Chapter 1164: A Distant Planet (Requesting double monthly votes at the start of the month)
When the planet was torn into fragments in an instant, Lu Mian, with his three heads, three bodies, and six arms, was not affected in the slightest.
How could a calamity of this magnitude possibly harm "Calamity" itself?
He had long since taken out the "Box of the Old Days" inlaid with various gemstones and opened its third layer directly.
There was nothing inside, yet it emitted a clear, hair-raising sound of chewing and digestion.
Almost simultaneously, the right hand of the body occupied by Aurora and Yu Jianna reached in, dragging a pool of chaotic liquid that contained all colors and all possibilities out from the void.
Then, this right hand clenched, drawing that pool of liquid into a chaotic vortex of its own making, destroying the things contained within, and merging it with its own consciousness and spirit—the yin side of the "Root of Calamity"—to balance the residual corruption that could not be thoroughly dissolved.
While Lu Mian was doing this, the cross above the sanctuary caused more and larger patches of chaos to emerge, completely enveloping the sanctuary.
The next instant, the terrifying suction brought by the massive star cluster and the fragmentation of the tiny planet caused the sanctuary and the chaotic ocean that submerged it to shake violently, appearing as if it were about to disintegrate completely, causing the giant cross to bend noticeably.
But regardless, the sanctuary remained firmly in existence, at least for the short term.
Now is the time!
Klein sensed those "Great Old Ones" rushing in one after another. Seizing this opportunity, he let the projection of the dark blue light door fall into the sanctuary, scattering into countless starlight that rained down.
The chaotic ocean wrapping the sanctuary suddenly contracted, returning into the body of the figure on the cross, leaving behind only a pitch-black void and a few dangerous items.
The sanctuary was gone.
It had disappeared.
"The Fool" Klein instantly transferred hundreds of millions of humans, creatures of other races, and those scenes of life from the dreams to the target planet at the edge of the universe.
It was like performing a magic trick: covering the table with a cloth, and after lifting the cloth, the object was gone.
…………
Inside the sanctuary, which had not yet completely lost its effect and could be maintained for another five minutes, "Magician" Fors, who was in her own apartment in Backlund, suddenly felt her expression go blank.
She said to Xio, Franca, Anthony, and Ludwig:
"I don't need to transfer you anymore; we have already arrived at our destination. Everyone has arrived at the destination."
"Uh..." Franca was stunned for a moment.
She had thought she still had a chance to make a final choice.
It wasn't until "Magician" finished speaking that she, "Judgment" Xio, and Ludwig realized the environment had changed.
Just then, "Magician" Fors frowned slightly and said:
"Enemies are approaching, coming from the universe!"
As she spoke, Fors extended her right hand, bringing with it brilliant starlight, and wiped a dreamlike screen in front of her.
On the screen, black shadows that seemed to be traveling between different dimensions and thin figures at an unreachable height were descending upon the current planet in a leaping posture.
"'Dimension Shadow' of the 'Painter' pathway and 'Observer' of sequence 1, and there's more than one... Did that person discover 'The Fool's' transfer of the sanctuary, see through the 'Fraud,' find this planet from a higher dimension, and send envoys?" As "Magician's" consciousness echoed, those figures did not directly reach the current dimension; they stopped.
They knew that relying solely on the power of angels like themselves, they could not deal with the numerous and powerful "prey."
They began to summon "travelers," seeking help.
This was their habit; they were not mindless creatures that acted on instinct upon seeing food, preferring to take great risks to hunt rather than unite with other forces.
The next second, one bizarre creature after another arrived through the "Inn."
Some were females with closed eyes weaving a web of fate, others held small, mercury-colored illusory knives that seemed capable of cutting the threads of fate and certain tributaries of the river of fate;
Some belonged to different races, their appearances either humanoid or strange, but all had three heads and six arms, their faces either evil and resentful, bitter and numb, full of compassion, or completely blank and unformed;
Some were dazzling, as if condensed from starlight, with six pairs of wings; others had massive bodies, resembling transparent giant dragons, currently trying to drive a small asteroid toward the planet at the edge of the universe where the sanctuary was located;
Some wore black cloaks, but beneath their clothing were only strange snakes and tentacles; others had no substantial form at all, remaining only as voices deep within the hearts of living beings;
Some wore fresh flower wreaths, were beautiful in appearance, and held wooden bows and arrows, like true gods; others were tree-like sea monsters suspected of being covered in chaotic scales, blooming with many wet flowers, and growing many brownish-green tumors;
Some were like dark vortices, but with white, bone-chilling fangs inside, with black shadows extending outward from the outer layer, topped with different heads; others were nothing but a mass of liquid containing all colors;
Some seemed to be composed of water-colored time, their figures massive, causing everything around them to become slow; others were hunched over, extremely aged, their skin sagging and full of wrinkles and patches, looking unremarkable except for being as tall as a mountain;
Some were high and mighty, as if holding up the sky to prevent it from falling, yet they had no abdomen, which was a void, while others were green oak trees resembling pillars reaching the sky...
