Chapter 407: Discussion

Since Song Qingming brought the Foundation Establishment Pill back from the Merit Pavilion of the Xiaoyao Sect three years ago, he had never made this matter public in the clan. The reason why he didn't take the Foundation Establishment Pill out directly was because he hadn't decided who to give it to.

Although Song Qingming had also paid attention to observing several suitable people among the younger generation of the family in these years, he still hadn't found the most suitable one in his heart. After thinking for a long time, Song Qingming decided to relax the decision-making power and listen to the opinions of others in the clan before making the final decision.

Two days later, the council hall of the Song family on Funiu Mountain was already full of many important personnel of the Song family.

After learning that the family needed to discuss the ownership of a Foundation Establishment Pill this time, except for Song Qingwan, who was busy in Qinghe Market and couldn't get away, the remaining elders of the Song family had all arrived here.

Sitting at the head of the table directly in front were the two Foundation Establishment cultivators, Song Qingming and Song Qingyu. Below them, seated in order, were the eldest Enforcement Elder, Thirteenth Uncle Song Zhangxiong; the Administrative Elder who had managed the family for many years, Song Qingshi; the Merit Elder in charge of the Hidden Gold Pavilion, Song Qingsi; the Spirit Plant Elder, Song Qinghe; and the family's Outer Sect Elder, Shi Chun.

Seeing that everyone had arrived, Song Qingming announced the start of this family council and took the lead in saying, "Summoning everyone here today is because there are two things that are very important to the family that I want to discuss with you all.

The first thing, I think everyone already knew when you came, is that some time ago I used the family's merit points to exchange for a Foundation Establishment Pill from the Merit Pavilion of the Xiaoyao Sect. But I haven't decided which cultivator in the family to give this item to. I hope everyone can express your views and discuss who to give the Foundation Establishment Pill to."

After Song Qingming finished speaking, Administrative Elder Song Qingshi took over the conversation and continued: "Currently, there are only three people in the family who are most suitable for using a Foundation Establishment Pill to reach Foundation Establishment: Xintang, Xinhe, and Yuanli."

Xintang's cultivation base has reached the ninth layer of Qi Refining for many years, and Xinhe's cultivation base is now not far from the ninth layer of Qi Refining. Both of them can prepare for Foundation Establishment in these few years. Although Yuanli's spirit root is more suitable, his cultivation base has just reached the fourth layer of Qi Refining. If we wait for him to establish a foundation, it will take another ten or twenty years."

As soon as the voice fell, the thirteenth uncle Song Zhangxiong, who was already white-bearded and white-haired, suddenly stood up and said, "Although the Foundation Establishment Pill was exchanged by the family's merit points, the family can develop to the present mainly because of the contributions made by Qingming and Qingyu to the family.

If Qingming has already made a decision in his heart and directly decided the ownership of this Foundation Establishment Pill, I won't say anything more today. But since Qingming is now willing to listen to our opinions, I have to stand up and say a fair word."

"Thirteenth Uncle, don't be anxious, sit down and speak if you have anything to say."

Song Zhangxiong nodded to Song Qingming and sat down again, then said slowly, "The reason why my family can develop to the present and be so stable is also because most cultivators in the clan can get a fair treatment and are willing to contribute to the family together.

Since there is only one Foundation Establishment Pill and one must be selected, then we must prioritize the one who has made greater contributions to the family. Otherwise, if the family only looks at the spirit root to decide who to support, and the younger generation with ordinary spirit roots in the clan knows this, who will be willing to continue to work hard for the family?"

Song Zhangxiong said this directly, which in plain terms meant that he wanted to give the Foundation Establishment Pill to Song Xintang.

For so many years, Song Xintang had basically been following Song Zhangxiong, and the family law enforcement team was basically led by him. Just the beasts that died under Song Xintang's knife were several dozen. Regarding the contributions made to the family, needless to say, everyone present knew that Song Xintang must have made more than the other two.

Although Song Xinhu, who was of the same generation as him, also performed some family tasks and made some contributions, he was still far behind Xintang. First, Xintang was older than Xinhu, and second, being in the law enforcement team, Xintang could easily earn the merit points he wanted whether it was performing tasks to earn family merit points or going out to hunt beasts.

Hearing Song Zhangxiong say this, several family elders present soon understood his intention and nodded, and everyone was willing to give some face to this family elder who had high prestige in the clan and was also the oldest.

"Thirteenth Uncle is right. No matter who the Foundation Establishment Pill is given to, the contribution to the family must be considered. However, Xinhe and Yuanli are after all much younger than Xintang. Just looking at the contributions made to the family now is somewhat unfair to them.

Older cultivators generally have more advantages in family contributions. If this continues, what if the cultivators with good spirit roots in the family are buried like this? This is not a good thing for the future development of the family!"

Song Qingshi looked at Song Qingsi who was speaking and nodded, then said, "Fourteenth sister is also right. Although family contributions are important, the level of a cultivator's spirit root is also very critical for whether Foundation Establishment can succeed. We must all consider these. If you ask me, I think both Xinhe and Xintang are actually very good, very loyal to the family, and willing to make contributions to the family.

However, if it were my opinion, I still think it is better to leave the Foundation Establishment Pill to Yuanli. His spirit root talent is even better than Qingyu's. Leaving the Foundation Establishment Pill to him, the certainty of success is definitely the highest. After all, this Foundation Establishment Pill is also exchanged by the merit points accumulated by the blood of many cultivators and predecessors of the family. We must try our best to exert its due maximum contribution to cultivate a Foundation Establishment cultivator for the family, so that he can give back to the family in the future."

"I am not saying that I only look at family contributions and ignore their spirit roots. But now that the family has developed for so many years, it is not easy. We should also let all cultivators in the clan have a hope. Although the hope of Foundation Establishment for four-spirit root cultivators is lower, it is not without certainty. Isn't Qingming also successful in Foundation Establishment at once?"

As Song Zhangxiong said this, Song Qingshi looked up at Song Qingming sitting in the primary seat, then could only sigh with a smile and didn't speak again, and the scene suddenly became quiet.

Seeing that no one was speaking, Song Qingming turned his head to look at Song Qinghe and Shi Chun who had not expressed their opinions and said, "What are your two opinions?"

"Clan leader, I agree with Thirteenth Uncle's idea. The family already has two Foundation Establishment cultivators now, so there is no urgent need to cultivate new Foundation Establishment cultivators. Although the certainty of giving the Foundation Establishment Pill to Xintang is lower, there is still hope for success. It can also set an example for others, proving that the family does not only look at spirit root talent, but can also treat every cultivator fairly. This will definitely be good for the future development of the family."

Shi Chun also nodded with a smile and said, "I also agree with Fellow Daoist Qinghe."
