Chapter 21: Just Tell Me, Are the Tapu Wild or Not!
"Recently, Gardevoir's strength has progressed very quickly; I think it won't be long before it becomes one of my main forces."
Caitlin's smile was very sweet; she was very satisfied with herself, who grew stronger every day.
"That would be best of all. By the way, Caitlin, is your handheld team full?"
Mamon asked Caitlin.
Generally, a handheld team defaults to six Pokémon; this is the upper limit a normal trainer carries with them.
"No."
Caitlin shook her head.
Her current handheld actually totals only five: Metagross, Alakazam, Gothitelle, Gardevoir, and the Mimikyu Mamon gave her.
"If there is Psychic Terrain, it provides a huge boost for Psychic-type teams. If necessary, Caitlin, you can raise an Eldegoss first."
Mamon gave his own suggestion.
Why? Because the Eldegoss line has the Ability Psychic Surge; as soon as they enter the field, they can activate Psychic Terrain.
This is a field-control Ability; for Psychic-type Pokémon, Eldegoss is comparable to the effect of Primal Groudon on Fire-type Pokémon, or Primal Kyogre on Rain teams.
It's just not as strictly necessary as those two weather teams.
"Eldegoss?"
Caitlin fell into deep thought.
"Exactly. Only two Pokémon possess the Ability Psychic Surge; one of them is Eldegoss," Mamon said slowly.
"I see, I understand." Caitlin resumed her faint smile.
"Then what about the other Pokémon that possesses this Ability?"
Caitlin couldn't help but be curious; why did he only mention Eldegoss?
"As for the other one, Caitlin, you cannot catch it right now."
Mamon chuckled lightly.
Caitlin tilted her head slightly, a question mark rising above her head.
"Actually, it's quite coincidental; it dwells in the Alola region, on Akala Island. The Island Guardian Tapu Lele is the one with the Psychic Surge Ability."
Mamon didn't beat around the bush; he spoke directly.
"Tapu Lele is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon; it suits you very well."
"A Legendary... Island Guardian."
Caitlin understood; the Alola region has had legends of Island Guardians since ancient times.
No, it's better to say they aren't even 'legendary stories' anymore, because the four Tapu actually appear before the people of Alola in reality.
Even the customs preserved on Alola's four islands to this day—the so-called Island Kings and Island Queens—are actually chosen by the four Tapu!
From this, one can see how significant the Island Guardians, the Tapu, are in the Alola region.
Let alone that Caitlin's current strength probably makes it impossible to catch Tapu Lele; even if she could catch it, if she really did catch Tapu Lele...
Akala Island in Alola would absolutely 'explode'!
Although the Alola region appears to be developing toward modernization, that region has preserved too many traditional thoughts and customs.
The significance of the Tapu is too heavy for the locals of the four islands.
"I'm afraid it will be very difficult; the Island Queen over there won't agree either."
Caitlin shook her head; she was still very tempted, after all, for her who specializes in Psychic types.
A Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon, and one with the Psychic Surge Ability; it is simply too compatible!
But...
"We catching Pokémon ourselves, what does that have to do with her, Lillie? Do we need her permission?" Mamon, however, was contemptuous.
Isn't this a joke?
Mamon knew the Alola region placed extreme importance on the Tapu, but putting aside the fact that Team Rocket doesn't need others to interfere in their operations...
Just tell me, are the Tapu wild or not!
Caitlin pressed her lips together, smiling without speaking; her beautiful eyes reflected Mamon's profile.
"Even from the perspective of the League's legal regulations, our catching of the Tapu is completely reasonable and legal.
If they deliberately interfere during our catching process, or forcibly demand we release it afterward, we can even sue them at the League; the reason is absolutely on our side."
Mamon sneered as he spoke. The Alola region's spiritual totems?
Sorry, they are wild!
And as long as they are wild Pokémon, let alone the Tapu, according to the law, even the Creator God Llama, I damn well can go challenge and catch it.
Don't ask if I can beat the Llama; anyway, the logic is just that logic; I have the right to catch it!
As long as it is a wild, ownerless Pokémon, a trainer can catch it!
Caitlin couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle lightly; no matter what, the words 'sue them at the League' popping out of Mamon's mouth were simply very interesting.
"So Caitlin, you don't need to worry at all; you just need to get stronger. When your strength is sufficient to catch Tapu Lele, I will accompany you to Akala Island for a walk."
"If they can reason, that's fine; if they persist in pestering us, we don't need to be polite to them."
Mamon's words were light as wind and clouds; obviously, he didn't put those Island Kings and Island Queens in his eyes at all.
They are just rotten fish and shrimp; do they think Team Rocket is vegetarian?
"Mm~"
Caitlin's expression softened; her beautiful eyes shimmered with soul-stirring brilliance.
Mamon...
And at this moment, inside the entertainment city.
Guzma slapped his own face; since early morning, his face was about to cramp from smiling.
No choice; according to what the assistant told him, today is his "great joy day," so he must smile more.
"Damn it, once this period passes, I must apply to the Young Master to change my post."
Guzma bared his teeth and grimaced, feeling his facial muscles stiffen.
And just then.
"Guzma."
"Shit!"
Guzma was startled by the voice suddenly coming from behind him and nearly reacted by kicking out.
Turning his head, he saw it was none other than Kukui, the one he couldn't stand.
"Kukui! What the hell! Why the fuck did you suddenly run behind me? Don't you know that scaring people can scare them to death?"
Guzma cursed and grumbled, showing no courtesy at all.
"Sorry, but I've already called your name many times." Kukui helplessly shrugged.
"Guzma, why did you suddenly disband the Skull Gang? And..."
"What the hell does it matter to you whether I disband the Skull Gang or not? You're sick." Guzma replied impatiently and turned to leave.
"Don't rush, Guzma, I'm not here to argue with you."
"Don't touch Laozi! Get your hooves off me! Get off right now! This outfit is very expensive, you bastard! Kukui, I'm warning you, if you keep pestering me, I won't be polite!"
"I'm just asking one question, Guzma, did someone approach you? I asked a friend, and originally this entertainment city..."
Kukui did not let go of Guzma's sleeve.
"Shit!! Security! Where's security! Are your eyes blind? Hurry over and kick this troublemaker out!"
Guzma flew into a rage, and his huge voice successfully summoned two security guards carrying electric batons from afar.
Seeing the situation was unfavorable, Kukui immediately made a run for it.
"Damn it! From now on, put up a sign outside: Kukui and dogs are not allowed in my entertainment city! Did you hear me!"
Guzma's face still looked very bad; he straightened his clothes, his anger not yet subsided.
"Understood."
"Hmph!"
Guzma walked toward his office. Damn that son of a bitch Kukui; how is his dog nose so sharp? I must report this to the Young Master.
Guzma's face was grim.
And just then, Guzma's phone rang. Guzma, looking irritable, took it out and his brows instantly furrowed.
A call from Lusamine!
