Chapter 51: Killing the Demonic Beast

Seeing that the entrance to its cave dwelling had been blown into a mess, this high-tier Flame Rat was suddenly furious. Its red fur stood up against the wind, waving like flames in the wind.

Feng Laogui saw that the Flame Rat had come out, so he immediately commanded the puppet to retreat, and the man and the beast slowly retreated backward.

The Flame Rat opened its small mouth, and a powerful fire light sprayed toward Feng Laogui. Feng Laogui saw this and was not panicked. He had dealt with this demonic beast several times and was already very familiar with its divine abilities.

Feng Laogui saw the fire coming, his right hand hurriedly pinched a spell, and he unhurriedly released a water wall to block this blaze. After blocking the fire, he pasted a Speed Talisman on his body, accelerated his speed, and retreated toward the rear.

The Flame Rat saw this hateful human cultivator who had harassed its cave dwelling many times recently and wanted to escape again, and jumped over to chase it very angrily. The high-tier Flame Rat's speed was also extremely fast, and it soon shortened the distance with Feng Laogui, spraying more than a dozen fire lights along the way, making Feng Laogui somewhat unable to cope.

Feng Laogui saw that the Flame Rat was far away from the cave entrance, so he hurriedly shouted toward the distance: "Fellow Daoist Song, quickly block the demonic beast's retreat."

Previously, when that white tiger puppet beast first took action, Song Qingming had already taken advantage of the chaos to touch the side of the Flame Rat's cave dwelling. Seeing Feng Laogui lure the Flame Rat away, Song Qingming soon appeared and blocked it, blocking the rear of the Flame Rat and cutting off its retreat.

He summoned the magic treasure Blazing Sun Sword and Black Gold Shield with both hands. Facing a high-tier demonic beast, he could not afford a trace of slack, and he had to use all his strength as soon as he took action.

These two magic treasures had been refined by him for many years, and now they were very handy to use. The Blazing Sun Sword released a fire light and hit the tail of the Flame Rat, making its red-black tail burn.

The Flame Rat felt its tail being attacked, turned around and shook, and the fire burning on its tail was instantly extinguished. It was originally a fire-attribute demonic beast, so naturally, it was not afraid of fire attacks. Song Qingming's attack did not cause any damage to it.

However, Song Qingming's attack still delayed its attack on Feng Laogui. Jia Sixing, who was hiding in the back, took this opportunity to support Feng Laogui, and the three surrounded this Flame Rat from front and back.

Looking at the two people who suddenly appeared, the Flame Rat did not show panic, but instead revealed the sharp fine teeth in its mouth and became very manic.

After confronting the three for a while, the Flame Rat soon launched an attack again. I saw a burst of flames flowing on its body, and its squeaking mouth spat out a black fire cloud. After the fire cloud floated in the air for a while, it turned into a black mist five or six feet in size and flew rapidly toward Feng Laogui and the other.

"Be careful, this is the Flame Rat's unique spell, 'Smoke and Fire Miasma'." Feng Laogui shouted to Jia Sixing beside him. He had long known about this spell, and on the road here, he had already told Song Qingming and the other two about the characteristics of the Flame Rat and how to deal with it.

The most difficult spell to deal with on the Flame Rat was this "Smoke and Fire Miasma" spell. Once covered by the Smoke and Fire Miasma, the cultivator would soon be unable to even figure out the direction in the smoke. The Smoke and Fire Miasma also contained the fire poison that the Flame Rat had refined in its body for many years. If one could not get out of trouble for a long time, the cultivator's eyes might be poisoned blind by this smoke.

Seeing the black fire cloud coming, Feng Laogui and the other didn't dare to be careless. Jia Sixing immediately sacrificed a top-grade Gale Talisman that had been prepared long ago.

A tornado rose from the ground, instantly rolling away all the black fire clouds above the heads of the two.

Wherever the gale passed, even the gravel on the ground was swept away, revealing the bare mountain body.

