Chapter 150: What Exactly Do You Want to Say

~7 min read 1,338 words

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin raised her eyebrows slightly, a barely perceptible smile curling her lips; her voice was light and casual, yet carried an indescribable power:

"Anger is an emotion, but it should not be shown on our faces, nor should it dictate our actions."

Two maids stood aside, their eyes sparkling with little points of light at her words; their mistress always managed to express the deepest truths with the simplest words. They exchanged a smile, thinking in their hearts: Mistress's words are so profound, so reasonable.

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin's gaze pierced through the courtyard, as if traveling through time and space back to a distant childhood.

Back then, she was still an innocent little girl, full of curiosity and longing for the world.

Whenever something went wrong, she could not help but lose her temper, and at such times, her father and mother would always patiently teach her:

"No matter when, you must remain calm to see the truth clearly."

These words were like a seed, deeply planted in Seeing Jun Jun Zijin's heart.

As time passed, that seed gradually took root and sprouted, growing into a towering tree that sheltered her from wind and rain and guided her direction.

She learned to remain calm when facing difficulties, learned to seek the truth amidst turmoil, and above all, learned to treat every detail of life with a peaceful heart.

Memories swept like a gentle breeze across Seeing Jun Jun Zijin's heart.

She blinked, as if seeing herself from back then, the girl who, under her parents' teachings, had step by step grown into a steady, calm woman.

Now, she could bury the emotion of anger deep within her heart, preventing it from affecting her judgment and actions.

The sunset's afterglow bathed the mansion, dyeing the bluestone path in the courtyard a faint gold. A few wisps of breeze blew past, carrying the scent of plum blossoms from a distant garden.

Just as they returned to the mansion, Fei Yan suddenly appeared from nowhere, her expression somewhat Solemn:

"Mistress, that person went to Bi Bo Court again today. I saw their face; it matches your prediction exactly. It is indeed him."

A flash of cold light crossed Seeing Jun Jun Zijin's eyes; she said in a deep voice:

"His secrets go far beyond what we know. Just follow my previous orders; remember not to act rashly, lest you startle the snake."

Fei Yan accepted the order and left. Seeing Jun Jun Zijin stood in the courtyard, her brows slightly furrowed.

Jun Chengcai stepped closer, his face bearing a mix of curiosity and unease:

"Master, who exactly is that person? Why is he so mysterious?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin intended to reach out and pat his head, only to realize Jun Chengcai had grown much taller; her hand hovered in midair, changing to a pat on the back of his head instead:

"Children shouldn't meddle in too much; learning your skills properly is the real business."

Hearing this, Jun Chengcai refused to accept it:

"Jun Jun Zijin, cut that act. I warn you, take your paws off. If I'm a child, you're two years younger than me; on what grounds do you speak to me like that?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin pouted, speaking with feigned seriousness:

"Once a master, always a father. I am your master; a master patting a disciple's head is only natural."

Jun Chengcai was momentarily speechless, secretly cursing in his heart:

That damn girl, as soon as she talks about serious matters, she uses her status as master to pressure him; there's truly no way to have a conversation with her.

He sighed helplessly and turned to leave.

After taking two steps, Jun Chengcai suddenly turned back, a flash of cunning crossing his eyes:

"Master, didn't you say you would teach me the Golden Needle Acupoint Opening technique? Why has there been no movement?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin was stunned, then laughed, a hint of mockery in her eyes:

"You certainly know how to pick your timing. However, that technique cannot be learned just anyone; it depends on whether you have the aptitude."

Jun Chengcai scoffed, his lips curling in defiance: "I learned the wound suturing technique you taught in half an hour; I suppose Golden Needle Acupoint Opening shouldn't be hard either. Just say it, are you afraid I'll learn it and steal your spotlight?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin rolled her eyes at him:

"Wound suturing is the most basic surgical procedure, okay. As for Golden Needle Acupoint Opening, memorize the human acupoint diagram I gave you last time before you say another word."

Just then, Fei Ying delivered a secret letter from Quan Quan Aoyu. The letter stated that Quan Quan Aoyu would depart for the capital immediately and mysteriously hinted he had a big surprise for her.

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin held the letter, her lips involuntarily curving upward.

Counting the days, by the time he returns, it will be just right to celebrate the New Year together.

Thinking of this, a hint of anticipation flashed in her eyes, and her smile deepened further.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, smiling like such a lovesick fool; what does the letter say?"

Startled by the voice, Seeing Jun Jun Zijin turned around to find Jun Chengcai standing behind her at some point, stretching his neck to peek at the letter.

"What are you doing!" Seeing Jun Jun Zijin quickly hid the letter behind her back, her tone carrying a hint of anger:

"Hurry up and leave!"

Jun Chengcai pouted, a flash of cunning crossing his eyes. He crossed his arms and asked in a pretentious tone:

"I'm just concerned about my brother-in-law. When is he coming back?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin glared at him.

"None of your business! Go do whatever you need to do!"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin's attitude only piqued Jun Chengcai's interest:

"Oh, so nervous? Did you write something unspeakable?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin made as if to strike him, feigning anger:

"Jun Chengcai, are you asking for a beating?"

Seeing Jun Jun Zijin smiling broadly upon receiving Quan Quan Aoyu's letter made Jun Chengcai happy too.

But he still refused to back down; smiling, he backed away:

"Hmph, I'm leaving now, but you'd better be careful not to let your brother-in-law see you acting so lovesick when he returns; you'll make everyone laugh their teeth off."

"Jun Chengcai, you're asking for it!" Seeing Jun Jun Zijin threw a punch, though a hint of amusement lingered in her eyes.

Seeing her little expression, Jun Chengcai grew even more smug; he laughed loudly as he ran away, shouting as he went:

"No more talking, I'm off. I need to prepare; tonight I'm going to the Second House to find some fun."

Watching his retreating figure, Seeing Jun Jun Zijin shook her head helplessly, yet felt a sense of relief in her heart.

Jun Chengcai had just turned the corridor when he ran straight into Jun Jun Yiyi.

He frowned, inwardly cursing his bad luck, yet forced a polite smile onto his face and spoke first:

"Where is sister off to?"

Seeing Jun Jun Yiyi had just come from the direction of Jun Jun Zijin's courtyard, Jun Jun Yiyi was seething with hatred; she let out a cold sneer, her face dark and gloomy, and spoke in a sarcastic tone:

"Sister? I think you have no idea who your real sister is."

Jun Chengcai glanced at her face, nearly distorted with rage, and unwilling to get entangled at this moment, simply tossed out a bland remark: "Farewell," before turning to leave.

Jun Jun Yiyi stamped her foot in fury and, staring at his retreating back, screamed hysterically:

"Jun Chengcai, how can you be so biased? Do not forget, we are blood siblings."

Jun Chengcai's steps halted; he turned back to look at her. Her face was twisted by anger, yet a trace of unwillingness and despair flashed in her eyes.

"What exactly do you want to say?"

He asked in a deep voice.
