Chapter 2251

In addition to these actors, those who came back with He Zongxin also included some qin players and others. These people were also an indispensable part of the troupe.

Su Xinghui did not break his promise either. As soon as He Zongxin became the head, he allocated a sum of money to the county troupe as start-up funds.

After He Zongxin took office, he immediately terminated the contracts with the several karaoke halls that had originally rented the troupe and took back the theater.

These karaoke halls originally wanted to make a fuss, but they were all relatives and friends of the original leaders of the troupe, and there were tricks in renting the theater. They could not speak hard words. Plus, it was the end of the year, and the one-year lease was about to expire, so in the end, they could only look for another place.

After taking back the theater, He Zongxin dismantled the messy decorations of the original karaoke halls and renovated it, letting the theater glow with vitality. They could stage new plays here.

Subsequently, He Zongxin began to publicly recruit actors in Chongjin County. In Chongjin County, there were really many people who sang tea-picking opera, and the mass foundation was very good. So as soon as the recruitment advertisement was posted, there were clouds of applicants, many of whom had very good conditions.

In fact, the tradition of the Chongjin County Troupe twenty years ago was very good. At that time, they often recruited some folk artists who sang well. People like Feng Lan and He Zongxin entered the troupe like this. But later, the system became rigid, and there was no fresh blood to supplement it, which was also an important reason for the decline of the troupe.

Now that the troupe is publicly recruiting from society again, the response is still very large.

This batch of He Zongxin recruited twenty or thirty new actors to enter the troupe for trial. In addition, he also re-hired some retired old actors to the troupe to let them play their remaining heat.

People like He Zongxin's master, Hu Baguai, were re-hired to the troupe to serve as clown actors and impart his skills and experience to the newly recruited actors. In the future, the troupe would also organize training classes for young students, and old actors like Hu Baguai would be teachers.

In this way, the troupe is brand new and has a prosperous atmosphere.

And as soon as He Zongxin came back, he set about writing new scripts and staging new plays.

The new script he wrote did not use the scripts he wrote in Hongzhou. He prepared to write about things in Chongjin County, especially things that happened after Su Xinghui came to Chongjin County, such as canceling agricultural taxes, treating schistosomiasis patients, and flood control and disaster relief, etc.

These are all good materials that are very close to the times and life, and they are all things that the common people of Chongjin County love to see. Writing them into the script is very appropriate. He believes that it will be very popular with the common people of Chongjin County.

As soon as Su Xinghui asked if He Zongxin had any good news, He Zongxin nodded and said, "Yes, County Magistrate, our first new play is already in rehearsal. The first rehearsal is this Saturday. I want to invite you to come to the scene to watch it. Please grace us with your presence!"

Su Xinghui thought for a while. He should have no arrangements this Saturday, so he nodded and said, "Okay, I will definitely go. By the way, what is the name of this new play?"

He Zongxin said, "County Magistrate, the name of this new play is 'Journey Through Wind and Rain'."

"'Journey Through Wind and Rain'?" Su Xinghui nodded and said, "This is a good name. I am looking forward to this new play!"

He Zongxin said, "Please also guide our new play, County Magistrate."

Su Xinghui waved his hand and said, "I don't know much about opera art, so I can't talk about guidance. You are the professional. By the way, have you invited other county leaders?"

He Zongxin shook his head and said, "No."

Su Xinghui said, "How about this, I will help you invite other county leaders and let them all go to see it together on Saturday. This is the first new play staged by the county troupe in recent years, so let them all see it."

He Zongxin said happily, "Then thank you, County Magistrate."

For this new play, Su Xinghui is indeed looking forward to it. He Zongxin has done so many things in just over a month since he came back, taking back the theater, recruiting actors, and rehearsing new plays. This is indeed a talent. If this play is performed well, it will indeed be a great promotion for the cultural undertakings of Chongjin County.

