Chapter 2163

Su Xinghui said, "Big brother, how many people came from your village?"

The middle-aged farmer said, "More than a hundred people came from our village this time, all strong laborers."

Su Xinghui said, "Big brother, how do you feel about the logistical support for flood control this time?"

The middle-aged farmer said, "Young man, I don't know how many times I've been on the embankment, but the living arrangements for flood control and disaster relief this time are the best. In the past, we didn't even have water to drink on the embankment and could only drink river water. Now we are given mineral water every day, and all three meals are hot rice and dishes delivered by the town's cafeteria, and we can sleep in tents."

Several farmers nearby also spoke up, "Yes, the living arrangements this time are good, even better than our lives at home. We have meat at every meal, and we only eat meat a few times a month at home. We drink mineral water every day, and I heard it costs one or two yuan a bottle. If it were at home, we wouldn't be willing to drink this."

The mineral water this time was of course donated by the Yongfeng Beverage Factory. This time, they specially donated tens of thousands of boxes of mineral water to the Chongjin County Flood Control and Disaster Relief Headquarters to be used as drinking water for flood control personnel. After this water is finished, they will continue to make additional donations.

In such weather, it is impossible for so many people to drink hot water on time. In fact, in the past, many people drank river water directly, and countless people got diarrhea and became ill because of it. Now, Su Xinghui certainly will not allow such things to happen.

Therefore, Su Xinghui asked Min Tong to donate this mineral water just to allow flood control personnel to drink safe drinking water to ensure their physical health. If even their physical health cannot be guaranteed, that would be the government's dereliction of duty.

Hearing the words of these farmers and seeing the smiles on their faces, Su Xinghui also nodded with relief. It seems that his efforts this time have been effective. Now that he has prepared all aspects of the work very sufficiently, there should be no problems with the flood control and disaster relief work this year.