A first-tier top-grade spirit talisman cost at least ten spirit stones. To deal with this Flame Rat, Feng Laogui specifically found Captain Lu Yunfei to exchange for this top-grade spirit talisman and handed it to Jia Sixing. Taking advantage of the Flame Rat releasing the Smoke and Fire Miasma in its body, Jia Sixing seized this good opportunity and sacrificed this top-grade spirit talisman, blowing away the Flame Rat's Smoke and Fire Miasma.

Smoke and Fire Miasma was the natal spell that the Flame Rat had refined in its body for many years. If it wanted to use it again, this Flame Rat wouldn't be able to use it again without three or five years of cultivation and refining.

Without this spell, the Flame Rat's divine abilities instantly dropped by 20% or 30%, and it suddenly began to panic, seeing that the situation was not good and wanting to escape back into the cave.

As soon as it turned its head, it happened to hit Song Qingming's Black Gold Shield. Song Qingming held the shield with his right hand and held the Flame Rat's hard head tightly, and released the Blazing Sun Sword with his left hand to slash at the Flame Rat's neck. Unexpectedly, the Flame Rat stretched out the iron claws on its forelimbs and hooked his flying sword.

Song Qingming wanted to take back the flying sword, but the flying sword instantly left his hand and was slapped to the ground by the Flame Rat, bringing Song Qingming's left hand to feel numb in the tiger's mouth, and he was shaken back several steps by the Flame Rat.

Even if a high-tier demonic beast didn't use spells, its flesh was equally very hard. If Song Qingming hadn't practiced the Jade Profound Scripture and his magic power was thicker than ordinary mid-stage Qi Refining cultivators, he would have been pushed back by the Flame Rat at this moment, letting it escape back into the cave.

Once this demonic beast was allowed to escape into the cave, even if the three joined forces, the cave was small and it was not easy to display divine abilities. The Flame Rat relied on the terrain, and even if it couldn't defeat them, it could easily escape. If it really became like this, then the three of them would have worked in vain for half a day.

Just when Song Qingming was somewhat difficult to cope with, Feng Laogui and Jia Sixing also sacrificed the magic treasures in their hands and launched an attack on the Flame Rat.

Jia Sixing seemed to have practiced a set of extraordinary footwork. I saw him as light as a swallow, his feet seemed to step on a burst of purple mist, appearing around the Flame Rat like a ghost, holding two short blades more than half a foot long in his hands, constantly leaving bloodstains on the Flame Rat's body.

Every time the Flame Rat wanted to fight back, it was dodged by his agile figure, making it spray flames into the air constantly.

Although Jia Sixing's attack didn't bring much damage to the Flame Rat, it always attracted a large part of its attention.

The person mainly responsible for the attack among the three was still Feng Laogui. With the containment of Song Qingming and Jia Sixing, Feng Laogui's top-grade golden flying sword soon cut off one of the Flame Rat's tails, and his white tiger puppet also began to release bursts of thunder light constantly, making the Flame Rat tremble constantly.

Feng Laogui practiced metal-attribute techniques, and his attack means were second only to the rare thunder-attribute techniques. His cultivation had long reached the peak of the sixth layer of Qi Refining, and his magic power was deeper than Song Qingming and Jia Sixing.

The top-grade flying sword sacrificed was also quite sharp, plus the help of the white tiger puppet, even if he faced the Flame Rat alone several times before, although he couldn't defeat this demonic beast, he had retreated completely.

This time with the help of Song Qingming and the other, and breaking the Flame Rat's most powerful Smoke and Fire Miasma divine ability, the Flame Rat was soon beaten by him to retreat repeatedly, and wanting to escape was also entangled by Song Qingming and the other two.

After two sticks of incense of fierce fighting, after a squeaking mournful cry, Feng Laogui cut off the Flame Rat's head neatly, and the three also successfully ended this battle.

After killing the Flame Rat, Feng Laogui looked at the Flame Rat's corpse somewhat reluctantly, then smiled and said: "Haha, finally solved this demonic thing. This old man will go and take the White Jade Flower, and this place will be left to you two fellow Daoists."
