Chapter 1785: Big News
"What!"
Ika simply could not believe his ears; there had just been an attack by Nashadier's troops, but now, not long after, there was another attack by Nashadier's troops.
Could it be that Nashadier's troops were capable of bilocation?
Ika realized in an instant that the situation was dire; Nashadier was a man, not a god, so naturally, he could not bilocate.
But now that two of Nashadier's units had appeared, the previous intelligence must have been wrong.
Nashadier still had another unit, and he had been hiding this unit all along, the purpose being to make people feel numb, for only then could he catch them off guard.
Thinking of this, Ika deeply realized the terror of Nashadier.
However, this meant nothing to him.
The current situation was not yet dangerous enough to warrant a retreat.
No matter how you looked at it, Nashadier only possessed two units, at most no more than five hundred men.
Now that they had split up, the force attacking them would be even smaller.
And inside the command post, there were still over three hundred well-equipped soldiers.
It was more than enough to deal with Nashadier's troops.
Furthermore, with only this many men, Nashadier dared to attack entirely by relying on Cavalry, moving swiftly and emphasizing rapid warfare.
To break them in the shortest amount of time.
Even if these French Soldiers could not defeat Nashadier, they only needed to hold him off, and once the troops sent to annihilate him returned, his unit would not be able to escape either!
Ika calmed down instantly and asked, "How many men in total are in Nashadier's unit?"
The soldier replied, "Only a little over a hundred, but they are all Cavalry."
"How many Muskets?"
"Not many; most of the soldiers are still holding Long Spears in their hands, and only a very few soldiers have Muskets."
Ika smiled; it was just as he had expected, Nashadier's unit had even fewer troops, and their equipment was not refined enough.
"With such a small force, what is there to panic about?"
"Pass down my order: have all the French Soldiers currently in the command post engage in battle, attack with Muskets and Crossbows, and let Nashadier know the consequences of angering the French!" Ika hammered the table, venting his rage!
"Yes!" The soldier did not hesitate and immediately announced Ika's battle plan.
The French Soldiers intercepted Nashadier's unit at the front.
The number of Muskets was sufficient to arm these French Soldiers, and they adopted a line-formation combat method.
A group of soldiers lined up in a row and fired simultaneously.
This allowed the Muskets to have the largest and most concentrated attack range.
Nashadier was, after all, a veteran of the battlefield; he knew the advantages of such an attack, as concentrated Bullet fire left the opposing unit with nowhere to hide.
Such an attack, if it hit Nashadier's unit, would absolutely wipe them out entirely.
However, Nashadier had long since thought of a Method to deal with this type of attack.
"Scatter! Do not face these French Soldiers head-on; we will attack from the flanks!"
Nashadier's troops were all experts at horsemanship, and upon receiving the order, they acted immediately.
Over a hundred War Horses dispersed and charged toward the French troops.
After the first wave of fire, the French troops' Muskets needed to be reloaded quickly.
This gave Nashadier's unit an opportunity.
At the current distance, for the French troops, there was still a chance; they could finish reloading before the French troops could strike, and fire from a closer range.
This could ensure better accuracy.
And not only that, this was the French command post, and there were Cannon.
They had already pulled the heavy Cannon out of the warehouse and onto the battlefield.
With the suppression of the Cannon, they could absolutely deal a heavy blow to Nashadier's unit!
At this moment, Nashadier suddenly ordered: "Attack!"
Those Cavalry holding Long Spears immediately threw the Long Spears in their hands, knocking out the enemy's attack points.
This was something the French troops had not anticipated.
And just at this moment, Nashadier's unit had already arrived.
Cavalry fighting Infantry was a complete crushing victory.
Some French Soldiers had already finished loading gunpowder, and Bullets flew.
In this battle, the warriors beside Nashadier fell one after another.
But this did not affect the morale of Nashadier's unit; their attack only became more fierce.
Over three hundred French Soldiers fought against Nashadier's hundred-plus men.
In the end, this battle concluded with the defeat of the French Soldiers; seeing this battle result, Ika simply could not believe his eyes.
He had never expected such an outcome.
"General, let's go quickly; if we don't leave now, Nashadier will break in!"
This time, Ika did not speak any more big words; this battle had not even lasted ten minutes before Nashadier had already achieved victory.
Now, there was only one thought in Ika's mind: run, run quickly!
If he did not run now, he would have no chance at all.
Just as Ika was fleeing in a panic, the door to his office was violently kicked open.
He looked at the man covered in blood and filth standing at the door.
His face was filled with terror.
"Nashadier!"
Nashadier's mouth curled, the bloodstains on his face making his smile look exceptionally ferocious.
"Ika, we meet again; I once warned you, but you never take my warnings to heart."
Ika held an exquisite musket in his hand, but upon seeing Nashadier and recalling that dangerous scene from before,
he did not even have the courage to pull the trigger.
Because he knew that even if he pulled the trigger, the outcome would not change; he would still be captured by Nashadier.
He was not certain that a single bullet could take this man's life.
"What do you want to do?"
"Do you know that by doing this, you are declaring war on France? Once our French army arrives, you will face the punishment you deserve."
Nashadier chuckled, and his remaining subordinates rushed in to tie up the defenseless Ika.
Nashadier said indifferently: "I don't care about any of that; even if I let you go, the French will still not let me go."
"They will still continue to bully our Egypt."
"An oppressor like you must pay the price for this!"
"You French people cruelly murdered our Egyptian chieftains and forced our Egyptian tribes to conscript young men to fight for you."
"This is the crime you have committed."
"Admit it!"
Faced with such an interrogation, Ika's eyes widened; the French did indeed demand that those tribes conscript young men, but they had never murdered those chieftains.
At least, that was the situation as Ika knew it.
But in an instant, Ika understood what was going on.
He intended to frame Ika, to frame France.
To incite the hatred of the entire Egyptian tribe against France and make those Egyptian tribes rebel.
To plunge the French Colonial Zone into internal chaos!
"You..."
Before the words could finish, Nashadier struck Ika; to him, the truth did not matter.
Whether or not those chieftains were actually killed by the French was unimportant; what mattered was making the masses believe, making those tribes believe, that the chieftains they admired most
had now died at the hands of the French, and that was enough.
