Chapter 2754

And Xing Guodong had only been in office for a few days and didn't even fully understand the situation in the county yet. Besides, the county's funding was also very tight. With so many units in the whole county, how much money could be allocated to these schools?

Luo Quanyou was even less worth mentioning; he hadn't even received his own salary for several months, so where could he conjure up this money to repair the school buildings?

However, looking at Su Xinghui's piercing eyes watching them, could they say they had no way?

Luo Guoxiu said, "Mayor Su, how about this, our Education Bureau will come up with 100,000 yuan."

Su Xinghui knew that the Education Bureau was not a very wealthy unit. Being able to come up with 100,000 yuan meant Luo Guoxiu was sincere.

Xing Guodong said, "Mayor Su, the situation in Funiu Township is like this, and I estimate that the situation in many other townships in the county is similar. Therefore, I plan to inspect all the dangerous buildings in all the township schools in the county over the next two days, and then allocate a special fund for repairs based on the situation, reinforcing these dangerous buildings before the heavy snow falls."

Su Xinghui nodded. Xing Guodong's plan was very practical and didn't exaggerate, claiming he could easily solve this matter. However, one could hear his sincerity and his seeking of truth from facts. This was a pragmatic cadre, much better than those who only talked big.

Du Lijuan also said, "Mayor Su, I will definitely follow this matter through to the end and ensure that these school buildings are repaired solidly."

Luo Quanyou said happily, "Since we have the words of Director Luo, County Magistrate Xing, and County Magistrate Du, then I can rest easy. I guarantee that as long as the funds are in place, I will definitely organize the manpower and repair these school buildings in the shortest possible time. If a single student is injured this year because a dangerous building collapses under the snow, I won't need you to say anything, Mayor Su; I will pack my bags and get out immediately!"

Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Good, since you have such determination, then I can rest easy. I hope you can treat this as a major matter to be done. I will continue to pay attention to this matter."

Yu Ruizhi smiled and said, "Mayor Su, then our charity foundation will also contribute some money. As long as it is needed for repairing the school buildings, the shortfall will be covered by our charity foundation."

Yu Ruizhi's words made Xing Guodong and Luo Quanyou overjoyed. They didn't expect this big boss to be so generous. If he were to repair all the school buildings in the county, the funds required would not be a small amount, yet he said he would pay it just like that.

Xing Guodong said, "Then thank you, President Yu. President Yu, this is truly providing charcoal in snowy weather!"

Luo Quanyou said happily, "President Yu, you can do this, I really don't know how to thank you!"

Yu Ruizhi said, "It's nothing. Our foundation is originally dedicated to charity. We provide a lot of funding for education and have built many public welfare schools across the country. Therefore, helping you repair some school buildings is only right."

Luo Quanyou said, "President Yu, I also don't know how to thank you. How about this, let's have a few drinks at noon."

Yu Ruizhi nodded and said, "Sure, let's have a few drinks at noon!"

Yu Ruizhi had a good impression of Luo Quanyou, the Township Party Committee Secretary, especially since he hadn't received his own salary for several months. Such cadres were truly rare nowadays.

Of course, during his tenure, he hadn't made the face of Funiu Township change dramatically, but this wasn't just his problem alone. The natural conditions of Funiu Township were so harsh, how much could he do by himself?

It was already noon, so Luo Quanyou took Su Xinghui and his group to a restaurant next to the township government for a meal. This was the best restaurant in the location of the Funiu Township government.

Saying it was the best restaurant, in reality, it wasn't much better than any other. It was just the most ordinary township restaurant, with old-fashioned eight-immortal tables, each side with a long bench, and only eight people could sit at one table.

Because there were too many people and they couldn't fit, only Luo Quanyou and Township Head Lü Shiguang accompanied them from the Funiu Township government. Su Xinghui, Xing Guodong, Du Lijuan, and Yu Ruizhi's group sat at one table, with Luo Quanyou accompanying them, while Lü Shiguang accompanied the others at another table.

For Funiu Township, Su Xinghui and his group were distinguished guests who were hard to invite, especially Yu Ruizhi, who solved a problem they hadn't been able to solve for so long with just one sentence. Therefore, as soon as Luo Quanyou arrived at the restaurant, he told the boss to serve the best dishes in the restaurant and bring out the best liquor.

Luo Quanyou said to the boss, "Old Huang, whatever wild boar, pheasant, or hare you have here, serve it up. And bring out that jar of good liquor for me too. Don't be stingy; these are all distinguished guests!"

Old Huang said, "Secretary Luo, it's not that I'm stingy, but I only have one jar of that liquor left. My father-in-law is celebrating his seventieth birthday next month, and that jar of liquor is being saved for his birthday! Will other liquor do?"

Luo Quanyou said, "No, it has to be that jar of liquor. You don't know the distinguished guests who came today. This President Yu promised to help our township repair all the schools. If you are even stingy with a jar of liquor and anger President Yu away, can you bear that responsibility?"

Old Huang said, "So that's how it is. Then I'll bring out that jar of liquor. Secretary Luo, don't worry, I guarantee today that I will make this meal properly and won't let our Funiu Township lose face. Otherwise, you can hold me accountable, Secretary Luo!"
