Chapter 1946: The Attack Plan

~7 min read 1,217 words

On the second day, Nashadier, who had been waiting for Harris to attack, finally received information from Harris's troops.

This was not something their Information Department had uncovered; it was Harris who had taken the initiative to send a Messenger to tell him.

It was written on it: "Our army will attack tomorrow!"

Seeing the content of this letter, Nashadier, Henry, and Shawn were all stunned.

They completely failed to understand what was going on.

"Henry, what do you think?"

Henry pondered for a moment and said: "The Warriors of our Wahala Tribe never care about any schemes or tricks when fighting!"

"Perhaps Harris just wants to defeat us fair and square."

After thinking about it for a while, Nashadier nodded and said: "That makes sense."

"In that case, notify the troops to temporarily lift the alert status and let the soldiers rest."

"Wait until tomorrow to prepare for battle again."

Shawn was stunned for a moment and said: "Nashadier, what if this is a scheme of Harris's? Didn't you say that in war, nothing is too deceitful?"

"If we just believe the other party's words like this, and Harris's troops attack during this time, our troops will be very difficult to mobilize."

Nashadier glanced at Shawn and praised: "Shawn, you have improved recently; you can think of these things."

"Not bad, not bad."

He sat down, pointed at the map, and said again: "However, you forgot one point: if Harris wants to attack us, he must pass through these checkpoints."

"If we are not sure whether the enemy's troops will attack, having our troops wait like this continuously is just exhausting our combat effectiveness."

"And the other side is resting while we are exhausted."

"We only need to guard these few checkpoints, so there is no need for the entire army to be in a state of high alert."

"Next, listen to my orders."

"Let the main force rest, leave small units to monitor these checkpoints, and if any unusual movement is detected, send someone immediately."

"Doing this will not only allow our troops to get sufficient rest."

"It can also guard against Harris's attack in time."

After listening, Shawn nodded thoughtfully, having gained a certain understanding of Nashadier's arrangements.

No wonder he wanted to do this.

After thinking this through.

Shawn said nothing more, and they followed Nashadier's arrangements.

Under Nashadier's orders, their Resistance Army troops had a rare day of rest.

And at these few checkpoints, sufficient troops were left behind to maintain a high state of alert, keeping a constant watch for sneak attacks by Harris's troops.

Meanwhile, on the side of Harris's troops.

The time had already reached night; after tonight, it would be their agreed-upon attack time.

If there was any time period most suitable for a surprise attack, it would be tonight.

But Harris still had no intention of launching a surprise attack.

Their troops were currently resting.

The French, Smith, who had been sent to supervise the army, asked: "Harris, have you forgotten the mission we entrusted to you?"

"We want you to crush Nashadier's troops, and now is the best time to attack."

Harris turned his head to look at Smith, who was giving him orders, and said coldly: "I am cooperating with you French, and I have promised you to crush Nashadier, but that does not mean you can make me abandon the creed of a Warrior!"

Smith laughed out loud upon hearing these words.

He looked at Smith as if he were looking at a ridiculous person.

"Are you like the leader of the Wahala?"

"You witnessed that duel, too; do you also want to end up like that?"

Harris's expression turned cold, and he shoved

Smith.

Smith looked at him coldly.

Harris's icy voice rang out: "I will crush Nashadier on the open battlefield and turn his heroic deeds into a pile of dog shit that everyone avoids."

Smith gave a cold laugh: "Then I'll wait for your good news."

……

A night passed, and all was quiet.

Just as he had said, Harris did not launch any attack on Nashadier.

Nashadier laughed; Harris was truly a Warrior of the Wahala Tribe, maintaining a creed of benevolence and righteousness even in such a war.

"Sigh..." Nashadier sighed, but as for the coming battle.

Nashadier would not be like Harris, keeping a promise of fair combat.

Their Resistance Army's strength was not as great as Harris's troops to begin with; how could the battlefield be a traditional European turn-based fight?

As the first rays of sunlight today spilled onto the earth, Nashadier said without a hint of emotion: "Begin."

His adjutant stepped back, following Nashadier's plan.

Their Resistance Army immediately took action; by the time dawn broke, their troops had already set an ambush on the only path Harris's troops could take.

This time, Nashadier used Landmines.

Their troops were nearly half the size of Harris's troops.

To narrow this disparity in strength, Nashadier adopted the tactic of landmine warfare to split their troops.

And at this moment, Harris's troops were setting out on their journey.

Until now, he still thought Nashadier would fight him in a fair and square battle.

But when his troops marched to the battlefield, they did not discover a single unit of Nashadier's forces.

In the distance, a massive piece of cloth was erected, with their propaganda slogan written on it in a color like fresh blood.

The general meaning was to tell Harris to withdraw his troops, submit, and not continue advancing.

But how could Harris listen to such advice?

"Kill! Kill this dog traitor Nashadier who helps the colonists!"

Following Harris's order, their troops immediately launched an attack.

Nashadier saw all of this through a Telescope, sighed, and said, "Begin."

As his voice fell, the Harris troops who had already entered the minefield stepped on Landmines that exploded instantly.

The dust and smoke kicked up by the explosions obscured the vision of the Harris troops.

Just at this moment, on the previously deserted battlefield, a large group of people holding Muskets appeared in the distance from the Harris troops.

These people were all from the Resistance Army.

"Fire!"

The Muskets and Cannons brought by Nashadier's troops fired in unison!

The Harris troops, their vision obscured by the Landmine explosions, were even more panicked; they could only hear the sounds of Muskets and Cannons but could not determine from which direction they were coming.

Under this wave of Cannon attacks, Harris's troops were exceptionally panicked.

But Harris, who had encountered the ambush, did not have a panicked expression at all.

He ordered in a deep voice: "Defensive formation!"

The messenger immediately relayed Harris's order.

Upon hearing Harris's order, the previously panicked troops gradually steadied themselves and formed the defensive formation Harris had spoken of.

The Shield Infantry used their heavy Shields to block the Musket Bullets.

The Muskets of Nashadier's troops were French products, far inferior in power to the Muskets of the Longyan Army, so at this distance, they could not penetrate these Shields at all.

The only long-range attack capable of causing damage was the Cannons, but Nashadier's troops did not have many Cannonballs.