For a county, the economy must develop, but if there is no cultural undertaking that develops synchronously, it is unhealthy, because the masses also have cultural needs. So Su Xinghui attaches great importance to this matter.

In a blink of an eye, it was Saturday. The leaders of the four major families of Chongjin County all attended the rehearsal scene of this county troupe's new play. Lu Xiaoya naturally followed Su Xinghui to the theater with great interest.

Since it was just a rehearsal, these county leaders and relevant leaders of cultural departments, as well as the families of some actors, were basically all the audience. Since there were not many people, they all sat in the front row.

The theater is a three-story building with a courtyard in the back. The first floor is the theater, and the second and third floors are offices. In the past, the first floor here was rented to someone to play videos, and the second and third floors and the courtyard in the back were rented to someone to run a karaoke hall, which once made the theater smoky and chaotic.

Now the theater has been taken back and renovated. Of course, this renovation is also very simple, that is, scraping white lime on the wall, but compared with the decadent atmosphere of the past few years, it has been much better, revealing a kind of vitality.

It is almost winter now, so the seats are padded with sponge cushions and covered with gold velvet covers, making people feel very comfortable sitting on them in this season.

Su Xinghui sat in the first row, with Lu Xiaoya on his left and He Jianpeng on his right. Today, he just came to watch a rehearsal, so everyone did not strictly arrange seats according to their status in the county, and they could sit more casually.

Before the rehearsal started, He Jianpeng smiled and said to Su Xinghui, "County Magistrate, this clansman of mine is famous in Chongjin County. His reputation in Chongjin County was no less than yours."

Su Xinghui smiled and said, "You are exaggerating. What reputation do I have in Chongjin County?"

He Jianpeng said, "Now just ask on the street, see if there is anyone among the common people of Chongjin County who doesn't know your name?"

Su Xinghui smiled and shook his head and said, "Then you must have watched this clansman's play before?"

He Jianpeng said, "Of course. His acting style is both serious and comical. He plays positive characters well, and he also plays clown roles well. Playing tragedies makes you shed tears, and playing comedies makes you laugh. In short, this is indeed a good actor. And the scripts he performs are all written by himself. I admire him for this point. Although he hasn't read many books, he is indeed talented."

Su Xinghui nodded. He Zongxin's talent can be affirmed by He Jianpeng, so there must be no mistake.

He Jianpeng lowered his voice and said, "It's just that this clansman of mine has a too stubborn temper. He once wrote a play to satirize some leaders in the county, so he has never been reused and almost went to jail."

Speaking of this, He Jianpeng looked at the side of County Party Committee Secretary Yuan Yifu. Yuan Yifu was sitting in a seat a few meters away from them, and at this time he was full of spring breeze and talking and laughing with others. There was no trace of displeasure on his face.

Su Xinghui naturally knew that the county leaders He Jianpeng referred to must be Yuan Yifu and them. He smiled and nodded, indicating understanding.

It seems that his promotion of this Comrade He Zongxin has made some people unhappy again. But there is no way. He cannot do nothing just because others are unhappy. To be honest, no matter who is unhappy, Su Xinghui still does what he should do.

The curtain opened, the lights were all on, and the rehearsal began.

This play is called 'Journey Through Wind and Rain', which is about the things Su Xinghui did after coming to Chongjin County, such as his investment attraction, canceling agricultural taxes and levies, finding experts to treat schistosomiasis patients in the county, etc. These things were written vividly by He Zongxin, both vivid and humorous, making the county leaders under the stage laugh from time to time.

Today, tea-picking opera was rehearsed, using the local dialect of Chongjin County. Su Xinghui and Lu Xiaoya had been in Chongjin County for more than a year, and they could understand most of the local dialect of Chongjin County, so they could basically understand some of the lines and singing of this play.

Su Xinghui nodded repeatedly. This He Zongxin is indeed talented. The lyrics he wrote are very good, very witty and humorous, and can be educational through entertainment. ===== CHAPTER 2253 =====