Seeing such a scene, pieces of information flashed through "Magician" Fors's mind, obtained from "The Fool," "The Hermit," "Chariot" Lu Mian, and her own explorations:
"'Web Weaver' of the 'Wheel of Fortune' pathway, 'Blade of Fate' of sequence 1...
"'Sinner' of the 'Circle of Inevitability' pathway, 'Angel of Redemption' of sequence 1...
"'Radiant Angel' of the 'Tidal Scholar' pathway, 'Star Dragon' of sequence 1...
"'Initiate' of the 'Apprentice' pathway, 'Voice of the Heart' of sequence 1...
"'God of Love' of the 'Mother Tree of Desire' pathway, 'Leviathan' of sequence 1...
"'Angel of Gluttony' of the 'Chef' pathway, 'Chaotic Stomach Fluid' of sequence 1...
"'Time Giant' of the 'King of Decay' pathway, 'God of Aging' of sequence 1...
"'Supreme' of the 'Warlock' pathway, or 'Broken Pillar,' 'Tree God' of sequence 1..."
"Magician" took a deep breath, turned her head, and smiled at "Judgment" Xio:
"It's not over yet; we still have work to do."
After speaking, this sequence 1 "Key of Stars," who had only recently advanced, left the sanctuary and appeared above a habitable planet she had discovered during her past travels.
She raised her right hand, causing the vast and dreamlike starry sky to appear, covering the entire sanctuary, thereby completing a seal—a protective seal.
The ensuing battle must not affect the interior of the sanctuary, nor could those evil god envoys be allowed to infiltrate quietly!
Fors had just finished this when she saw a figure appear not far away; it was the Pope of the Church of the Night, the white-bearded and white-haired Saint Gebo Machi.
Saint Gebo Machi was very different from a month ago; he had become a giant several tens of meters tall, with disproportionately long limbs, gray-blue skin, and two eyes that had moved up to his forehead, merging into a single vertical eye.
Please... collect 6... 9... books...!
He was now the sequence 1 "Hand of God" of the "Giant," or "Warrior," pathway. His right palm seemed to be condensed from the orange-red light of dusk.
Saint Gebo Machi caused pure, thick light tinged with orange-red to surge from the void, adding another layer of exceptionally sturdy light barrier outside "Magician" Fors's seal.
Double protection!
As Saint Gebo Machi used his protective power, another figure left the sanctuary and came outside the seal.
That was a middle-aged man with black hair, blue eyes, a thick beard, and a solemn expression. He had a square face, a high nose bridge, and wore a dark cloak. He was the founder of the Loen Kingdom, the great angel William Augustus.
William Augustus did not rush to take action, but raised his head to observe the tug-of-war between chaos and balance, the changes in the current order, and the gathering of enemy forces, in order to decide what kind of rules to formulate and what kind of order to establish later.
There could be no errors in judgment here. If, after "mystery weakens, reality strengthens," the enemies dragged out something like the spaceship from the Prayer to the Sea ritual, the corresponding rules might instead restrict most of the angels on his side.
"Magician" Fors was about to say something to Saint Gebo Machi and William Augustus when she saw Xio and Franca appear beside her.
Seeing her friend looking at her, "Judgment" Xio said without much emotional fluctuation:
"To me, the essence of establishing and maintaining order is protection."
Fors didn't say anything, smiled, and turned to look at Franca.
Franca cleared her throat and said solemnly:
"I am not someone who hides behind others.
"At a time like this, contributing what strength I can is what I should do."
With her personality, how could she not have fantasized about becoming a savior? The kind that signs a non-disclosure agreement and remains unknown afterward.
"Magician" laughed upon hearing this:
"Even if you hadn't come, I would have summoned you."
She then looked through the seal and barrier at Anthony inside the sanctuary:
"Your duty is to soothe, to maintain stability."
Anthony was startled for a moment, then said to Ludwig beside him:
"I will return to the Trier portion."
Without waiting for Ludwig to respond, he walked into the Collective Subconscious Sea himself.
His expression was both solemn and tinged with a hint of joy:
It's really good; this time I'm not someone who can't exert any effect. I can still soothe, I can still stabilize the rear for the angels.
Back then, although it sounds childish and ridiculous, I really didn't choose to join the army to get rich or become an official; I joined the army to protect the motherland and the people...
Ludwig did not follow Anthony, nor did he immediately leave the sanctuary. In his hand, there was an extra jewelry box inlaid with many gemstones, and an extra mass of wriggling chaotic liquid.
Lu Mian had thrown the "Box of the Old Days" over from across half the universe.
Ludwig stared at those two things, his expression changing uncertainly.
After a few more seconds, he gritted his teeth and stuffed the pool of chaotic liquid into his mouth.
