Chapter 747: Three Items (Final Day Before Double Moon Ticket Boost)
After confirming his physical condition and pondering for a while, Lu Mi moved slowly along the edge of the wide corridor.
During this process, he nearly emptied his mind—no thinking, no analysis—only focusing on whether he would be reflected by the silver full-length mirror at the corridor's distant end.
Finally, Lu Mi halted, guided by instinct.
He hoped to use the Law of Anomalous Property Aggregation and the "Hunter's" sensitivity to fate to find the room most "suitable" for him among those starlit doors.
Perhaps it would contain a high-rank item from the "Hunter" path, or even the primary ingredient of the "Ironblood Knight's" elixir!
Gazing at the translucent door before him, formed of brilliant starlight, Lu Mi lowered his voice and asked:
"Therimipolos, do you think there's great danger inside?"
Having experienced the Truth School incident, Lu Mi was increasingly wary of this angel of fate, but that didn't mean he would never seek his advice—given the right moment and proper conditions, Therimipolos could still offer useful insights.
Like now: the "Magician" lady was outside, and Therimipolos had almost no hope of escaping his seal; his own death or mutation would only drag him into an even worse state. Under these circumstances, he would likely give some warning about danger.
Lu Mi couldn't see his own fate's changes, but Therimipolos could.
Therimipolos remained silent, offering no reply to Lu Mi's question.
Lu Mi wasn't disappointed; he pressed his right palm—still emitting the residual aura of the "Blood Emperor"—against the handle of the starlit door before him.
He slowly turned the handle, assuming the posture of pushing the door open, waiting for Therimipolos to react.
The starlit door gradually opened, and Therimipolos gave no warning.
"No reaction is also a reaction! It means the danger inside is within my tolerance—or I'll likely receive help…" Lu Mi calmly pushed the starlit door fully open and stepped into the room beyond, ruled by darkness.
Suddenly, a blazing white-blue flame flared up, and a black straight sword wreathed in terrifying fire slashed down toward his head.
Lu Mi, prepared for unexpected threats, instantly activated the black sigil on his right shoulder and vanished in a flash to the room's side.
Crash!
The black straight sword, sheathed in white-blue flame, slammed hard onto the translucent starlit floor, carving a deep crack.
Within the crack, parts of the starlight melted, flowing like lava.
Through the flying sparks, Lu Mi saw who had attacked him.
It was a black, nearly two-and-a-half-meter-tall full-body armor; beneath its helmet, no glowing eyes of an undead creature—only darkness, as if no one was wearing it.
In an instant, the black armor turned its body toward Lu Mi and raised its massive straight sword once more, wreathed in white-blue flame.
And before this, Lu Mi's blue eyes had turned iron-black.
He saw the armor's weakness: streaks of pallid white at several joints.
As the black sword, blazing with fire, swung toward him, Lu Mi used "Teleport" again and vanished from his spot.
Crash! White-blue flames scattered, and Lu Mi's figure appeared behind the black full-body armor.
He leapt upward, his right fist ignited with white flame.
Ding! The sound echoed as Lu Mi punched the junction between the armor's helmet and torso.
"Harvest!"
After landing the blow, Lu Mi immediately "Teleported" away, evading the armor's half-turned waist-sweeping strike.
Thus, relying on the high mobility of "Teleport," he repeatedly appeared behind the target, striking the same spot with "Harvest," never greedy—each flash delivered only one strike.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
After five consecutive "Harvest" strikes, the black full-body armor froze in place.
Jagged cracks spread rapidly from the helmet-torso junction across its entire body.
Crack!
The black armor shattered completely, its metal fragments crashing one by one onto the starlit floor, producing a patter like raindrops.
Ding—the massive straight sword, still sheathed in white-blue flame, clattered to the ground.
"It has no intelligence, moves stiffly, and is only stronger than Sequence 6 but weaker than Sequence 5—but the sword's offensive power is extremely high. If I'd been struck, unless I used an animated shadow as a substitute, I'd be dead on the spot, or lose limbs. That's assuming it didn't hit my torso. Hmm, the armor itself is also very hard—harder than the 'Guardian' I encountered during the Dream Festival…" Lu Mi observed the shattered armor's condition with the corner of his eye, using the residual glow from the black sword to scan the entire room, prepared for other surprises.
