Chapter 2713

Zhang Heping said, "Vice Mayor Su, Zhai Yingjie being arrested by the police really has nothing to do with me. You warned me yesterday, how could I dare to go against you!"

Su Xinghui said, "Oh, it's not you, then who is it?"

Zhang Heping said with a bitter face, "I just asked. Among the people Zhai Yingjie hit yesterday, one of them has an older brother who is a policeman. He knew his younger brother was beaten by Zhai Yingjie, so he took people to arrest Zhai Yingjie."

Su Xinghui said, "Then how do you think this should be handled?"

Zhang Heping said, "I have already told them to release him. As for the injured, I will pay for their treatment and compensate them for nutritional fees, lost wages, etc. I am willing to pay more, and Zhai Yingjie should be released soon."

Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Okay, I hope he can be released soon. That would be good for both him and you."

Su Xinghui's words made Zhang Heping sweat profusely. He nodded and said, "He will definitely be released immediately. Vice Mayor Su, I will go to the police station now and have them release him."

Su Xinghui waved his hand again, and Zhang Heping went out.

Around 3:00 PM, Xia Song returned. As soon as he returned, he went to Su Xinghui's office to tell him the result of today's matter.

The person who arrested Zhai Yingjie was the older brother of one of the people injured last night. He served as a deputy director at a local police station. Hearing that his younger brother was beaten by Zhai Yingjie, he went to the hospital today and immediately took a few people to Zhai Yingjie's home and arrested him.

He charged Zhai Yingjie with fighting and injuring 6 people, causing minor injuries to 6 people, which was intentional injury. Once this charge was confirmed, Zhai Yingjie might spend ten years in prison.

Fortunately, Qianqian called Xia Song in time. After Xia Song told Zhang Heping about this, he rushed over. Zhang Heping's phone call had also been made, so when Xia Song arrived at the police station, Zhai Yingjie hadn't suffered any physical abuse.

Otherwise, ordinary people who enter the police station usually have to suffer a severe beating first. This is similar to the "killing power stick" in ancient times, which is to make you behave. This is, of course, an illegal act, but it is also an unspoken rule of these times.

After Xia Song arrived at the police station, he took out his work ID and revealed his identity. The director of the police station naturally didn't dare to be negligent. When he asked Xia Song about his intention, Xia Song said he was testifying for Zhai Yingjie, saying that Zhai Yingjie's actions last night were purely self-defense and not fighting.

The deputy director was still unconvinced and said it was fighting. Xia Song said, "Among the 6 injured people, two were injured by Vice Mayor Su because they wanted to attack Zhai Yingjie's wife and sister. So according to you, Vice Mayor Su was also fighting?"

The sweat on the police director's forehead suddenly came down. He hurriedly apologized and said, "Section Chief Xia, according to you, Zhai Yingjie is undoubtedly acting in self-defense, and Vice Mayor Su's behavior is a righteous act!"

Xia Song said, "Since Zhai Yingjie is acting in self-defense, can he be released now?"

In fact, if Zhai Yingjie was acting in self-defense, those who were injured by him were provoking trouble. However, Xia Song also knew that he should save Zhai Yingjie first and not cause extra trouble, because among those who provoked trouble yesterday, there was the younger brother of this deputy director.

The director nodded and said, "No problem, he can be released now."

Although the deputy director was a bit unwilling, he also knew that the arm could not twist the thigh, let alone the gap between his small deputy director of the police station and a vice mayor was far greater than the gap between the arm and the thigh, so he could only swallow this breath.

At that time, the director personally brought Zhai Yingjie out, handled the procedures for him, and let Xia Song take him away. When leaving, he kept nodding and bowing to Xia Song.

When Zhai Yingjie saw that it was Xia Song who came to pick him up, he was a bit stunned. When he was arrested by the deputy director, Zhai Yingjie thought he was going to be miserable this time. Although Xia Song left his phone number for him last night, he never thought that Xia Song would really come to save him.

Zhai Yingjie was very excited and said thank you to Xia Song several times. Xia Song smiled and told him it was okay, and then Xia Song personally sent Zhai Yingjie home.

Zhai Yingjie's wife Qianqian and sister Xiao Man were at home, anxious and at a loss. Although Qianqian made that phone call to Xia Song, she had no bottom in her heart. Xia Song was the secretary of the Vice Mayor, would a Vice Mayor really be willing to help her save her husband?

They had already tasted the coldness of the world countless times.

Now seeing Xia Song personally send Zhai Yingjie back, the two women were so excited they didn't know what to say. They thanked Xia Song profusely, and Xia Song said he had to return to the municipal government to work, so he said goodbye.

After hearing Xia Song's words, Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Okay, you did a good job. As long as Zhai Yingjie is saved, that's enough. Don't pursue other things for now. After all, we are newcomers, and many things cannot be pursued now."

Xia Song nodded knowingly.
