Chapter 799: Shifting Winds and Changing Clouds

Yuan Zhen differs from other Elders of the Great Sinful Sect; although few know his past battle exploits, everyone who remembers him fears him.

Even within the Great Sinful Sect, Yuan Zhen is among the top combatants, and concerning a supreme treasure that could enable one to attain the Dao and become a sage, even a Great Vehicle Stage cultivator would be tempted, let alone Yuan Zhen.

At this moment, Yuan Zhen lies hidden in Zhong Tian City, gathering information day and night.

"How could outsider cultivators have learned news of the Primordial Seed these past few days?" Yuan Zhen furrowed his brow, thinking such information should not be able to spread widely.

But from observations these past few days, cultivators have come to inquire from both the distant Nan Ting Mountain Region and the Bei Chuan Ice Region, let alone cultivators from the other two great regions.

Nowadays, Zhong Tian City also has many cultivators covertly monitoring those who come to investigate this matter, but they will not start a major conflict, for they too want to know who exactly leaked this information.

Where there's no wind, no waves rise; Yuan Zhen immediately sensed danger.

"The fact that cultivators from other great regions have come to inquire shows that the other four regions have already been abuzz with this news. But Zhong Tian Zhi Yu has not leaked any information... Could it be that someone also has their eye on Yun Qing?" Yuan Zhen narrowed his eyes.

Through these days of investigation, he has confirmed that Yun Qing truly possesses the Primordial Seed; this supreme treasure, though Yuan Zhen has never seen it, he has heard of its power.

The Primordial Seed not only allows cultivators to truly shed their mortal womb and be reborn, but it is also the key object for touching the origin of the Great Dao; it can be said that among the sages of the five regions today, none can break through relying solely on their own strength—they all rely on the Primordial Seed to transform into immortals and enter sainthood.

"I don't know who is spreading this in secret." Yuan Zhen narrowed his eyes, mentally reviewing who might have discovered that Yun Qing possesses the Primordial Seed, and found they had no reason to do so.

If you obtained a treasure map, would you broadcast it widely?

"It also couldn't be the Holy Heart Alliance, for if they wanted to kill Yun Qing to obtain the Primordial Seed, they wouldn't make such a big fuss. But now the cultivators of the other four regions, unaware of the background, may well have guessed that the Primordial Seed could be in Zhong Tian Zhi Yu!"

A flash of malice crossed Yuan Zhen's face; he wondered which son of a bitch would do such a harmful, self-defeating thing, stirring the world to know what good it does him!

Those outsider cultivators are not fools either; the other four regions are abuzz while your Zhong Tian Zhi Yu has not a whisper—there's definitely something wrong.

Moreover, Yun Qing happens to reside in the manor of the Grand Merchant Guild in Zhong Tian City, so this matter might also have attracted the attention of her three Great Vehicle Stage masters.

"It can also be certain that those three Great Vehicle Stage cultivators definitely do not know that Yun Qing possesses the Primordial Seed." Yuan Zhen breathed a sigh of relief and laughed.

This is also a stroke of luck amid misfortune; the Primordial Seed cannot be divined through cause-and-effect calculation. In the world there are always some treasures that may look like roadside weeds, but such a true divine object possesses an automatic shielding of heavenly secrets, or rather heaven and earth actively conceal its causal calculation, causing even those cultivators skilled in divination who know of its existence to be unable to calculate where it is.

Yuan Zhen also knows some divination techniques; even if he tried to use them to predict the movements of the Primordial Seed, all he would see is a murky gray haze.

At present, Yuan Zhen constantly monitors the movements of the Grand Merchant Guild, but he does not dare to lightly enter its manor, for there are still many experts there.

"I also don't know what the Holy Heart Alliance intends; since news of the Primordial Seed is spreading wildly across the four regions, will they not strike first?" Yuan Zhen narrowed his eyes.

After all, this is not impossible; as more and more outsider cultivators gather in Zhong Tian City, it's possible someone will notice Yun Qing's abnormality.

Yuan Zhen was contemplating this possibility when he coincidentally received a message from Wu Yuan.

Yuan Zhen glanced at it, had no mind to bother with whatever Monster Clan Merchant Guild affair, and thus ignored it.

Elsewhere.

Li Feng of the Holy Heart Alliance also noticed that the arrival of outsider cultivators was for the matter of the Primordial Seed, and his expression changed instantly.

He quickly found a senior figure of the Holy Heart Alliance, came to a courtyard in Zhong Tian City, respectfully walked into the drawing room, and saw a middle-aged person dressed in a black robe with a hood:

"Lord Zhao Ping!"

"Hmm, what is it? Does Yun Qing show any signs of going out?"

"No, but something major has happened." Li Feng's expression grew solemn as he looked at the other party.

"Oh?"

"These past few days, many outsider cultivators have arrived, almost all inquiring about the whereabouts of the Primordial Seed!"

"What?!" Zhao Ping's expression changed drastically, he widened his eyes at Li Feng: "Tell me in detail, what exactly happened?!"

"Yes!"

Li Feng recounted the information he had gathered, also emphasizing that the other four regions have already been making a big fuss over the Primordial Seed matter.

"For now, we haven't yet investigated who dares to spread this..." Li Feng said cautiously.

Bang!

Zhao Ping slammed the table, producing a loud sound that frightened Li Feng into silence.

"Now is not the time to talk about this; since the news of the Primordial Seed has already spread, and Zhong Tian Zhi Yu has no news, it will surely draw those external forces to send people to investigate! Our actions will become more troublesome!" Zhao Ping wore a dark face, already imagining how chaotic Zhong Tian City would become later.

In this situation, investigating who spread the news is no longer important; what matters is how to guard against those people finding out that Yun Qing possesses the Primordial Seed!

Li Feng pondered, then said: "My lord, why not strike first? Otherwise, dragging this out will eventually expose us."

"Don't I know? The three Great Vehicle Stage cultivators of the Grand Merchant Guild are vegetarians, but if we make even a single misstep, we may never have another chance." Zhao Ping wore a grim face.

Although he felt he shouldn't rush into action, while rebutting Li Feng he also weighed whether striking first could achieve success in one go.

But considering the Grand Merchant Guild has many experts, plus three Great Vehicle Stage cultivators, if the Holy Heart Alliance's top combatants were also mobilized, the entire Heavenly Spirit Realm would surely be shaken, and moreover, once they act, someone will surely guess that Yun Qing, who bears the Primordial Seed, is involved!

Thinking this, Zhao Ping hesitated and said: "Let's hold our forces for now; we have no need to rush. Although the news of the Primordial Seed is known in the other four regions, they ultimately cannot guess who possesses it. Those outsider cultivators will surely first investigate the various special zones, so we still have plenty of time."

"Li Feng, how's the matter of approaching Yun Qing going?"

"It's almost successful; now our people have gained the approval of the Grand Merchant Guild, but for safety we haven't contacted him yet. However, he has sent word, and soon we can establish a good relationship with Yun Qing, after which revealing the news of her father's death will not be difficult." Li Feng said.

"Good, just like that!"
