and he felt he would absolutely fall for it—what man could resist that kind of temptation?

"I think this technique has great potential." Kamizuki Izumo couldn't wait to develop it following Ebisu's idea.

"Ahem, when you use it, don't say it was my idea." Ebisu looked around again before saying.

Gangsteel nodded. Then he asked, "Senior, what's your name? My name is Gangsteel."

"My name is Kamizuki Izumo." Kamizuki Izumo introduced himself.

"Ebisu." Ebisu stood up and said without looking back.

Gangsteel and Kamizuki Izumo silently memorized the name and watched Ebisu leave, their eyes full of respect—this was the grace of passing on wisdom.

Today, Ebisu had helped them open a door to a new world.

Around the time school let out in the afternoon, Muzuki called a halt to the training and gathered everyone together.

"Starting this week, every week there will be a skill test, and every two weeks a practical sparring test. Those who perform well can be promoted to a higher group for training." Muzuki announced the upcoming exam schedule for the special training.

In the end, Muzuki couldn't resist the urge to try and exploit the system for a bug.

Disciples who performed well in exams received rewards. He had little authority at the ninja school and couldn't affect the number of exams, but this summer special training was entirely under his control—he could test as often as he wanted.

Although he had thought this might not work before, now that he had the ability to try, he still wanted to give it a shot.

Even if there were no rewards, it wouldn't affect anything. But if it worked, it would be a huge gain.

"What's the difference between these two?" Hongdou asked.

"The strength test doesn't require you to fight; it examines your mastery of ninjutsu, taijutsu, and other subjects through an exam format. The actual combat test involves team members fighting according to the ninja school's real combat exam mode," Muyue explained.

With Muyue's explanation, Hongdou understood: the strength test was like yesterday's grouping test, and the actual combat test was about fighting.

When Muyue finished explaining the arrangements, it was time for class to end. Muyue didn't delay; he directly announced class was over.

Next, Muyue did the same as yesterday: first went back to the main city district to eat, then went to the Southern Forest to teach his disciples.

But after the disciples left, Muyue didn't return to the main city district; instead, he continued his own training.

"It's done." Muyue looked at the chakra sphere emitting a faint glow in his palm and the Rasengan that had already been learned in his skill list, and nodded with satisfaction.

Although he knew the training process for the Rasengan and had proficient-grade chakra shape transformation, he had spent too little time on the Rasengan, so only now had he completed its training.

Every day, Muyue had to teach classes and disciples, delve into sealing techniques, and recently added the breathing method for body tempering. Only after completing all that would he start developing the Rasengan.

The reason he treated the Rasengan with such low importance was mainly because it didn't help much to improve his strength at the current stage.

The Rasengan consumes too much chakra. Don't be fooled by it being just a palm-sized chakra sphere; it's highly compressed chakra inside, requiring a lot of chakra.

For him at present, the payoff of using the Rasengan was not as good as other high-level ninjutsu.

Muyue's main purpose in developing the Rasengan was to give Minato a helping hand when he later developed it, putting Minato in his debt.

The Rasengan was inspired by the Tailed Beast Ball. Kushina couldn't use a Tailed Beast Ball to hit Minato, and considering the time factor, it could only be that he encountered a tailed beast on the battlefield during the Third Shinobi World War and got the inspiration.

So, Minato probably hasn't completed the development of the Rasengan yet.

Before having invincible strength, Muyue hoped to have as many good friends as possible.

Secondly, even though it's useless now, that doesn't mean it won't be useful later.

Later, when he has more chakra and masters Sage Mode, he can create the Rasenshuriken and develop various nature-transformed Rasengans. If all else fails, it's not bad for farming rewards from his disciples.
