He was the universe. An omnipotent and omniscient being who felt unrelenting boredom. In his quest to finally entertain himself, he cut off his knowledge of time, only for it to be awoken when he required it once more. Anything and everything he had done would always be spoilt by his own overwhelming power. He could create life but wouldn’t even have a chance to observe it before he knew how it ended for them.

Cutting off his access to knowledge, he began his first experiment. He created for himself a son, giving him part of his power. He wanted to see how something with immense power would act from birth without knowledge of all time. He looked at his son. A purple orb that seemed to glow brighter than himself. He named him Khors.

His son spent millennia learning and understanding his own power. He grew wise with age and finally came to his father with an idea. To create something new. One that did not wield their power. He wished to know how such a thing could live.

So Sol did that. He created a daughter, giving part of his power, and populated her with a new creation. On his first attempt, he created a race that lacked emotion. He remembered how he felt in the past when plagued with emotion and so got rid of them. At first, it seemed fine. They all lived in harmony. But quickly it dissolved. A lack of emotion. A lack of motivation saw the people of this world die out. They refused to procreate not seeing a reason. They had no goal to work too. Much like its people, his daughter had been created emotionless, a test to see how a God would act without them. She chose to slowly wither away with her creation, creating the first moon.

On his second attempt, his son decided that emotion was necessary. So Sol hearing this tried again. He created a second daughter, once more giving a part of his power, and populated her surface. This time he gave them all the ability to feel emotion but left out all those that he considered negative. A world free of rage, anger, sadness, and anything he considered bad. The world was full of life, but quickly bored Sol. He saw it as a pointless existence. It didn’t feel like true existence without suffering. He saw how his daughter created a utopia for all those living on her surface. He watched this with his son for years.

But once Khors was distracted, Sol acted. He gave his daughter the entirety of his emotions during those years of isolation. He watched as her utopia fell into chaos as she struggled to understand what was given to her. He watched as its people smiled as they starved unable to feel anything else. He watched as the world slowly became barren and his daughter’s very soul was consumed by the dark emotions she had never felt before.

Khors was quick to notice but failed to stop anything. He could only watch as his sister went insane and her beloved inhabitants died. He saw a side to his father he never knew existed. He watched as he observed the entire thing with a callousness. Sentencing his own daughter to endless torture because she was subpar to him. Forcing her to live with emotions she could never comprehend but would always suffer from.

He watched as his sister’s surface became a cold rock. Finally, Sol moved on to the third experiment. He created his daughter Gaia. A being who felt both good and bad. He watched as her surface was covered in lush fields and forests filled with poisonous plants. Gentle breezes and raging storms. Endless fields and unclimbable mountains.

A world that was both supportive and harsh. He then created its people. Humans. A being that was imperfect. Neither good nor bad. Weak but smart. Khors saw this new creation with intrigue. It was perfect for him. He saw his sister and believed her to be the perfect world. He loved his past sisters but they were nothing compared to Gaia. He looked at the life on it and couldn’t help but become enamored. He shrunk himself and took on human form to live amongst them.

Khors saw the Humans as his own child. Something that wasn’t like the Gods but nothing like those of the past. He saw how a man helped a starving child despite being poor himself. He saw how a killer took lives for nothing but enjoyment. He saw wars start to end a tyrant. He saw wars start for one man’s power. He lived amongst them, suffering in their pain and enjoying their happiness. He watched as they tried to imitate God’s power. It was an amazing sight.

But he saw that bright light loom above, next to it the shells of his sisters. Its cold gaze watching humanity like another failed experiment. Khors couldn’t watch it again. He couldn’t see another sister be lost. He couldn’t watch what he considered his children to die. He had to act. He placed his hand on Gaia’s body and spoke to her.

"Father is bored," Khors spoke in a mystical voice.

’Iknow.’Her voice pierced through his mind talking directly to him,’Life is full of the good and bad. Father’s choice is also part of this.’

"Please, Gaia." Khors heard the resignation in her voice to accept whatever Sol had done. She felt it was only right. She had already experienced his Good. Made her a God. Gave her a family. Now she had to experience the bad. "I don’t want to lose another."

Khors begged but got no response in return. Seeing this he flew away to his second sister’s body. It was a warped world. He could feel the dread linger in the air as the insane screams of his sister flooded his mind upon contact. She was in constant pain and torment. The bodies of her beloved inhabitants had long disappeared, all traces of them disappearing.

"Anahit," Khors said softly. He rested his hand on her surface as a purple smoke ran along his arm rushing into his body. He gritted his teeth and endured, trying to ease a tiny fraction of his sister’s pain.

’Brother’It was a moment of clarity before the pain took over once more and drowned Khors in the endless screams of agony once more.

"Forgive me, sister, for I can not help you." It was a weak voice. In front of him, a green bud popped out of the ground quickly withering away. It brought a smile to his face as he took his hand away the endless screams disappearing. He left heading for his first Sister.

"Morana," Khors spoke softly once more. It was an eerie silence as he held his hand down on the cold surface,

’Hello Khors.’Her flat voice spoke directly into his mind.’What do you want.’

"Help. I wish to stop father." Khors said bluntly. He knew that his sister would only understand if he spoke like this.

’Okay.’It was all she said before cutting contact with him. Khors knew that she only did it because he asked first. Morana had no feelings for anything. She simply just did what was told. She had no motivation or ambition. Simply just existing.

Khors planned and finally when he saw his father about to act he struck. Gaia watched as her brother and sisters attacked their father. He watched as Morana used all her strength without regard, dimming their father’s light. She watched as Anahit weaponized the emotion Sol enforced on her and stuck, dimming his light.

Finally, she watched her beloved brother use his power to try and subdue their father. She saw his light disappear and for the first time, they all saw his true being. A floating eye that was cold, and full of boredom. They saw his true nature. A being who wished for nothing but to entertain himself.

Sol looked at his son and attacked for once. Gaia watched as the attack split Khors into billions of pieces. She watched as Anahit gave her life to make sure he was not extinguished. She watched in her sister’s final moments as she threw him towards her. Gaia made a choice seeing that cold eye turn her way.

She placed a part of her brother in every human that he deeply loved. She used the vestiges of the emotion left behind by Anahit to create a wall between her and Sol. She used his own hateful emotions as a barrier. She used Morana’s life to reinforce this barrier. She used part of her own life as this barrier.

Finally, it was enough. She had separated them from their father. She had lost two sisters and her brother was all but dead. She was alone having to watch that cold eye look at them through the barrier. Yet she didn’t care. Seeing her brother nearly die was enough. She didn’t want it, she couldn’t live with herself if he did.

One day he would return. And it was up to his beloved children to make sure this happened. Those who carried a part of him had to survive, for when the day of reclamation came.

Their father was weak. He had given too much of his power away. When Khors awoke, Gaia would give her remaining power to him. She wouldn’t see it but knew the universe would finally be in good hands once Sol was gone.
",1598,"2026-06-03T11:17:48.774Z","2026-06-03T11:17:51.400Z",1,"novelbin.me","f6f689a709e3502517324815df9a4c20c82bb04817dd93fb9a7afcbc7b96776f","the-reborn-king-chapter-117","the-reborn-king-chapter-115",487,"https://novelzhen.com/images/covers/the-reborn-king-cover.jpg"]
