Chapter 1359

Ling Anguo said, "Then how many cattle and sheep are you preparing to raise?"

He Gaoling said, "The first batch is preparing to introduce one breeding bull, two breeding cows, and twenty three-month-old calves. For sheep, it's the Matou goats that our one hundred households already have, about two or three hundred. We plan to expand the scale of cattle to over one hundred and the scale of sheep to about two thousand within two years."

Ling Anguo said, "Then your ambition is not small. If the scale of farming can really reach your goal, that will be a significant fortune. By then, you will all have escaped poverty and become rich. Can it be done?"

The scale of farming that He Gaoling talked about, if calculated in value, certainly exceeds one million. This is indeed a significant fortune, and for the villagers of Mayang Village now, it is an astronomical figure.

Di Anbang took over the conversation and said, "Within two years, this scale of farming can definitely be reached. Most of the three-month-old calves they introduce after the New Year are female cows, which can conceive in about half a year, producing one to two calves per year. Adding the calves introduced one after another later, it is definitely possible to reach one hundred within two years."

"As for Matou goats, ewes can conceive at half a year old, and can produce two litters a year, with two to four lambs per litter. Therefore, as long as the technical problem of artificial insemination is solved, the population scale of Matou goats can expand very quickly. Reaching two thousand within two years is no problem."

Ling Anguo nodded with relief: "It seems we still need to find experts. The problem that Changshan County hasn't been able to solve for hundreds of years has now been solved as soon as the expert came. Thank you, Little Expert Di!"

Di Anbang said somewhat embarrassedly, "Magistrate Ling, don't call me an expert. I'm still just a student and can't be considered an expert yet."

Ling Anguo said, "No matter whether you are still a student, as long as you can help us solve problems, you are an expert. Little Expert Di, when we promote the cattle and sheep farming industry in other townships in the county, can you help them with technical guidance by then?"

Di Anbang nodded and said, "Yes. In fact, the artificial insemination technology for livestock is not complicated. Now the technical personnel of the Matou Town Livestock Station have learned almost enough from us. Your county can organize all the technical personnel in the county to come here for training for a period of time, and they will be able to learn it."

Ling Anguo nodded and said, "This is a good method. I will organize all the livestock stations in the county to send technicians to Matou Town for training as soon as I go back."

After watching in the cooperative for more than an hour and asking some questions, Ling Anguo bid farewell to He Gaoling and Di Anbang and went to the construction site of the Mayang Village public welfare primary school.

The construction site was very busy. There were also many villagers helping here. It is like this in the countryside; almost everyone is a decent construction worker. Who hasn't built a house in their family?

Su Xinghui saw Cao Jingui at a glance. She was taking her two daughters to deliver water to the villagers who were helping to build the house. Su Xinghui shouted "Sister-in-law Jingui." Cao Jingui looked back, saw Su Xinghui, and smiled: "It's Secretary Su!"

Cao Jingui is not yet forty years old. Although one can see the hardships of her life from her rough hands and the wind and frost on her face, one can still see the beauty of her youth from her beautiful face. And her two daughters, one seventeen and one fourteen, have already grown into beautiful young girls.

Cao Jingui's two daughters, one named He Xiaoqin and one named He Xiaoping, were both looking at Su Xinghui with affection and smiling, calling out "Brother Su" crisply together. They never called Su Xinghui "Secretary Su" but "Brother Su," and they also felt the warmth of an older brother from Su Xinghui.

Su Xinghui nodded to them and said to Cao Jingui, "Sister-in-law Jingui, you are delivering water for everyone."

Cao Jingui nodded and said, "We three mothers and daughters don't have any other ability, we can only help everyone deliver some water. We deliver water on both sides, at the cooperative and here, just to do our part."

Su Xinghui said, "Sister-in-law Jingui, thank you for the oranges and eggs you brought me last time."

Cao Jingui laughed instantly: "Look at what you said, they are all worthless things produced at home, not worth the Secretary saying a thank you."

Su Xinghui then introduced Ling Anguo to her: "This is Magistrate Ling, who came to our village to see today."

Cao Jingui had never seen such a big official as a magistrate. She nodded to Ling Anguo, called out "Magistrate Ling," and said to Su Xinghui, "Secretary Su, then we are going to deliver water."

At this time, Yuan Yongshou called the person in charge of the engineering team over. Building this school is different from building cattle sheds and sheep pens. It is impossible for all villagers to build it. Therefore, after formal bidding, the project was undertaken by the Changshan County First Construction Company.

Ling Anguo asked the person in charge some questions. When he learned that this primary school could be built before the start of school in the second half of the year, he said happily, "That's great. You must build this school with care and build it well. This is a plan for a hundred years."

The person in charge nodded in response.

On the way back, Ling Anguo said to Su Xinghui, "Seeing this school, I am both happy and ashamed. It is my incompetence as a magistrate that I cannot let all children go to school."

Su Xinghui said, "Magistrate Ling, this cannot be blamed on you alone. This is a historical legacy problem. We will solve it slowly in the future, and it will only get better day by day."

Ling Anguo nodded and said, "Comrade Xinghui, I think this cattle and sheep farming industry is very good. Can you promote the experience to the whole county and let all townships in the county raise them?"

Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Magistrate, that's what I thought, but I am only the Party Secretary of Matou Town, so for the time being, I can only manage the affairs of our Matou Town. This needs to be organized and promoted by the county."

Ling Anguo said, "Fine, as long as you have this intention, I will handle the promotion." ===== CHAPTER 1361 =====