The room was nearly empty, containing only a stone altar-like platform, upon which rested a small transparent glass bottle filled with a pale yellow-red semi-solid substance, topped by a thick black wick.
"A magical candle?" Lu Mi made a rough judgment. "I wonder what it does…"
At this point, he was mostly certain no other threats remained, and turned his gaze back to the pile of fragments from the shattered black armor.
He noticed a strange piece of leather among the debris.
The leather was about half a towel's size, pure white in color, with a fine texture; even from afar, it gave Lu Mi the impression that it was charming, once part of a beautiful woman's body.
"Human skin?" Lu Mi muttered, frowning slightly, and walked over.
He did not immediately pick up the black straight sword—its surface flames mostly extinguished—or the alluring white leather. Instead, he took a dagger from "The Traveler's Satchel."
With the dagger, Lu Mi lifted the leather into view.
The first thing his eyes caught were several ancient Hermes words in black ink:
"Despair…"
"Sequence 4…"
Suddenly, Lu Mi felt his breathing grow heavy, his head dizzy, his physical condition visibly deteriorating.
He quickly averted his gaze and, using the dagger to hold the fine white leather, shoved both into "The Traveler's Satchel."
His discomfort gradually faded.
"The elixir recipe for the 'Despair Witch'?" Lu Mi recalled what he'd seen and made a deduction. "And the leather itself was peeled directly from a 'Despair Witch,' hence its inherent special properties and danger? No wonder these are relics of the Tudor Dynasty—such things exist…"
Amid swirling thoughts, Lu Mi's gaze shifted to the black straight sword, its white-blue flame now dimmer, no longer as brilliant as before.
He hesitated a moment, choosing not to risk confirming the item's ability, effect, or negative influence now. Instead, he removed "The Traveler's Satchel," deliberately placed the sword inside, and set it in a corner where no other items lay.
Using the same method, Lu Mi also stored the strange candle in the glass bottle into "The Traveler's Satchel."
He planned to consult the "Magician" lady about these items after leaving—no more reckless experimentation!
After confirming no other objects remained in the room, Lu Mi returned through the starlit door to the dark, spacious corridor.
He was about to continue selecting his next room to explore, relying on the Law of Anomalous Property Aggregation and the "Hunter's" sensitivity to fate, when a faint, distant voice suddenly reached his ear:
"For you, the other rooms are too dangerous…"
It was the "Magician" lady's voice.
She and the "Hanged Man" were indeed watching… That remark meant exploration should stop for now? Lu Mi's inner certainty grew instantly.
He thought for a few seconds, then decided to do one more thing before leaving this extradimensional space.
Slowly, cautiously, he circled toward the silver full-length mirror at the corridor's end, his mind sharply focused, ready to turn back the moment the "Magician" lady warned him.
Until he reached the side of the silver full-length mirror, she made no attempt to stop him.
Lu Mi took a deep breath and carefully moved his right palm toward the mirror's front surface.
He didn't know whether the mirror would trigger another anomaly if only his palm was reflected.
As his palm moved slowly, his nerves remained taut.
Finally, he pressed against the mirror's surface, feeling its coldness—both fragile and unyielding.
Immediately, he activated the Qiyue ability from "Bloody Jack": "Mirror Sigil!"
He wanted to test whether, upon returning to the outside world, he could still sense the sigil left within this hidden space.
Blood seeped from his palm into the mirror's surface, forming an inverted image.
While waiting, Lu Mi suddenly had a thought:
"Did my recent encounter amplify the negative effects of the 'Mirror Sigil' contract? This does qualify as a mirror-related anomaly and strange danger…"
In the blink of an eye, Lu Mi completed the "Mirror Sigil."
Having done so, he retraced his steps, avoiding any area that could be reflected by the silver full-length mirror, step by step ascending the wooden staircase.
Soon, Lu Mi's vision brightened—he saw the wall lamps on either side of the cabin and their dim flickering flames.
He had "returned" to the "Azure Avenger."
Arriving at the front deck, before Lu Mi could ask the "Magician" lady to retrieve the three items from "The Traveler's Satchel" and perform the corresponding "appraisal," the holder of the Major Arcana laughed:
"No wonder you're a 'Hunter' with the rank of a False Angel and remnants of Tudor aura—you've secured three items closely tied to the 'Hunter' and the 'Witch.'
"That straight sword is what you hoped for—it's forged from the 'Ironblood Knight's' anomalous essence."
