Chapter 608: with translation of chapter title

Ma Liu also said: "The Refining Instruments Hall originally had a lower status than the Alchemy Hall, after all everyone knows a bit of refining technique, but alchemy technique truly requires talent. The Refining Instruments Hall's resources are directly linked to the Treasure Vault; if older brother attaches the Alchemy Hall to the Internal Affairs Hall, they will definitely target him."

Yan Buji smiled: "But I'm only temporary; ultimately, even if they attack me, their main goal is still to attack Elder Feng, right? With Elder Feng present, major problems won't fall on me."

Ma Liu smiled: "Older brother sees it clearly. The Alchemy Hall and Refining Instruments Hall are like that. The other Transmitting Skills Hall, Law Enforcement Hall, plus the Miscellaneous Workers Hall—big and small, inside the Outer Gate it's quite complex."

Yan Buji pinched his chin: "According to my thinking, is the Internal Affairs Hall originally supposed to oversee the other halls?"

That's not the case; the Law Enforcement Hall has enforcement authority but cannot interfere with other halls' internal affairs; the Internal Affairs Hall only distributes resources and calculates task contributions, and cannot act arbitrarily; the Miscellaneous Workers Hall is responsible for dispatching disciples, while the Alchemy Hall and Refining Instruments Hall have clear duties—by rights, older brother shouldn't be able to enter the Alchemy Hall so easily." Ma Liu implied.

Yan Buji suddenly realized: "So the Miscellaneous Workers Hall has a good relationship with the Internal Affairs Hall?"

Exactly, all disciples need to be registered in the Miscellaneous Workers Hall, unless a hall master personally takes on disciples, or the Inner Gate requires talent and then they won't be recorded. But if older brother becomes a hall master right away, things would be off." Ma Liu looked at Yan Buji, also looking worried.

Yan Buji nodded and said: "If that's the case, I have a favor to ask of you, younger brother."

Older brother, please speak.

No matter what, I am already the hall master of the Alchemy Hall; you just tell those fellow brothers day-to-day that, as long as it's not for the Six-turn Celestial Pill, anyone with a need can register at the Internal Affairs Hall, and I'll take however much.

This... older brother, can you handle it? Can one person refine that much?

Yan Buji smiled: "I'm an Alchemist; how could I disdain refining too little medicine?"

Will this work?" Ma Liu asked.

Naturally.

All right, I'll tell people.

Mm, thanks.

Older brother, you're welcome.

Seeing Ma Liu leave, Yan Buji narrowed his eyes.

What he said matches Feng Yue exactly; it seems they had already coordinated their story.

Thinking that, Yan Buji wandered around nearby, listening to the disciples' discussions, and roughly understood the problem.

It seems that in the Outer Gate of the Paolong Sacred Land, various forces are intertwined complexly; if one wants to make a move, it's nothing more than winning over some and suppressing others. It's a pity that I currently have almost no usable people, so in that case.....

Yan Buji smiled and turned to leave.

After a while.

Ma Liu didn't return to his residence but went to the Internal Affairs Hall.

Greetings, Senior Brother Yang.

Yang Yunshu raised his eyebrows: "What's up? Anything?"

Yan... Yan Buji really asked about the Outer Gate affairs." Ma Liu paused, then corrected himself.

Yang Yunshu nodded: "Then it seems you really said what I taught you."

Yes.

What did he say?

He said to have the junior brother tell others about the Alchemy Hall's affairs, and then those with needs can just register at the Internal Affairs Hall; he'll take however much.

Yang Yunshu exclaimed in surprise: "Heh, interesting."

Ma Liu hesitated a bit, then asked: "What does Yan Buji want to do?"

What can he do? He was sought out by Elder Feng; even if others want to get close to him, they still have to see Elder Feng's attitude. Isn't the sole purpose of doing that to curry favor with Elder Feng?" Yang Yunshu said.

Ma Liu let out a breath: "If so, then I'll just tell the others."

Mm, these days the Refining Instruments Hall will surely try to cause trouble; those people won't stand by while Elder Feng takes the benefits of the Alchemy Hall." Yang Yunshu said this, then suddenly paused.

I see, that's what he's thinking....

What?" Ma Liu, not understanding.

Yang Yunshu smiled: "You go ahead first."

Yes.

After Ma Liu left, Yang Yunshu came to the reception hall and saw Feng Yue.

Elder Feng.

Hmm, what's the matter?

After Yang Yunshu briefly explained Ma Liu's matter, Feng Yue raised his eyebrows: "It seems Yan Buji is already prepared."

I think the same." Yang Yunshu nodded: "Since he arranged for Ma Liu to tell others about the Alchemy Hall's affairs, he's not afraid of someone causing trouble. In that case, I think we should still send someone over to back him up first."

Let Mo Dengqing go over; pause her affairs in the Miscellaneous Workers Hall for now.

Okay.

After a while.

Yang Yunshu saw Mo Dengqing.

Mo Dengqing was just scolding a few laborers; seeing Yang Yunshu approach, he waved them away and asked: "What's the matter?"

Elder Feng sent you to the Alchemy Hall to help Daoist Yan hold the fort.

Mo Dengqing frowned: "This matter doesn't concern me much, does it?"

No, precisely because you're currently an officer of the Miscellaneous Workers Hall, it does concern you." Yang Yunshu laughed.

Mo Dengqing nodded: "Alright, I'll go over. But before that, there's something you need to convey to Elder Feng."

What's up?

Mo Dengqing walked over and transmitted mentally: "That Ye Lin, something's off."

Hmm?

Yang Yunshu frowned: "What's wrong?"

Not mentioning his cultivation speed, but these days I seem to have noticed some sinister ghostly aura on him.

Sinister ghostly aura? Yin energy?!

"Not sure, but if the Inner Gate is right, soon Zhong Tian Zhi Yu will see a surge of ancient demonic sects, making Ye Lin's identity uncertain." Mo Dengqing said solemnly.

Yang Yunshu pondered: "I will naturally tell Elder Feng about this, but we have no authority to manage this matter."

"I know."

After saying that, Mo Dengqing headed toward the Lian Dan Tang.

On the other side, Yang Yunshu was also about to leave when he suddenly sensed something, turned and clasped his hands, saying:

"Greetings, Martial Uncle Wang Daolong."

"Hmm." A middle-aged man with shifty eyes appeared, squinting and grinning as he looked at him: "It's Yunshu, right? Did Xiao Mo leave?"

"Yes, Elder Feng had something for her to handle; she should be back soon."

"That's good." Wang Daolong said with a worried expression: "As the Hall Master of the Miscellaneous Affairs Hall, I have too many things each day; the people arranged by the Internal Affairs Hall are fine, but I need him back quickly, otherwise I can't handle it alone."

Yang Yunshu chuckled; this old guy was also hinting that he shouldn't forget what the Internal Affairs Hall ought to give him, otherwise don't blame him for not putting in effort.

Yang Yunshu clasped his hands and said: "Yes, Martial Uncle, I will definitely deliver the message."

"Alright, with your words I'm relieved." Wang Daolong smiled, waved his hand, and returned to the main compound.
