Chapter 109

Although the Sanhua Tong Secret Method only grants the ability to see the flow of spiritual energy — something most cultivators can also sense with their spiritual sense — for Yan Buji, a Martial and Law Dual Cultivator, it is of extraordinary significance.

Yan Buji steadied his Golden Vertical Pupil, and only after meditating for half a month did he gradually return to normal.

"The danger of refining Abnormal Material exceeds my imagination; without so many Spiritual Stones, and without my mana being able to wear down the Mutant Force, I doubt I could even maintain balance!"

Even so, the final surge of Chaos from his Golden Vertical Pupil seemed to seize the moment when his essence, energy, and spirit were at their weakest, showing how strange and uncanny this Abnormal Material is.

Fortunately, Yan Buji had once undergone the illusionary training of the King of Hell's Judgment of Ghosts, his will was firm enough, and he steadied his mind so as not to be affected by the Chaos.

Otherwise, he might have failed at the last moment; if his mind could not withstand the residual Mutant Force in his Golden Vertical Pupil rushing into his Mud Marrow Palace, he would likely undergo mutation instantly and become an Abnormal Beast.

The price paid for mastering the Sanhua Tong Secret Method this time was indeed huge, but it concerns his future cultivation; as for the cost, there will always be a way to repay it.

Yan Buji slowly opened his eyes; a thread of golden light flashed in his left eye, but faintly there also followed a trace of blood-red, which vanished in an instant.

"I saw it, I saw it! Spiritual energy, is this really spiritual energy?!"

However, Yan Buji didn't care about the state of his left eye; instead, he looked around excitedly.

The specks of spiritual light drifting between heaven and earth were barely perceptible, yet they left a trace!

Being able to see spiritual energy with the naked eye alone truly lives up to being the secret method of the Hundred Herbs Sect!

Yan Buji tried infusing mana; his left eye instantly took on the form of a Golden Vertical Pupil, and the spiritual energy flowing in the air suddenly became disordered, faintly emitting a most unfavorable aura.

"Wrong!"

Yan Buji quickly stopped infusing mana, looked puzzled as the spiritual energy in the air gradually returned to normal, utterly bewildered.

What's going on?

"I recall that if the Sanhua Tong Secret Method is activated with mana, it should be able to slightly control the flow of spiritual energy in the direction I imagine, which would be good for cultivating spiritual herbs... so why did it suddenly become disordered?"

Disordered?

Chaos!

Right, could it be that the Mutant Force inherent in the Abnormal Material itself caused this situation?

Yan Buji closed his left eye and felt it carefully.

Indeed, after infusing some mana into his left eye, even while operating the Sanhua Tong Secret Method, the Mutant Force contained within had already begun to increase slightly!

"The Mutant Force of Abnormal Material does not stabilize at a level worn down; instead, it gradually increases with continual use—no wonder cultivators both love and hate Abnormal Material." Yan Buji sighed.

Unless the Mutant Force is completely worn down, but without it, can it still be called Abnormal Material?

Yan Buji remained silent for a long time.

Either way, having mastered the Sanhua Tong Secret Method means that even as a Martial and Law Dual Cultivator, Yan Buji can see spiritual energy, and by cultivating the Planting Tree Manual through what he sees, he should progress somewhat faster than before.

However, no matter what, one must not lightly use mana to activate the Sanhua Tong Secret Method; the phenomenon of causing spiritual energy to become strangely chaotic does not seem like an innate technique carried by the Golden Vertical Pupil itself, does it?

Or perhaps....

Could it be that the innate technique of the Golden Vertical Pupil itself is not an Illusion Art, but rather this effect of Chaos?

Perhaps only because Yan Buji directly used Abnormal Material Refinement, preserving a fairly complete Chaos effect, and because the Sanhua Tong Secret Method can slightly control the flow of spiritual energy, does it cause the spiritual energy to become chaotic?

Just now, Yan Buji felt that the chaotic spiritual energy was about to explode; if one could truly cause an explosion where he sees by means of chaotic spiritual energy, that would indeed be a nifty killing move!

At least it is sufficiently covert!

After all, in cultivators' battles, it is normal for heaven and earth to be affected and for the flow of spiritual energy to become abnormally disordered; if his Sanhua Tong Secret Method were cultivated to a high level, he could instead control the disorder of the surrounding spiritual energy to launch a sneak attack on the enemy......

This move would certainly be something ordinary people could not think of!

Yan Buji chuckled, but testing the Sanhua Tong Secret Method will have to wait for another time.

Now he must hurry to deal with the Spiritual Stones he has misappropriated, figuring out how to make up the shortfall.

As the Shopkeeper of Hundred Treasures Shop, although Yan Buji has not shown his face for a long time, the shop has still not encountered any major incidents.

Liu Yun saw Yan Buji leave the door and exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Yan, you've left seclusion so quickly?"

"Mm, I've gained a little." Yan Buji chuckled.

"Really impressive, unlike me who is slow at learning anything." Liu Yun shrugged, seeming not to mind, and self-deprecatingly said.

Yan Buji was in a good mood, so he comforted him with a few sentences: "Liu Yun, you should know that being able to set foot on the path of cultivation already makes you far stronger than ordinary mortals. If you weren't so lackadaisical, without saying anything else, your talent would surely be better than mine."

"Is that so? Brother Yan, don't comfort me like that—I know what I'm like already." Hehehe. Liu Yun chuckled a few times.

Yan Buji laughed and shook his head: "How is the shop?"

"The advertising fees for these past months have been collected, but Brother Yan, shouldn't we also restock the shop? Many goods are gone."

"Alright, I'll handle it."

"Hey, you go ahead and be busy; I'll watch the shop." Liu Yun said with a laugh.

Yan Buji walked out of the Hundred Treasures Shop; although the amount of Spiritual Stones spent on mastering the Sanhua Tong Secret Method was not a small sum, for him there were plenty of ways to cook the books.

But it's unnecessary.

He still needs to maintain his connection with Wei Zifeng; if Wei Zifeng truly is a disciple of the Fire Bear Sect intending to promote him, offending him over this matter could cause a huge loss.

As for the shortage of Spiritual Stones, Yan Buji thought it over and still plans to make up the deficit through normal business activities.

That is, allocate part of the pure profit to the cost, then use the concealed profit to make up the shortfall.

Of course, this method works only once; it cannot be used long-term.

Moreover, Yan Buji has many ways to divert profit, such as raising the selling price while offering a small discount, then using the discount scheme bundled with other goods to earn a price difference.

It amounts to wanting a discount but having to buy another item, of course that item's price will be below market price. Earning the price difference means reducing cost consumption, i. e., the item in the discount scheme is not a good product but a inferior one.

You say it's fake?

No, it can't be fake; it's just that the effect is slightly worse, otherwise how could it be below market price?

Therefore, this requires negotiating cooperation with the producers' merchants; by obtaining discounts through bulk purchases while calculating the selling price and price difference of this batch clearly, one can achieve an increase in pure profit.

With this set of measures, basically no one will be dissatisfied.

Yan Buji simply takes some kickbacks behind the scenes, which is hardly blameworthy.
